1 ¶ I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

(По слав. 17.) За първия певец. Псалом на Господния слуга Давид, който е говорил на Господа думите на тази песен в деня, когато Господ го избавил от ръката на всичките му неприятели и от ръката на Саул. И каза: Обичам Те, Господи, сила моя.

2 T he LORD is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Господ е скала моя, крепост моя и избавител мой, Бог мой, канара моя, на Когото се надявам, щит мой, рогът на избавлението ми и високата ми кула.

3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies.

Ще призова Господа, Който е достохвален; така ще бъда избавен от неприятелите си.

4 T he pain of death compassed me, and the rivers of Belial made me afraid.

Връзките на смъртта ме обкръжиха; порои от беззаконие ме уплашиха.

5 T he pain of Sheol compassed me about: the snares of death came before me.

Връзките на преизподнята ме обвиха; примките на смъртта ме стигнаха.

6 I n my distress I called upon the LORD and cried unto my God; he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

В утеснението си призовах Господа и към Бога мой извиках. От храма Си Той чу гласа ми и викът ми пред Него стигна до ушите Му.

7 T hen the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the mountains collapsed and were removed because he was wroth.

Тогава се поклати и потресе земята; основите на планините се разлюляха и се поклатиха, защото Той се разгневи.

8 S moke went up out of his nostrils, and fire devoured out of his mouth; coals were kindled by it.

Дим се издигаше от ноздрите Му и огън от устата Му поглъщаше; въглени се разпалиха от Него.

9 H e lowered the heavens and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

Той сведе небесата и слезе; и мрак беше под краката Му.

10 A nd he rode upon a cherub and flew: yea, he flew upon the wings of the wind.

Възседна херувим и летя; летя на ветрени криле.

11 H e made darkness his hiding place; in his tabernacle round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the heavens.

Положи за Свое скривалище тъмнината, за покров около Си - тъмните води, гъстите въздушни облаци.

12 A t the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

От святкането пред Него преминаха през облаците Му град и огнени въглени.

13 T he LORD thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

И гръмна Господ от небето, Всевишният даде гласа Си, град и огнени въглени.

14 H e sent out his arrows and scattered them; he shot out lightnings and destroyed them.

И прати стрелите Си и ги разпръсна. Да! Светкавици в изобилие - и ги смути.

15 T hen the depths of the waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

Тогава се разкриха коритата на водите, откриха се основите на вселената от Твоето изобличение, Господи, от духането на дъха на ноздрите Ти.

16 H e sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

Пра̀ти от височината, взе ме, извлече ме от големи води.

17 H e delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me, even though they were too strong for me.

Избави ме от силния ми неприятел, от онези, които ме мразеха; защото бяха по-силни от мене.

18 T hey were ready for me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my staff.

Стигнаха ме в деня на бедствието ми; но Господ ми стана опора.

19 H e brought me forth also into a wide place; he delivered me because he delighted in me.

И ме изведе на широко, избави ме, защото имаше благоволение към мене.

20 ¶ The LORD will reward me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he shall recompense me.

Въздаде ми Господ според правдата ми; според чистотата на ръцете ми ме възнагради,

21 B ecause I have kept the ways of the LORD and did not become wicked departing in apostasy from my God.

защото съм опазил пътищата Господни и не съм се отклонил от Бога мой в нечестие.

22 F or all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

Защото всичките Му закони са били пред мен и от наредбите Му не съм се отдалечил.

23 I was perfect before him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.

Непорочен бях пред Него и се опазих от беззаконието си.

24 T herefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands before his eyes.

Затова Господ ми въздаде според правдата ми, според чистотата на ръцете ми пред очите Му.

25 W ith the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; with a perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;

Към милостивия, Господи, милостив ще се явиш, към непорочния непорочен ще се явиш.

26 w ith the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the perverse thou wilt show thyself adversary.

Към чистия чист ще се явиш и към развратния противен ще се явиш.

27 T herefore thou wilt save the humble people; but wilt bring down high looks.

Защото оскърбен народ Ти ще спасиш; а очи горделиви ще смириш.

28 F or thou wilt light my fire: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

Защото Ти ще запалиш светилото ми; Господ, Бог мой, ще озари тъмнината ми.

29 ¶ For with thee I have scattered armies; and in my God I have overcome walled defenses.

Защото чрез Тебе разбивам дружина; чрез Бога мой прескачам стена.

30 A s for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is precise: a shield to all those that wait in him.

Колкото до Бога, Неговият път е съвършен; словото на Господа е опитано; Той е щит на всички, които уповават на Него.

31 F or who is God except the LORD? or who is a refuge except our God?

Защото кой е Бог освен Господ? И кой е канара освен нашият Бог?

32 I t is God that girds me with strength and makes my way perfect.

Бог, Който ме препасва със сила и прави съвършен пътя ми,

33 H e makes my feet like hinds’ feet and sets me upon my high places.

Той прави краката ми като краката на елените и ме поставя на високите ми места.

34 H e trains my hands for the battle, so that a bow of bronze shall be broken by my arms.

Учи ръцете ми да воюват, така че мишците ми опъват меден лък.

35 I n the same manner thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand will hold me up, and thy meekness shall multiply me.

Ти си ми дал и щит на избавлението Си; Твоята десница ме е поддържала и Твоята благост ме е направила велик.

36 T hou shall enlarge my steps under me, and my knees shall not tremble.

Ти си разширил стъпките ми под мен; и краката ми не се подхлъзнаха.

37 I shall pursue my enemies and overtake them: neither shall I turn again until they are consumed.

Гоних неприятелите си и ги стигнах, и не се върнах, докато не ги довърших.

38 I shall smite them, and they will not be able to rise: they shall fall under my feet.

Стрих ги и не можаха да се повдигнат; паднаха под краката ми.

39 F or thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued my enemies under me.

Защото си ме препасал със сила за бой; повалил си под мене въставащите против мене.

40 T hou hast also given me the necks of my enemies that I might destroy those that hate me.

Сторил си да обърнат гръб към мене неприятелите ми, за да изтребя онези, които ме мразят.

41 T hey cried out, but there was no one to save them: even unto the LORD, but he did not answer them.

Извикаха, но нямаше избавител; към Господа викаха, но не ги послуша.

42 T hen I beat them as small as the dust before the wind: I scattered them as the dirt in the streets.

Тогава ги стрих като прах пред вятъра; изхвърлих ги като кал на пътя.

43 T hou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the Gentiles: a people whom I did not know served me.

Ти си ме избавил и от съпротивленията на народа; поставил си ме глава на народите; народ, който не познавах, слугува на мене;

44 A s soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me: the sons of strangers submitted themselves unto me even against their will.

щом чуха за мене, те ме послушаха; даже чужденците се преструваха, че ми се покоряват.

45 T he strangers fell away and were afraid in their close places.

Чужденците отслабнаха и разтреперани излязоха от яките си скривалища.

46 T he LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Жив е Господ и благословена да бъде Канарата ми, и да се възвиси Бог на избавлението ми,

47 I t is God that avenges me and subdues the peoples under me.

Бог, Който въздава мъст за мен и покорява под мене племена,

48 H e delivers me from my enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the one who would betray me.

Който ме избавя от неприятелите ми. Да! Ти ме възвисяваш над въставащите против мен, избавяш ме от насилника.

49 T herefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the Gentiles and sing praises unto thy name.

Затова ще Те хваля, Господи, между народите и на името Ти ще пея.

50 H e gives great deliverance to his king and shows mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

Ти си, Който даваш велико избавление на царя Си и показваш милосърдие към помазаника Си, към Давид и към потомството му до века.
