1 ¶ Again, David gathered together all the chosen of Israel, thirty thousand.

David a strîns iarăş pe toţi aleşii lui Israel, în număr de treizeci de mii de oameni.

2 A nd David arose and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah to bring up from there the ark of God upon which the name of the LORD of the hosts is invoked, who dwells there between the cherubim.

Şi David, cu tot poporul care era cu el, a pornit dela Baale-Iuda, ca să suie de acolo chivotul lui Dumnezeu, înaintea căruia este chemat Numele Domnului oştirilor, care stă între Heruvimi deasupra chivotului.

3 A nd they set the ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah, and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab drove the new cart.

Au pus chivotul lui Dumnezeu într'un car nou, şi l-au ridicat din casa lui Abinadab, de pe deal; Uza şi Ahio, fiul lui Abinadab, cîrmuiau carul cel nou.

4 A nd when they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was at Gibeah, with the ark of God, Ahio went before the ark.

L-au luat dar din casa lui Abinadab de pe deal; Uza mergea alături de chivotul lui Dumnezeu, şi Ahio mergea înaintea chivotului.

5 A nd David and all the house of Israel danced before the LORD with all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps and on psalteries and on timbrels and on cornets and on cymbals.

David şi toată casa lui Israel cîntau înaintea Domnului cu tot felul de instrumente de lemn de chiparos, cu arfe, cu lăute, cu timpane, cu fluere şi cu ţimbale.

6 ¶ And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen shook it.

Cînd au ajuns la aria lui Nacon, Uza a întins mîna spre chivotul lui Dumnezeu şi l -a apucat, pentrucă erau să -l răstoarne boii.

7 A nd the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God smote him there for his effrontery, and there he died by the ark of God.

Domnul S'a aprins de mînie împotriva lui Uza, şi Dumnezeu l -a lovit pe loc pentru păcatul lui, şi a murit acolo lîngă chivotul lui Dumnezeu.

8 A nd David was grieved because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah, and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.

David s'a întristat că Dumnezeu lovise pe Uza cu o astfel de pedeapsă, rupîndu -l pe loc. Şi locul acesta a fost numit pînă în ziua de azi Pereţ-Uza (Ruperea lui Uza).

9 A nd David was afraid of the LORD that day and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

David s'a temut de Domnul în ziua aceea, şi a zis:,, Cum să intre chivotul Domnului la mine?``

10 S o David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David, but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom, the Gittite.

N'a vrut să aducă chivotul Domnului la el în cetatea lui David, şi l -a dus în casa lui Obed-Edom din Gat.

11 A nd the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months; and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.

Chivotul Domnului a rămas trei luni în casa lui Obed-Edom din Gat, şi Domnul a binecuvîntat pe Obed-Edom şi toată casa lui.

12 ¶ And it was told King David, saying, The LORD has blessed the house of Obededom and all that pertains unto him because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

Au venit şi au spus împăratului David:,, Domnul a binecuvîntat casa lui Obed-Edom şi tot ce avea, din pricina chivotului lui Dumnezeu.`` Atunci David a pornit, şi a suit chivotul lui Dumnezeu din casa lui Obed-Edom în cetatea lui David, în mijlocul veseliei.

13 A nd it was so that when those that bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

Cînd ceice duceau chivotul Domnului au făcut şase paşi, au jertfit un bou şi un viţel gras.

14 A nd David danced before the LORD with all his might, and David was girded with a linen ephod.

David juca din răsputeri înaintea Domnului, şi era încins cu efodul de in subţire.

15 S o David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the shofar.

Astfel au suit David şi toată casa lui Israel chivotul Domnului, în strigăte de bucurie şi în sunet de trîmbiţe.

16 A nd as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, and she despised him in her heart.

Pe cînd chivotul Domnului intra în cetatea lui David, Mical, fata lui Saul, se uita pe fereastră; şi, văzînd pe împăratul David sărind şi jucînd înaintea Domnului, l -a dispreţuit în inima ei.

17 A nd they brought in the ark of the LORD and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it, and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

După ce au adus chivotul Domnului, l-au pus la locul lui în mijlocul cortului pe care -l ridicase David pentru chivot; şi David a adus... înaintea Domnului arderi de tot şi jertfe de mulţămire.

18 A nd as soon as David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of the hosts.

Cînd a isprăvit David de adus arderile de tot şi jertfele de mulţămire, a binecuvîntat poporul în Numele Domnului oştirilor.

19 A nd he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, to the men as well to the women, to each one a cake of bread and a good piece of flesh and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed each one to his house.

Apoi a împărţit la tot poporul, la toată mulţimea lui Israel, bărbaţi şi femei, fiecăruia cîte o pîne, o bucată de carne şi o turtă de stafide. Şi tot poporul a plecat, fiecare la casa lui.

20 ¶ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal, the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the king of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his slaves as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!

David s'a întors să-şi binecuvinteze casa. Mical, fata lui Saul, i -a ieşit înainte, şi a zis:,, Cu cîtă cinste s'a purtat azi împăratul lui Israel descoperindu-se înaintea slujnicelor supuşilor lui, cum s'ar descoperi un om... de nimic!``

21 T hen David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, who chose me over thy father and over all his house to appoint me prince over the people of the LORD, over Israel; therefore, I will dance before the LORD.

David a răspuns Micalei:,,Înaintea Domnului, care m'a ales mai pe sus de tatăl tău şi de toată casa lui, ca să mă pună căpetenie peste poporul Domnului, peste Israel, înaintea Domnului am jucat.

22 A nd I will yet be more vile than thus and will be base in my own sight and before the maidservants whom thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

Vreau să mă arăt şi mai de nimic de cît de data asta, şi să mă înjosesc în ochii mei; totuş voi fi în cinste la slujnicele de cari vorbeşti.``

23 T herefore, Michal, the daughter of Saul, had no children unto the day of her death.

Şi Mical, fata lui Saul, n'a avut copii pînă în ziua morţii ei.
