1 ¶ Then Bildad, the Shuhite, answered and said,

2 H ow long wilt thou speak such things and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

3 S hall God pervert that which is right or shall the Almighty pervert justice?

A mundet Perëndia të shtrëmbërojë gjykimin dhe i Potfuqishmi të përmbysë drejtësinë?

4 B ecause thy sons sinned against him, he cast them away in the place of their rebellion;

Në rast se bijtë e tu kanë mëkatuar kundër tij, ai i ka braktisur në prapësinë e tyre.

5 i f thou would seek God early and make thy supplication to the Almighty,

Por në rast se ti e kërkon Perëndinë dhe i lutesh fort të Plotfuqishmit,

6 i f thou wert pure and upright, surely now he would awake upon thee and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

në rast se je i pastër dhe i ndershëm, me siguri ai do të ngrihet në favorin tënd dhe do të rivendosë selinë e drejtësisë sate.

7 I n such a way that thy beginning would have been small, in comparison to the great increase of thy latter.

Ndonëse gjendja jote e kaluar ka qenë një gjë e vogël,

8 ¶ Ask, I pray thee, of the former age, and be willing to enquire of thy fathers regarding them;

e ardhmja jote do të jetë e madhe. Pyet, pra, brezat që shkuan dhe shqyrto gjërat e zbuluara nga etërit e tyre;

9 f or we are but of yesterday and know nothing because our days upon earth are as a shadow.

ne në të vërtetë i përkasim së djeshmes dhe nuk dimë asgjë, sepse ditët tona mbi tokë janë si një hije.

10 S hall they not teach thee and tell thee and utter these words out of their heart?

A nuk do të mësojnë vallë ata dhe nuk do të flasin, duke nxjerrë fjalë nga zemra e tyre?

11 C an the rush grow up without mire? Can the meadow grow without water?

A mund të rritet papirusi jashtë moçalit dhe a mund të zhvillohet xunkthi pa ujë?

12 W hilst it is yet in its greenness and not cut down, it withers before any other herb.

Ndërsa është ende i gjelbër, pa qenë prerë, ai thahet para çdo bari tjetër.

13 S o are the paths of all that forget God, and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish.

Këto janë rrugët e të gjithë atyre që harrojnë Perëndinë; kështu shpresa e të paudhit tretet.

14 F or his hope shall be cut off, and his trust is a spider’s web.

Besimi i tij do të pritet dhe sigurimi i tij është si një pëlhurë merimange.

15 H e shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

Ai mbështetet te shtëpia e tij, ajo nuk qëndron; kapet te ajo, por ajo nuk mban.

16 L ike a tree, he is green before the sun, and his branches go forth over his garden;

Ai është krejt i gjelbër në diell dhe degët e tij zgjaten mbi kopshtin e tij;

17 h is roots weave themselves around a spring and secure themselves even in a stony place.

dhe rrënjët e tij pleksen rreth një grumbulli gurësh dhe depërtojnë midis gurëve të shtëpisë.

18 I f he is uprooted from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

Por në rast se shkëputet nga vendi i tij, ky e mohon, duke thënë: "Nuk të kam parë kurrë!".

19 B ehold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth from where he was transplanted, others shall grow.

Ja, ky është gëzimi i mënyrës së tij të të jetuarit, ndërsa të tjerët do të dalin nga pluhuri.

20 ¶ Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man; neither will he help the evil doers.

Ja, Perëndia nuk e flak njeriun e ndershëm, as i ndihmon keqbërësit.

21 H e will yet fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouts of joy.

Ai do t’i japë edhe më buzëqeshje gojës sate dhe këngë gëzimi buzëve të tua.

22 T hose that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

Ata që të urrejnë do të mbulohen me turp dhe çadra e të paudhëve do të zhduket".
