1 ¶ Hear my prayer, O LORD; give ear to my supplications for the sake of thy truth; answer me for the sake of thy righteousness.

(Un psalm al lui David.) Doamne, ascultă-mi rugăciunea, pleacă-Ţi urechea la cererile mele! Ascultă-mă în credincioşia şi dreptatea Ta!

2 A nd enter not into judgment with thy slave; for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

Nu intra la judecată cu robul Tău! Căci nici un om viu nu este fără prihană înaintea Ta.

3 F or the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has smitten my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.

Vrăjmaşul îmi urmăreşte sufletul, îmi calcă viaţa în picioare la pămînt: mă face să locuiesc în întunerec, ca cei ce au murit de multă vreme.

4 T herefore my spirit has become overwhelmed within me; my heart within me has become desolate.

Îmi este mîhnit duhul în mine, îmi este turburată inima în lăuntrul meu.

5 I remembered the days of old; I meditated on all thy works; I mused on the work of thy hands.

Mi-aduc aminte de zilele de odinioară, mă gîndesc la toate lucrările Tale, cuget la lucrarea mînilor Tale.

6 I stretched forth my hands unto thee; my soul thirsted after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

Îmi întînd mînile spre Tine; îmi suspină sufletul după Tine, ca un pămînt uscat. -

7 ¶ Hear me speedily, O LORD; my spirit fails; hide not thy face from me lest I be like those that go down into the grave.

Grăbeşte de m'ascultă, Doamne! Mi se topeşte duhul: nu-mi ascunde Faţa Ta! Căci aş ajunge atunci ca cei ce se pogoară în groapă!

8 C ause me to hear thy mercy in the morning, for in thee do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Fă-mă să aud disdedimineaţă bunătatea Ta, căci mă încred în Tine. Arată-mi calea pe care trebuie să umblu, căci la Tine îmi înalţ sufletul.

9 D eliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; I flee unto thee.

Scapă-mă de vrăjmaşii mei, Doamne, căci la Tine caut adăpost.

10 T each me to do thy will, for thou art my God. Let thy good Spirit lead me into the land of uprightness.

Învaţă-mă să fac voia Ta, căci Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu. Duhul Tău cel bun să mă călăuzească pe calea cea dreaptă!

11 B y thy name, O LORD, thou shalt give me life; by thy righteousness thou shalt bring my soul out of trouble.

Pentru Numele Tău, Doamne, înviorează-mă; în dreptatea Ta, scoate-mi sufletul din necaz!

12 A nd by thy mercy thou shalt scatter my enemies and destroy all the adversaries of my soul; for I am thy slave.

În bunătatea Ta, nimiceşte pe vrăjmaşii mei, şi perde pe toţi protivnicii sufletului meu, căci eu sînt robul Tău.
