1 ¶ Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim and to the open flower of the beauty of their glory which is upon the head of the fertile valley of those that are overcome with wine!

Горко на горделивия венец на Ефремовите пияници и на повехналия цвят на славната му красота, който е на върха на плодородните долини на онези, които се обладават от вино!

2 B ehold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one who as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

Ето, от Господа идва един мощен и силен, който, като буря с град и опустошителна вихрушка, като буря от силни прелели води, ще ги хвърли с ръката си на земята.

3 T he crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

Горделивият венец на Ефремовите пияници ще бъде тъпкан под крака;

4 A nd the fading flower of the beauty of their glory, which is upon the head of the fertile valley, shall be as the early fig, which comes first before the other fruits of the summer; which when he that looks upon it sees it; as soon as he has it in his hand, he eats it up.

и повехналият цвят на славната им красота, който е на върха на тлъстата долина, ще стане като раннозряла смокиня преди лятото, която, щом я вземе в ръка онзи, който я види, я поглъща.

5 I n that day the LORD of the hosts shall be for a crown of glory and for a diadem of beauty unto the residue of his people,

В онзи ден Господ на Силите ще бъде славен венец и красива корона за останалите от народа Си,

6 A nd for a spirit of judgment to him that sits upon the throne of judgment, and for strength to those that turn the battle to the gate.

и дух на правосъдие за онзи, който сяда да съди, и сила за тези, които отблъсват неприятеля до портата му.

7 B ut they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink; they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

Но и те се замаяха от виното и се заблудиха от спиртното питие; свещеник и пророк загубиха разсъдъка си от спиртно питие, обладани бяха от вино, заблудиха се от спиртно питие, объркаха се във видението, спънаха се в съденето,

8 F or all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.

защото всички трапези са пълни с бълвоч и гнусота, така че няма чисто място.

9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Those that are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts.

Кого, казваш ти, ще научи той на знание? И кого ще направи да разбере каквото чуе? Отбитите от мляко ли? Отделените от гърди ли?

10 F or precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Защото дава заповед след заповед, заповед след заповед, правило след правило, правило след правило, тук малко, там малко.

11 F or with stammering lips and another tongue he will speak to this people.

Наистина с гъгниви устни и с друг език ще говори на този народ

12 T o whom he said, This is the rest with which ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

онзи, който им беше казал: Тази е почивката ви; и успокойте уморения; и това е освежаването ви; но те не искаха да слушат.

13 B ut the word of the LORD shall be unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go and fall backward and be broken and snared and taken.

Затова словото Господне ще стане за тях заповед след заповед, заповед след заповед, правило след правило, правило след правило, тук малко, там малко, така че, като ходят, да паднат по гръб и да се съкрушат, да се впримчат и да се хванат.

14 ¶ Therefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that have taken rule over this people which is in Jerusalem.

Затова слушайте словото Господне, вие, присмиватели, които господствате над този народ, който е в Йерусалим.

15 B ecause ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we are at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood we have hid ourselves:

Понеже сте казали: Ние сключихме договор със смъртта и се съгласихме с преизподнята, че когато заливащата беда минава, да не дойде до нас, защото си направихме лъжата прибежище и под измама се скрихме.

16 T herefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.

Затова така казва Господ Йехова: Ето, полагам в Сион камък за основа, камък избран, скъпоценен, крайъгълен, за твърда основа; който вярва в него, няма да прибърза да бяга.

17 J udgment also will I lay to the line and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Ще направя от правосъдието връвта и от правдата - отвеса; и градушка ще помете прибежището при лъжи и водата ще наводни скривалището.

18 A nd your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

Договорът ви със смъртта ще бъде унищожен и съглашението ви с преизподнята няма да устои; когато заливащата беда минава, тогава ще бъдете стъпкани от нея.

19 F rom the time that it goes forth, it shall take you: for it shall come suddenly, by day and by night: and it shall be that the terror only causes one to understand the report.

Колкото пъти минава, ще ви улавя; защото всяка сутрин ще минава, денем и нощем; и само слуха за нея да чуе някой, ще се изплаши.

20 F or the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

Защото леглото е твърде късо, за да може някой да се протегне на него. И завивката - твърде тясна, за да може някой да се завие с нея.

21 F or the LORD shall rise up as in Mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

Защото Господ ще стане, както на хълма Ферасим, ще се разгневи, както в долината Гаваон, за да извърши работата Си, пречудната Си работа, и да изпълни делото Си, удивителното Си дело.

22 N ow therefore do not be mockers lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of the hosts that consumption and destruction are determined upon the whole earth.

И така, сега не ставайте присмиватели, да не би да се стегнат оковите ви по-яко; защото аз чух от Господа Йехова на Силите, че ще бъде извършено погубване, и то предрешено, по цялата страна.

23 ¶ Give ye ear and hear my voice; hearken and hear my speech.

Дайте ухо и слушайте гласа ми. Внимавайте и слушайте думите ми:

24 D oes the plowman plow all day to sow? does he open and break the clods of his ground?

Орачът всеки ден ли оре, за да посее? Всеки ден ли разтваря бразди и разбива буците на нивата си?

25 W hen he has levelled the face thereof, does he not cast abroad the fitches and scatter the cummin and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rye in their place?

Като изравни лицето ѝ, не пръска ли къклица и посява кимион, и сади жито в редове, и ечемика - на определеното му място, и лимеца наоколо?

26 F or his God teaches him to know how to judge and instructs him.

Защото Неговият Бог го учи на разсъдък и го поучава.

27 F or the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff and the cummin with a rod.

Защото не се вършее къклица с диканя, нито колело от кола се завърта върху кимиона; а с тояга се очуква къклицата и с прът - кимионът.

28 G rain is thrashed to make bread; but he will not ever be threshing it, nor shall he grind it with the wheel of his cart, nor crush it with the teeth of his thrashing instrument.

А житото за хляб ще се сдроби ли? Не; човек не го вършее завинаги, нито го стрива с колелото на колата си, нито го разтрошава с копитата на конете си.

29 T his also comes forth from the LORD of the hosts to make his counsel wonderful, and to increase wisdom.

Също и това произлиза от Господа на Силите, Който е чудесен в съвет, превъзходен в мъдрост.
