1 ¶ And there was given me a reed like unto a rod, and he said unto me, Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those that worship therein.

Apoi mi s'a dat o trestie asemenea unei prăjini, şi mi s'a zis:,, Scoală-te şi măsoară Templul lui Dumnezeu, altarul şi pe cei ce se închină în el.

2 B ut leave out the court which is within the temple and measure it not, for it is given unto the Gentiles, and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty-two months.

Dar curtea de afară a Templului lasă -o la o parte nemăsurată; căci a fost dată Neamurilor, cari vor călca în picioare sfînta cetate patruzeci şi două de luni.

3 ¶ And I will give my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

Voi da celor doi marturi ai mei să proorocească, îmbrăcaţi în saci, o mie două sute şase zeci de zile.

4 T hese are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth.

Aceştia sînt cei doi măslini şi cele două sfeşnice, cari stau înaintea Domnului pămîntului.

5 A nd if anyone desires to hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies; and if anyone desires to hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

Dacă umblă cineva să le facă rău, le iese din gură un foc, care mistuie pe vrăjmaşii lor; şi dacă vrea cineva să le facă rău, trebuie să piară în felul acesta.

6 T hese have power to shut the heaven, that it not rain in the days of their prophecy and have power over the waters to turn them to blood and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Ei au putere să închidă cerul, ca să nu cadă ploaie în zilele proorociei lor; şi au putere să prefacă apele în sînge, şi să lovească pămîntul cu orice fel de urgie, oridecîteori vor voi.

7 A nd when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them and shall overcome them and kill them.

Cînd îşi vor isprăvi mărturisirea lor, fiara, care se ridică din Adînc, va face război cu ei, îi va birui şi -i va omorî.

8 A nd their dead bodies shall lie in the streets of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Şi trupurile lor moarte vor zăcea în piaţa cetăţii celei mari, care, în înţeles duhovnicesc, se cheamă,, Sodoma`` şi,, Egipt``, unde a fost răstignit şi Domnul lor.

9 A nd those of the peoples and kindreds and tongues and Gentiles shall see their dead bodies three days and a half and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

Şi oameni din orice norod, din orice seminţie, de orice limbă şi de orice neam, vor sta trei zile şi jumătate, şi vor privi trupurile lor moarte, şi nu vor da voie ca trupurile lor moarte să fie puse în mormînt.

10 A nd those that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them and make merry and shall send gifts one to another because these two prophets tormented those that dwelt on the earth.

Şi locuitorii de pe pămînt se vor bucura şi se vor veseli de ei; şi îşi vor trimete daruri unii altora, pentrucă aceşti doi prooroci chinuiseră pe locuitorii pămîntului.

11 A nd after three days and a half, the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon those who saw them.

Dar după cele trei zile şi jumătate, duhul de viaţă dela Dumnezeu a intrat în ei, şi s'au ridicat în picioare, şi o mare frică a apucat pe ceice i-au văzut.

12 A nd they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up here. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

Şi au auzit din cer un glas tare, care le zicea:,, Suiţi-vă aici!`` Şi s'au suit într'un nor spre cer; iar vrăjmaşii lor i-au văzut.

13 A nd in the same hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain the names of seven thousand men; and the others were frightened and gave glory to the God of heaven.

În clipa aceea s'a făcut un mare cutremur de pămînt, şi s'a prăbuşit a zecea parte din cetate. Şapte mii de oameni au fost ucişi în cutremurul acesta de pămînt. Şi cei rămaşi, s'au îngrozit şi au dat slavă Dumnezeului cerului.

14 ¶ The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe comes quickly.

A doua nenorocire a trecut. Iată că a treia nenorocire vine curînd.

15 A nd the seventh angel sounded the trumpet, and there were great voices in the heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are reduced unto our Lord and to his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Îngerul, al şaptelea a sunat din trîmbiţă. Şi în cer s'au auzit glasuri puternice, cari ziceau:,,Împărăţia lumii a trecut în mînile Domnului nostru şi ale Hristosului Său. Şi El va împărăţi în vecii vecilor.``

16 A nd the twenty-four elders, who sat before God on their thrones, fell upon their faces and worshipped God,

Şi cei douăzeci şi patru de bătrîni, cari stăteau înaintea lui Dumnezeu pe scaunele lor de domnie, s'au aruncat cu feţele la pămînt, şi s'au închinat lui Dumnezeu,

17 s aying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, who art and wast, and art to come because thou hast taken to thee thy great power and hast reigned.

şi au zis:,,Îţi mulţămim Doamne, Dumnezeule, Atotputernice, care eşti şi care erai şi care vii, că ai pus mîna pe puterea Ta cea mare, şi ai început să împărăţeşti.

18 A nd the Gentiles were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou should give the reward unto thy slaves the prophets and to the saints and those that fear thy name, to the small and to the great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth.

Neamurile se mîniaseră, dar a venit mînia Ta; a venit vremea să judeci pe cei morţi, să răsplăteşti pe robii Tăi prooroci, pe sfinţi şi pe cei ce se tem de Numele Tău, mici şi mari, şi să prăpădeşti pe cei ce prăpădesc pămîntul!``

19 A nd the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his testament was seen in his temple: and there were lightnings and voices and thunderings and earthquakes and great hail.

Şi Templul lui Dumnezeu, care este în cer, a fost deschis: şi s'a văzut chivotul legămîntului Său, în Templul Său. Şi au fost fulgere, glasuri, tunete, un cutremur de pămînt, şi o grindină mare.
