1 ¶ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his slaves things which are convenient to do quickly, and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his slave John,

Revelação de Jesus Cristo, que Deus lhe deu para mostrar aos seus servos as coisas que brevemente devem acontecer; e, enviando-as pelo seu anjo, as notificou a seu servo João;

2 w ho bore witness of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

o qual testificou da palavra de Deus, e do testemunho de Jesus Cristo, de tudo quanto viu.

3 ¶ Blessed is he that reads and those that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein, for the time is at hand.

Bem-aventurado aquele que lê e bem-aventurados os que ouvem as palavras desta profecia e guardam as coisas que nela estão escritas; porque o tempo está próximo.

4 J ohn, to the seven congregations which are in Asia: Grace be unto you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne

João,

5 a nd from Jesus, the Christ, who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins with his own blood

e da parte de Jesus Cristo, que é a fiel testemunha, o primogênito dos mortos e o Príncipe dos reis da terra. Âquele que nos ama, e pelo seu sangue nos libertou dos nossos pecados,

6 a nd has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

e nos fez reino, sacerdotes para Deus, seu Pai, a ele seja glória e domínio pelos séculos dos séculos. Amém.

7 B ehold, he comes with the clouds, and every eye shall see him and those also who pierced him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail over him. Even so, Amen.

Eis que vem com as nuvens, e todo olho o verá, até mesmo aqueles que o traspassaram; e todas as tribos da terra se lamentarão sobre ele. Sim. Amém.

8 I AM the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end, saith the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Eu sou o Alfa e o èmega, diz o Senhor Deus, aquele que é, e que era, e que há de vir, o Todo-Poderoso.

9 ¶ I John, your brother and participant in the tribulation and in the kingdom and in the patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Eu, João, irmão vosso e companheiro convosco na aflição, no reino, e na perseverança em Jesus, estava na ilha chamada Patmos por causa da palavra de Deus e do testemunho de Jesus.

10 I was in the Spirit in the day of the Lord and heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet,

Eu fui arrebatado em espírito no dia do Senhor, e ouvi por detrás de mim uma grande voz, como de trombeta,

11 t hat said, I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, and What thou seest, write in a book and send it unto the seven congregations which are in Asia: unto Ephesus and unto Smyrna and unto Pergamos and unto Thyatira and unto Sardis and unto Philadelphia and unto Laodicea.

que dizia: O que vês, escreve-o num livro, e envia-o

12 A nd I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden lampstands

E voltei-me para ver quem falava comigo. E, ao voltar-me, vi sete candeeiros de ouro,

13 a nd in the midst of the seven lampstands one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girt about the breasts with a golden girdle.

e no meio dos candeeiros um semelhante a filho de homem, vestido de uma roupa talar, e cingido ã altura do peito com um cinto de ouro;

14 H is head and his hairs were white like white wool, as the snow, and his eyes were as a flame of fire

e a sua cabeça e cabelos eram brancos como lã branca, como a neve; e os seus olhos como chama de fogo;

15 a nd his feet like unto brilliant metal as if they burned in a furnace and his voice as the sound of many waters.

e os seus pés, semelhantes a latão reluzente que fora refinado numa fornalha; e a sua voz como a voz de muitas águas.

16 A nd he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword, and his countenance was as the sun when it shines in its strength.

Tinha ele na sua destra sete estrelas; e da sua boca saía uma aguda espada de dois gumes; e o seu rosto era como o sol, quando resplandece na sua força.

17 A nd when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I AM the first and the last,

Quando o vi, caí a seus pés como morto; e ele pôs sobre mim a sua destra, dizendo: Não temas; eu sou o primeiro e o último,

18 a nd he that lives and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of Hades and of death.

e o que vivo; fui morto, mas eis aqui estou vivo pelos séculos dos séculos; e tenho as chaves da morte e do hades.

19 W rite the things which thou hast seen and the things which are and the things which must be after these.

escreve, pois, as coisas que tens visto, e as que são, e as que depois destas hão de suceder.

20 T he mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven congregations, and the seven lampstands which thou sawest are the seven congregations.

Eis o mistério das sete estrelas, que viste na minha destra, e dos sete candeeiros de ouro: as estrelas são os anjos das sete igrejas, e os sete candeeiros são as sete igrejas.
