1 ¶ Hearing of this, Jabin, king of Hazor, sent a message unto Jobab, king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron and to the king of Achshaph

Kur Jabini, mbret i Hatsorit, i mësoi këto ngjarje, u dërgoi lajmëtarë Johabit, mbretit të Madonit, mbretit të Shimronit dhe atij të Akshafit,

2 a nd to the kings that were on the north of the mountains and in the plain southward of Chinneroth and in the valley and in the borders of Dor to the west

mbretërve që ndodheshin në veri të zonës malore, në Arabah, në jug të Kinerethit, në ultësirën dhe mbi lartësitë e Dorit, në perëndim,

3 a nd to the Canaanite on the east and on the west and to the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Jebusite in the mountains and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

Kananejve që ishin në lindje dhe në perëndim, Amorejve, Hitejve, Perezejve dhe Jebusejve në krahinën malore, Hivejve në këmbët e malit Hermon në vendin e Mitspahut.

4 A nd they went out, they and all their hosts with them, many people even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with a great multitude of horses and chariots.

Kështu ata dolën, ata vetë me tërë ushtritë e tyre, një turmë shumë e madhe si rëra që është mbi bregun e detit dhe me kuaj e qerre në një numër shumë të madh.

5 A ll these kings united, and as they came they gathered together the camps near the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.

Kështu tërë këta mbretër u bashkuan dhe erdhën në afërsitë e ujërave të Meromit për të ngritur një kamp të përbashkët dhe për të luftuar kundër Izraelit.

6 B ut the LORD said unto Joshua, Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this hour I will deliver them up all slain before Israel; thou shalt hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.

Por Zoti i tha Jozueut: "Mos u tremb nga ata, sepse nesër në këtë orë ke për t’i parë të gjithë të vrarë para Izraelit. Do të presësh leqet e këmbëve të kuajve të tyre dhe do të djegësh qerret e tyre".

7 S o Joshua came against them with all the people of war and fell upon them suddenly by the waters of Merom.

Jozueu, pra, dhe gjithë luftëtarët bashkë me të, marshuan papritmas kundër tyre afër ujërave të Meromit dhe i sulmuan;

8 A nd the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them and chased them unto great Zidon and unto the hot springs and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them no one remaining.

dhe Zoti i dha në duart e Izraelitëve, të cilët i mundën dhe i ndoqën deri në Sidonin e madh, deri në ujërat e Misrefothit dhe në luginën e Mitspahut, në drejtim të lindjes; i mundën deri në atë pikë sa nuk lanë të gjallë asnjë prej tyre.

9 A nd Joshua did unto them as the LORD had commanded him; he hamstrung their horses and burnt their chariots with fire.

Jozueu i trajtoi si i kishte thënë Zoti preu leqet e këmbëve të kuajve të tyre dhe ua dogji qerret.

10 ¶ And Joshua at that time returned and took Hazor and smote the king thereof with the sword because Hazor had been the head of all those kingdoms before.

Në po atë periudhë Jozueu u kthye dhe pushtoi Hatsorin, vrau mbretin e tij me shpatë, sepse në të kaluarën Hatsori kishte qenë kryeqyteti i tërë këtyre mbretërive.

11 A nd they smote all the souls that were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was not any left to breathe; and he burnt Hazor with fire.

Vrau me shpatë tërë njerëzit që gjendeshin aty, duke vendosur shfarosjen e tyre; pastaj i vuri flakën Hatsorit.

12 L ikewise, Joshua took all the cities of those kings and all their kings and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them as Moses the slave of the LORD had commanded him.

Kështu Jozueu pushtoi tërë qytetet e këtyre mbretërive, zuri mbretërit e tyre dhe i vrau me shpatë, duke vendosur shfarosjen e tyre, ashtu si kishte urdhëruar Moisiu, shërbëtori i Zotit.

13 B ut of all the cities that stood on their hills, Israel burned none of them, excepting Hazor only, which Joshua burned.

Por Izraeli nuk u vuri flakën asnjërit prej qyteteve që ngriheshin në kodrinat, me përjashtim të Hatsorit, i vetmi qytet që Jozueu dogji.

14 A nd all the spoil of these cities and the beasts, the sons of Israel took for themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, without leaving any that breathed.

Bijtë e Izraelit morën për vete tërë plaçkën e këtyre qyteteve dhe bagëtinë, por vranë tërë njerëzit dhe nuk lanë shpirt të gjallë.

15 ¶ As the LORD had commanded Moses his slave, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD had commanded Moses.

Ashtu si e kishte urdhëruar Zoti Moisiun, shërbëtorin e tij, kështu Moisiu urdhëroi Jozueun, dhe ky nuk la pas dore asgjë nga tërë ato që Zoti i kishte urdhëruar Moisiut.

16 S o Joshua took all that land, the mountains and all the region of the Negev and all the land of Goshen and the valleys and the plains and the mountain of Israel and its valleys.

Kështu Jozueu shtiu në dorë tërë atë vend, krahinën malore, tërë Negevin, tërë vendin e Goshenit, ultësirën, Arabahun, krahinën malore të Izraelit dhe ultësirat e tij,

17 E ven from Mount Halak that goes up unto Seir unto Baalgad in the plains of Lebanon at the roots of Mount Hermon; likewise he took all their kings and smote them and slew them.

nga mali Holak, që ngrihet në drejtim të Seirit, deri në Baal-Gad në luginën e Libanit në këmbët e malit Hermon; zuri tërë mbretërit e tyre, i goditi dhe i vrau.

18 J oshua made war many days with all those kings.

Jozueu luftoi gjatë kundër të gjithë këtyre mbretërve.

19 T here was not a city that made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon; they took all the others in battle.

Nuk pati qytet që të bënte paqe me bijtë e Izraelit, me përjashtim të Hivejve që banonin në Gabaon; i pushtuan të gjitha me luftë.

20 F or it was of the LORD to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly and that they might have no mercy, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Në fakt ishte Zoti vetë që fortësonte zemrën e tyre që të bënin luftë kundër Izraelit, me qëllim që Izraeli të vendoste shfarosjen e tyre pa asnjë mëshirë për ta, por t’i zhdukte nga faqja e dheut ashtu si e kishte urdhëruar Zoti Moisiun.

21 A lso at the same time Joshua came and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel; Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

Po në këtë periudhë Jozueu u nis në marshim dhe shfarosi Anakitët e krahinës malore, ata të Hebronit, të Debirit, të Anabit, të të gjithë krahinës malore të Judës dhe të të gjithë krahinës malore të Izraelit; Jozueu vendosi shfarosjen e tyre të plotë bashkë me qytetet e tyre.

22 T here were none of the Anakims left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

Nuk mbetën më Anakitë në vendin e bijve të Izraelit; mbetën disa prej tyre vetëm në Gaza, në Gath dhe në Ashod.

23 S o Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

Kështu Jozueu shtiu në dorë tërë vendin, pikërisht ashtu siç i kishte thënë Zoti Moisiut; Jozueu ia la pastaj si trashëgim Izraelit, simbas ndarjeve të tyre në fise. Dhe kështu vendi pati një pushim nga lufta.
