1 ¶ And the lot of the sons of Joseph fell from the Jordan of Jericho unto the water of Jericho towards the east to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho to Mount Bethel,

Partea căzută la sorţi fiilor lui Iosif se întindea dela Iordan, lîngă Ierihon, spre apele Ierihonului, la răsărit. Hotarul urma pustia care se ridică dela Ierihon la Betel prin munte.

2 a nd from Bethel going to Luz and passing the border of Archi in Ataroth,

Mergea mai departe dela Betel la Luz, şi trecea spre hotarul Archiţilor prin Atarot.

3 a nd turns to descend to the westward sea to the border of Japhleti until the border of Bethhoron the lower, and to Gezer, and comes out at the sea.

Apoi se pogora la apus spre hotarul Iafletiţilor, pînă la hotarul Bet-Horonului de jos şi pînă la Ghezer, ieşind la mare.

4 S o the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

Acolo şi-au primit moştenirea fiii lui Iosif: Manase şi Efraim.

5 ¶ And this was the border of the sons of Ephraim according to their families; this was the border of their inheritance on the east side from Atarothaddar unto Bethhoron the upper;

Iată hotarele fiilor lui Efraim, după familiile lor. Hotarul moştenirii lor era, la răsărit, Atarot-Adar pînă la Bet-Horonul de sus.

6 a nd this border comes out to the sea and to Michmethah on the north side; and this border goes around eastward unto Taanathshiloh and from here passes on the east to Janohah;

Ieşea spre mare la Micmetat în partea de miazănoapte, se întorcea la răsărit pînă la Taanat-Silo, şi trecea în spre răsărit prin Ianoah.

7 a nd from Janohah it goes down to Ataroth and to Naarath, and touches in Jericho and comes out at the Jordan.

Din Ianoah pogora la Atarot şi la Naarata, atingea Ierihonul, şi mergea pînă la Iordan.

8 A nd from Tappuah this border turns towards the westward sea at the river Kanah and comes out at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim by their families.

Din Tapuah mergea spre apus pînă la pîrîul Cana, şi ieşea la mare. Aceasta a fost moştenirea seminţiei fiilor lui Efraim, după familiile lor.

9 T here were also cities separated for the sons of Ephraim among the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

Fiii lui Efraim aveau şi cetăţi deosebite în mijlocul moştenirii fiilor lui Manase, toate cu satele lor.

10 A nd they did not drive out the Canaanite that dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanite remained in the midst of Ephraim unto this day and served under tribute.

Ei n'au izgonit pe Cananiţii cari locuiau în Ghezer, şi Cananiţii au locuit în mijlocul lui Efraim pînă în ziua de azi, dar au fost puşi să plătească un bir.
