1 ¶ Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out her seven pillars:

Dituria ka ndërtuar shtëpinë e saj, ka gdhendur shtatë shtyllat e saj.

2 S he has killed her sacrifice; she has mingled her wine; and she has furnished her table.

Ka vrarë kafshët e saj, ka përzier verën e saj dhe shtruar tryezën e saj.

3 S he has sent forth her maidens; she cries upon the highest places of the city,

Ka dërguar jashtë shërbëtoret e saj; nga vendet më të larta të qytetit ajo thërret:

4 w hosoever is simple, let him turn in here; as for those that lack understanding, she saith unto him,

"Ai që është budalla të vijë këtu!". Atij që i mungon gjykimi i thotë:

5 C ome, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

"Ejani, hani nga buka ime dhe pini verën që kam përzier.

6 F orsake that which is foolish and live and go in the way of understanding.

Lëreni budallallëkun dhe do të jetoni, ecni në rrugën e arsyes".

7 H e that chastens a scorner brings shame unto himself, and he that chastens a wicked man brings himself a blot.

Ai që korrigjon tallësin tërheq mbi vete të shara, dhe ai që qorton të pabesin merr të shara.

8 C hasten not a scorner lest he hate thee; chasten a wise man, and he will love thee.

Mos qorto tallësin sepse ai do të të urrejë; qorto të urtin dhe ai do të të dojë.

9 G ive instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

Mësoje të urtin dhe ai do të bëhet edhe më i urtë. Mësoje të drejtin dhe ai do të rritë diturinë e tij.

10 T he fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Frika e Zotit është parimi i diturisë, dhe njohja e të Shenjtit është zgjuarsia.

11 F or by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

Sepse nëpërmjet meje do të shumohen ditët e tua dhe do të të shtohen vite jete.

12 I f thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself; but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

Në rast se je i urtë, je i urtë për veten tënde; në rast se je tallës, pasojat do t’i kesh vetëm ti.

13 ¶ A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple and knows nothing.

Gruaja budallaqe është zhurmëmadhe, aspak e zgjuar dhe nuk di asgjë.

14 F or she sits at the door of her house on a seat in the high places of the city

Rri ulur te porta e shtëpisë së saj, mbi një fron në vendet e larta të qytetit,

15 t o call to those who pass by the way, to those who straighten their ways;

për të ftuar ata që kalojnë nëpër rrugë, që shkojnë drejt në rrugën e tyre:

16 W hosoever is simple, let him turn in here; and as for him that lacks understanding, she saith unto him:

"Ai që është budalla të vijë këtu!". Dhe atij që i mungon arsyeja i thotë:

17 S tolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

"Ujërat e vjedhura janë të ëmbla; buka që hahet fshehurazi është e shijshme".

18 B ut he does not know that the dead are there and that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

Por ai nuk e di që atje janë të vdekurit, që të ftuarit e saj janë në thellësinë e Sheolit.
