1 ¶ Then David said, This shall be the house of the LORD God, and this shall be the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

2 A nd David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel, and he made them masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

И Давид заповяда да съберат чужденците, които бяха в Израелевата земя; и накара каменоделците да изсекат и издялат камъни за построяването на Божия дом.

3 L ikewise, David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings, and brass in abundance without weight,

Давид приготви и много желязо за гвоздеи, за вратите на портите и за скобите, и мед - толкова много, че превишаваше теглото,

4 a lso cedar trees in abundance, for the Zidonians and those of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

и кедрови дървета без брой; защото сидонците и тиряните донасяха на Давид много кедрови дървета.

5 A nd David said, Solomon, my son, is yet young and tender, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be magnificent par excellence, of fame and of glory throughout all lands; I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

Защото Давид си казваше: Понеже синът ми Соломон е млад и нежен и домът, който ще бъде построен на Господа, трябва да бъде извънредно великолепен, прочут и славен в цялата вселена, затова ще направя приготовление за него. И така, Давид направи голямо приготовление преди смъртта си.

6 ¶ Then he called for Solomon, his son, and charged him to build a house for the LORD God of Israel.

Тогава повика сина си Соломон и му заръча да построи дом за Господа, Израелевия Бог.

7 A nd David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my heart to build a house unto the name of the LORD my God;

Давид каза на Соломон: Сине мой, аз пожелах в сърцето си да построя дом за името на Господа, моя Бог;

8 b ut the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly and hast made great wars; thou shalt not build a house unto my name because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

но Господнето слово дойде до мен и каза: Много кръв си пролял и големи войни си водил; ти няма да построиш дом за името Ми, защото си пролял много кръв на земята пред Мен.

9 B ehold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about, for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

Ето, ще ти се роди син, който ще бъде спокоен човек, защото ще го успокоя от всички неприятели около него; понеже Соломон ще му бъде името и в неговите дни ще дам мир и тишина на Израел;

10 H e shall build a house for my name, and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

той ще построи дом за името Ми; и той ще Ми бъде син и Аз ще му бъда Отец, и ще утвърдя престола на царството му над Израел довека.

11 N ow, my son, the LORD be with thee, and be thou prospered and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he has said of thee.

Сега, сине мой, Господ да бъде с теб; а ти да благоуспееш, за да построиш дома на Господа, твоя Бог, както Той е говорил за тебе.

12 O nly the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding and give thee commandments for Israel, and that thou keep the law of the LORD thy God.

Само да ти даде Господ мъдрост и разум и да те упътва за управлението на Израел, за да пазиш закона на Господа, твоя Бог.

13 T hen shalt thou be prospered if thou shalt keep thyself to do the statutes and rights which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel; be strong and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

Ако внимаваш да изпълняваш наредбите и законите, които Господ заповяда на Моисей за Израел, тогава ще благоуспееш. Бъди силен и храбър, не бой се и не се страхувай.

14 N ow, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD one hundred thousand talents of gold and a thousand thousand talents of silver, and the brass and iron are without weight, for it is in abundance. Likewise, I have prepared timber and stone, unto which thou shalt add.

Ето, аз в смирението си съм приготвил за Господния дом сто хиляди таланта злато и един милион таланта сребро, а мед и желязо без тегло, защото е много; приготвил съм и дървета и камъни, към които може ти да прибавиш още.

15 M oreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber and all manner of expert men for every manner of work.

А имам и доста много работници - каменоделци, зидари, дърводелци и работници, изкусни във всякакъв вид работа.

16 O f the gold, the silver, and the brass and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and go to work, and the LORD be with thee.

Златото, среброто, медта и желязото са без брой. Стани и действай; и Господ да бъде с тебе!

17 ¶ David, likewise, commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon, his son, saying,

Давид заповяда и на всички Израелеви първенци да помагат на сина му Соломон, като каза:

18 I s not the LORD your God with you who has given you rest on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the LORD and before his people.

Не е ли с вас Господ, вашият Бог, и не ви ли даде спокойствие отвсякъде? Защото предаде в моята ръка жителите на тази земя; и земята се подчини пред Господа и пред Неговия народ.

19 N ow set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built unto the name of the LORD.

И така, утвърдете сърцето и душата си да търсите Господа, вашия Бог; и станете и постройте светилището на Господа Бога, за да донесете ковчега на Господния завет и святите Божии вещи в дома, който ще бъде построен за Господнето име.
