1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

Sabe, porém, isto, que nos últimos dias sobrevirão tempos penosos;

2 F or there shall be men who are lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, evil speakers, disobedient to their parents, unthankful, impure,

pois os homens serão amantes de si mesmos, gananciosos, presunçosos, soberbos, blasfemos, desobedientes a seus pais, ingratos, ímpios,

3 w ithout natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, without temperance, without meekness, without goodness,

sem afeição natural, implacáveis, caluniadores, incontinentes, cruéis, inimigos do bem,

4 t raitors, rash, puffed up, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God,

traidores, atrevidos, orgulhosos, mais amigos dos deleites do que amigos de Deus,

5 h aving the appearance of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

tendo aparência de piedade, mas negando-lhe o poder. Afasta- te também desses.

6 F or of this sort are those who creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with various lusts,

Porque deste número são os que se introduzem pelas casas, e levam cativas mulheres néscias carregadas de pecados, levadas de várias concupiscências;

7 e ver learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

sempre aprendendo, mas nunca podendo chegar ao pleno conhecimento da verdade.

8 A nd in the manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth, men of corrupt understanding, reprobate concerning the faith.

E assim como Janes e Jambres resistiram a Moisés, assim também estes resistem ã verdade, sendo homens corruptos de entendimento e réprobos quanto ã fé.

9 B ut they shall not prevail, for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as that of those also was.

Não irão, porém, avante; porque a todos será manifesta a sua insensatez, como também o foi a daqueles.

10 ¶ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

Tu, porém, tens observado a minha doutrina, procedimento, intenção, fé, longanimidade, amor, perseverança,

11 p ersecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra, persecutions I have endured, and the Lord delivered me out of them all.

as minhas perseguições e aflições, quais as que sofri em Antioquia, em Icônio, em Listra; quantas perseguições suportei! e de todas o Senhor me livrou.

12 A nd all that desire to live godly in Christ Jesus shall also suffer persecution.

E na verdade todos os que querem viver piamente em Cristo Jesus padecerão perseguições.

13 B ut evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Mas os homens maus e impostores irão de mal a pior, enganando e sendo enganados.

14 B ut continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and in that which has been entrusted unto thee, knowing of whom thou hast learned them,

Tu, porém, permanece naquilo que aprendeste, e de que foste inteirado, sabendo de quem o tens aprendido,

15 a nd that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto saving health by the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

e que desde a infância sabes as sagradas letras, que podem fazer-te sábio para a salvação, pela que há em Cristo Jesus.

16 A ll scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

Toda Escritura é divinamente inspirada e proveitosa para ensinar, para repreender, para corrigir, para instruir em justiça;

17 t hat the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

para que o homem de Deus seja perfeito, e perfeitamente preparado para toda boa obra.
