1 ¶ At that time, said the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah and the bones of his princes and the bones of the priests and the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves;

"Në atë kohë," thotë Zoti, "do të nxirren nga varret eshtrat e mbretërve të Judës, eshtrat e princërve, eshtrat e profetëve dhe eshtrat e banorëve të Jeruzalemit,

2 a nd they shall spread them before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved and whom they have served and after whom they have walked and whom they have sought and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.

dhe do të ekspozohen para diellit, para hënës dhe para tërë ushtrisë së qiellit, që ata kanë dashur, kanë shërbyer, kanë ndjekur, kanë konsultuar dhe para të cilëve kanë rënë përmbys; nuk do të mblidhen as do të groposen, por do të jenë si pleh mbi faqen e dheut.

3 A nd death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of those that remain of this evil generation, in all the places where I have driven those that remain, said the LORD of the hosts.

Atëherë vdekja do të jetë më e mirë se jeta për të gjitha mbeturinat e kësaj race të keqe në tërë vendet ku do t’i kem shpërndarë," thotë Zoti i ushtrive.

4 ¶ Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath the LORD said: The one who falls, does he never arise? he who turns away, does he never return?

Ti do t’u thuash atyre: "Kështu thotë Zoti: Në rast se dikush rrëzohet, a nuk ngrihet vallë? Në rast se dikush ndërron drejtimin, a nuk kthehet vallë?

5 W hy then is this people of Jerusalem rebellious with a perpetual rebellion? They hold fast deceit; they refuse to return.

Pse, pra, ky popull, o Jeruzalem, është shmangur me një rebelim të përjetshëm? Ngulin këmbë në mashtrim dhe nuk pranojnë të kthehen.

6 I hearkened and heard, but they did not speak aright: there was no man that repented of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? each one returned to his course as the horse rushes into the battle.

U kam kushtuar kujdes dhe i kam dëgjuar, por ata nuk flasin drejt; asnjeri nuk pendohet për ligësinë e tij dhe nuk thotë: "Çfarë bëra unë?". Secili merr përsëri vrapimin e tij, si një kalë që hidhet në betejë.

7 E ven the stork in the heaven knows her appointed time; and the turtle dove and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people did not know the judgment of the LORD.

Madje edhe lejleku i qiellit i njeh stinët e tij, turtulli, dallëndyshja dhe krilat shikojnë me kujdes kohën e kthimit të tyre, por populli im nuk e njeh ligjin e Zotit.

8 H ow do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Behold, certainly in vain did he make the pen; the scribes were in vain.

Si mund të thoni: "Ne jemi të urtë dhe ligji i Zotit është me ne"? Por ja, pena e rreme e shkruesve e ka bërë një falsitet.

9 T he wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: behold, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

Njerëzit e ditur do të turpërohen, do të tremben dhe do të kapen. Ja, kanë hedhur poshtë fjalën e Zotit; çfarë diturie mund të kenë?

10 T herefore I will give their wives unto others and their fields unto those that shall inherit them: for each one from the least even unto the greatest is given to greed; from the prophet even unto the priest every one deals falsely.

Prandaj bashkëshortet e tyre do t’ua jap të tjerëve dhe arat e tyre pronarëve të rinj, sepse nga më i vogli deri te më i madhi lakmojnë fitime; nga profeti deri te prifti të gjithë përdorin gënjeshtrën.

11 F or they have treated the destruction of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.

Ata mjekojnë shkel e shko plagën e bijës së popullit tim, duke thënë: Paqe, paqe,," kur nuk ekziston paqja.

12 W ere they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among those that should fall: when I visit them, they shall fall, saith the LORD.

A u vinte turp vallë kur kryenin veprime të neveritshme? Jo! nuk kishin turp aspak dhe nuk dinin ç’është të skuqesh. Prandaj do të rrëzohen midis atyre që rrëzohen; kur do t’i vizitoj do të përmbysen," thotë Zoti.

13 ¶ I will surely cut them off completely, said the LORD: there are no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fall; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.

Do t’i shfaros me siguri," thotë Zoti. "Nuk do të ketë më rrush te hardhia as fiq te fiku dhe gjethet do të fishken. Edhe gjërat që u kam dhënë do t’u hiqen".

14 U pon what shall we secure ourselves? Assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God has put us to silence and given us water of gall to drink because we have sinned against the LORD.

"Pse rrimë ulur? Mblidhuni dhe të hyjmë në qytetet e fortifikuara, dhe në to të vdesim. Sepse Zoti, Perëndia ynë, na bën të vdesim dhe na bën të pimë ujë të helmuar, sepse kemi mëkatuar kundër Zotit.

15 W e looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!

Prisnim paqen, por nuk erdhi asnjë e mirë, një kohë shërimi, por ja, terrori".

16 T he snorting of his horses was heard from Dan; the whole earth trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come and have devoured the land and all that is in it, the city and those that dwell therein.

Nga Dani dëgjohet turfullima e kuajve të tij; në zhurmën e hingëllimave të kuajve të tij të luftës dridhet gjithë vendi, sepse vijnë dhe gllabërojnë vendin dhe tërë ato që ai ka, qytetin dhe banorët e tij.

17 F or, behold, I send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, said the LORD.

"Sepse ja, unë do të dërgoj kundër jush gjarpërinj dhe nepërka, kundër të cilëve nuk vlen asnjë yshtje dhe ata do t’ju kafshojnë," thotë Zoti.

18 B ecause of my strong sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

Sikur të gjeja ngushëllim për dhembjen time. Zemra po më ligështohet përbrenda.

19 B ehold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people that comes from a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? Is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images and with vanities of a strange god?

Ja një zë: është britma e bijës së popullit tim nga një tokë e largët: Mos vallë Zoti është në Sion? A nuk është mbreti i tij në mes të tij??". Pse kanë ngacmuar zemërimin tim me shëmbëlltyrat e tyre të gdhendura dhe mee idhuj të huaj?".

20 T he harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Korrja ka mbaruar, vera ka marrë fund dhe ne nuk kemi shpëtuar.

21 F or the destruction of the daughter of my people I am devastated; I am in darkness; astonishment has taken hold on me.

Për plagën e bijës së popullit tim jam i dëshpëruar, po mbaj zi, jam i tmerruar.

22 I s there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then was there no medicine for the daughter of my people?

A nuk ka vallë ndonjë balsam në Galaad, a nuk ka atje ndonjë mjek? Pse, pra, nuk po i vjen shërimi bijës së popullit tim?
