1 ¶ The burden of the desert of the sea. As the whirlwinds which pass through the wilderness in the land of the south, so they come from the terrible land.

Profecia kundër shkretëtirës së detit. Ashtu si shakullimat kalojnë me të shpejtë nëpër Negev, kështu një pushtues vjen nga shkretëtira, nga një vend i tmerrshëm.

2 A grievous vision is shown unto me. For one who is treacherous, another who deals treacherously, and for one destroyer, another destroyer. Rise up, Elam; besiege Media; all the sighing thereof I have made to cease.

Zemra ime e ka humbur, tmerri më ka zënë; nata që aq shumë e dëshiroja është bërë llahtarë për mua.

5 P repare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink; arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

Ndërsa po shtrohet tryeza, bëhet rojë mbi kullën vëzhgimit hahet dhe pihet. "Çohuni, o krerë, dhe vajosni mburojat".

6 F or thus has the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman who shall declare what he sees.

Sepse kështu më ka thënë Zoti: "Shko, vër një roje që të njoftojë atë që shikon".

7 A nd he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; then he looked with more diligence;

Ajo pa qerre dhe çifte kalorësish, disa prej të cilëve kishin hipur mbi gomarë dhe të tjerë mbi deve, dhe i vëzhgoi me kujdes, me shumë kujdes.

8 a nd he cried, A lion upon the watchman. My lord, I stand continually all the day and all night long upon my watchtower.

Pastaj bërtiti si një luan: "O Zot, ditën unë rri gjithnjë mbi kullën e vëzhgimit, dhe çdo natë rri më këmbë te vendroja ime.

9 A nd, behold, this chariot of men comes with a couple of horsemen. Afterwards he spoke and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he has broken unto the ground.

Dhe ja po vijnë disa qerre dhe çifte kalorësish". Atëherë ajo nisi të flasë përsëri: "Ra, ra Babilonia"! Të gjitha shëmbëlltyrat e gdhendura të perëndive të saj janë për tokë të copëtuara.

10 O my harvest, and the people of my threshing floor, that which I have heard of the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared unto you.

O populli im, atë që kam shirë dhe shkelur në lëmin tim, atë që kam dëgjuar nga Zoti i ushtrive, Perëndia i Izraelit, unë ta kam njoftuar!".

11 ¶ The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of this night? Watchman, what of this night?

Profecia kundër Dumahut. Më bërtasin nga Seiri: "Roje, në ç’pikë ka arritur nata? Roje, në ç’pikë ka arritur nata?".

12 T he watchman said, The morning comes and then the night; if ye will enquire, enquire ye; return, and come.

Roja përgjigjet: "Vjen mëngjesi, pastaj edhe nata. Në rast se doni të pyesni, pyesni, pra; kthehuni, ejani".

13 ¶ The burden upon Arabia. In the forest ye shall pass the night in Arabia, O ye walkers of Dedanim.

Profecia kundër Arabisë. Do ta kaloni natën në pyjet e Arabisë, o karvanë të Dedamitëve.

14 G o ye out to meet them bringing water for the thirsty, O inhabitants of the land of Tema; succour those who are fleeing with your bread.

I dilni para të eturit duke i sjellë ujë, o banorë të vendit të Temas; i kanë dalë përpara ikanakut me bukën e tyre.

15 F or they flee from the presence of the sword, from the presence of the drawn sword, from the presence of the bent bow, from the presence of the grievousness of the battle.

Sepse ata ikin para shpatave, para shpatës së zhveshur, para harkut të nderur, para tërbimit të betejës.

16 F or thus has the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall be undone:

Sepse kështu më ka thënë Zoti: "Për një vit, ashtu si viti i një argati me mëditje, tërë lavdia e Kedarit do të zhduket;

17 A nd the residue of the number of valiant archers, sons of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel has spoken it.

dhe ajo që do të mbetet nga numri i harkëtarëve, njerëzit trima të bijve të Kedarit, do të jetë një gjë e vogël, sepse ka folur Zoti, Perëndia i Izraelit".
