1 ¶ Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

(Un psalm al lui David. O cîntare.) Ferice de cel cu fărădelegea iertată, şi de cel cu păcatul acoperit!

2 B lessed is the man unto whom the LORD does not impute iniquity and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Ferice de omul, căruia nu -i ţine în seamă Domnul nelegiuirea, şi în duhul căruia nu este viclenie!

3 W hen I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

Cîtă vreme am tăcut, mi se topeau oasele de gemetele mele necurmate.

4 F or day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my green growth is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

Căci zi şi noapte mîna Ta apăsa asupra mea; mi se usca vlaga cum se usucă pămîntul de seceta verii.

5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and I have not hid my iniquity. I said, I will confess (against myself) my rebellions unto the LORD, and thou shalt forgive the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Atunci Ţi-am mărturisit păcatul meu, şi nu mi-am ascuns fărădelegea. Am zis:,,Îmi voi mărturisi Domnului fărădelegile!`` Şi Tu ai iertat vina păcatului meu.

6 F or this shall every one that is merciful pray unto thee in the time when thou may be found; surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near unto him.

De aceea orice om evlavios să se roage Ţie la vreme potrivită! Şi chiar de s'ar vărsa ape mari, pe el nu -l vor atinge de loc.

7 ¶ Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Tu eşti ocrotirea mea, Tu mă scoţi din necaz, Tu mă înconjuri cu cîntări de izbăvire.

8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will fix mine eyes upon thee.

Eu-zice Domnul-te voi învăţa, şi-ţi voi arăta calea pe care trebuie s'o urmezi, te voi sfătui, şi voi avea privirea îndreptată asupra ta.``

9 B e ye not as the horse or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in subjection with bit and bridle, or they will not come near unto thee.

Nu fiţi ca un cal sau ca un catîr fără pricepere, pe cari -i struneşti cu un frîu şi o zăbală cu cari -i legi, ca să nu se apropie de tine. -

10 T here are many sorrows for the wicked; but he that waits in the LORD, mercy shall compass him round about.

De multe dureri are parte cel rău, dar cel ce se încrede în Domnul, este înconjurat cu îndurarea Lui.

11 B e glad in the LORD and rejoice, ye righteous, and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Neprihăniţilor, bucuraţi-vă în Domnul şi veseliţi-vă! Scoateţi strigăte de bucurie, toţi cei cu inima fără prihană!
