1 ¶ And Solomon, the son of David, was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him and magnified him exceedingly.

Соломон, Давидовият син, се укрепи в царството си; и Господ, неговият Бог, беше с него и твърде много го възвеличи.

2 T hen Solomon spoke unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds and to the judges and to every prince in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.

Тогава Соломон говорѝ на целия Израел, на хилядниците и стотниците, на съдиите и на всички първенци от целия Израел, началниците на бащините домове;

3 S o Solomon and all the congregation with him went to the high place that was at Gibeon, for there was the tabernacle of the testimony of God, which Moses the slave of the LORD had made in the wilderness.

и така, Соломон и цялото общество с него отидоха на високото място, което е в Гаваон; защото там беше Божият шатър за срещане, който Господният слуга Моисей беше направил в пустинята.

4 B ut David had brought the ark of God up from Kirjathjearim to the place which David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

А Давид беше пренесъл Божия ковчег от Кириат-иарим на мястото, което му беше приготвил; защото Давид беше поставил за него шатър в Йерусалим.

5 M oreover, the brasen altar that Bezaleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was there before the tabernacle of the LORD; and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

При това медният жертвеник, който Везелеил, син на Урия, Оровия син, беше направил, беше там, пред Господнята скиния; и Соломон и обществото се обърнаха ревностно към него.

6 A nd Solomon went up there to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the testimony, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

Соломон отиде там, при медния жертвеник пред Господа, който жертвеник беше пред шатъра за срещане, и принесе на него хиляда всеизгаряния.

7 A nd that night God appeared unto Solomon and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

В същата нощ Бог се яви на Соломон и му каза: Искай какво да ти дам.

8 A nd Solomon said unto God, Thou hast showed great mercy unto David, my father, and hast placed me as king in his stead.

А Соломон отговори на Бога: Ти си показал голяма милост към баща ми Давид, като си ме поставил цар вместо него.

9 N ow, O LORD God, let thy word unto David, my father, be established, for thou hast placed me as king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

Сега, Господи Боже, нека се утвърди обещанието, което Ти даде на баща ми Давид; защото Ти ме направи цар над народ, многочислен като праха на земята.

10 G ive me now wisdom and knowledge that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

И така, дай ми мъдрост и разум, за да постъпвам правилно пред този народ; защото кой може да съди този Твой голям народ?

11 A nd God said to Solomon, Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth or glory, nor the life of thy enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou may judge my people, over whom I have placed thee as king,

Бог каза на Соломон: Понеже си имал това в сърцето си и не поиска богатство, имоти и слава, нито живота на онези, които те мразят, нито поиска дълъг живот, а поиска за себе си мъдрост и разум, за да съдиш народа Ми, над който те направих цар,

12 w isdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will also give thee riches and wealth and glory such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall any after thee have the like.

дават ти се мъдрост и разум; при това ще ти дам богатство, имоти и слава, каквито не са имали царете, които са били преди тебе, нито ще имат някои след тебе.

13 ¶ Then Solomon returned to Jerusalem from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tabernacle of the testimony, and reigned over Israel.

Тогава Соломон се върна в Йерусалим от високото място, което е в Гаваон, от пред шатъра за срещане; и царуваше над Израел.

14 A nd Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen, and he had a thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.

Соломон събра колесници и конници и имаше хиляда и четиристотин колесници и дванадесет хиляди конници, които настани по градовете за колесниците и при царя в Йерусалим.

15 A nd the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and he made cedar trees as the sycamore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

И царят направи среброто и златото да бъдат изобилни в Йерусалим като камъни, а кедрите направи по множество като полските черници.

16 A nd Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn; the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

За Соломон докарваха коне от Египет; кервани от царски търговци ги купуваха по стада с определена цена.

17 A nd they went up and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver and a horse for one hundred and fifty; and so they brought out horses for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Syria, by their hands.

А извеждаха и докарваха от Египет всяка колесница за шестстотин сребърни сикъла и всеки кон - за сто и петдесет; също така за всички хетейски царе и за сирийските царе конете им се доставяха чрез тези търговци.
