1 ¶ These are the statutes and rights which ye shall keep to do them in the land which the LORD God of thy fathers gives thee to inherit all the days that ye live upon the land.

São estes os estatutos e os preceitos que tereis cuidado em observar na terra que o Senhor Deus de vossos pais vos deu para a possuirdes por todos os dias que viverdes sobre a terra.

2 Y e shall utterly destroy all the places, upon which the Gentiles, of whom ye shall inherit, served their gods, upon the high mountains and upon the hills and under every green tree;

Certamente destruireis todos os lugares em que as nações que haveis de subjugar serviram aos seus deuses, sobre as altas montanhas, sobre os outeiros, e debaixo de toda árvore frondosa;

3 a nd ye shall overthrow their altars and break their images and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the statues of their gods and destroy the names of them out of that place.

e derrubareis os seus altares, quebrareis as suas colunas, queimareis a fogo os seus aserins, abatereis as imagens esculpidas dos seus deuses e apagareis o seu nome daquele lugar.

4 Y e shall not do so unto the LORD your God.

Não fareis assim para com o Senhor vosso Deus;

5 ¶ But ye shall seek the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there for his habitation, and thou shalt go there.

mas recorrereis ao lugar que o Senhor vosso Deus escolher de todas as vossas tribos para ali pôr o seu nome, para sua habitação, e ali vireis.

6 A nd there ye shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices and your tithes and the offerings of your hand and your vows and your freewill offerings and the firstborn of your cows and of your sheep;

A esse lugar trareis os vossos holocaustos e sacrifícios, e os vossos dízimos e a oferta alçada da vossa mão, e os vossos votos e ofertas voluntárias, e os primogênitos das vossas vacas e ovelhas;

7 a nd there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye and your households shall rejoice in every work of your hands in which the LORD thy God has blessed thee.

e ali comereis perante o Senhor vosso Deus, e vos alegrareis, vós e as vossas casas, em tudo em que puserdes a vossa mão, no que o Senhor vosso Deus vos tiver abençoado.

8 Y e shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, each man doing what seems right in his own eyes,

Não fareis conforme tudo o que hoje fazemos aqui, cada qual tudo o que bem lhe parece aos olhos.

9 F or ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God gives you.

Porque até agora não entrastes no descanso e na herança que o Senhor vosso Deus vos dá;

10 B ut when ye pass the Jordan and dwell in the land which the LORD your God gives you to inherit and when he gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety,

mas quando passardes o Jordão, e habitardes na terra que o senhor vosso Deus vos faz herdar, ele vos dará repouso de todos os vossos inimigos em redor, e morareis seguros.

11 t hen there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; there shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the offerings of your hand and all your choice of vows which ye vow unto the LORD;

Então haverá um lugar que o Senhor vosso Deus escolherá para ali fazer habitar o seu nome; a esse lugar trareis tudo o que eu vos ordeno: os vossos holocaustos e sacrifícios, os vossos dízimos, a oferta alçada da vossa mão, e tudo o que de melhor oferecerdes ao Senhor em cumprimento dos votos que fizerdes.

12 a nd ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye and your sons and your daughters and your menslaves and your maidslaves and the Levite that is within your gates because he has no part nor inheritance with you.

E vos alegrareis perante o Senhor vosso Deus, vós, vossos filhos e vossas filhas, vossos servos e vossas servas, bem como o levita que está dentro das vossas portas, pois convosco não tem parte nem herança.

13 K eep thyself that thou not offer thy burnt offerings in any place that thou seest

Guarda-te de ofereceres os teus holocaustos em qualquer lugar que vires;

14 b ut in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes; there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

mas no lugar que o Senhor escolher numa das tuas tribos, ali oferecerás os teus holocaustos, e ali farás tudo o que eu te ordeno.

15 N otwithstanding, thou may kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, according to the desire of thy soul, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he has given thee; the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck and as of the hart.

Todavia, conforme todo o teu desejo, poderás degolar, e comer carne dentro das tuas portas, segundo a bênção do Senhor teu Deus que ele te houver dado; tanto o imundo como o limpo comerão dela, como da gazela e do veado;

16 O nly ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.

tão-somente não comerás do sangue; sobre a terra o derramarás como água.

17 T hou may not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy grain or of thy wine or of thy oil or the firstborn of thy cows or of thy sheep nor any of thy vows which thou hast promised nor thy freewill offerings or the heave offerings of thy hands.

Dentro das tuas portas não poderás comer o dízimo do teu grão, do teu mosto e do teu azeite, nem os primogênitos das tuas vacas e das tuas ovelhas, nem qualquer das tuas ofertas votivas, nem as tuas ofertas voluntárias, nem a oferta alçada da tua mão;

18 B ut thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall have chosen, thou and thy son and thy daughter and thy manslave and thy maidslave and the Levite that is within thy gates; and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all the work of thy hands.

mas os comerás perante o Senhor teu Deus, no lugar que ele escolher, tu, teu filho, tua filha, o teu servo, a tua serva, e bem assim e levita que está dentre das tuas portas; e perante o Senhor teu Deus te alegrarás em tudo em que puseres a mão.

19 K eep thyself that thou not forsake the Levite in all thy days upon thy land.

Guarda-te, que não desampares o levita por todos os dias que viveres na tua terra.

20 W hen the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he has promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul desires to eat flesh, according to all the desire of thy soul thou shalt eat flesh.

Quando o Senhor teu Deus dilatar os teus termos, como te prometeu, e tu disseres: Comerei carne (porquanto tens desejo de comer carne); conforme todo o teu desejo poderás comê-la.

21 W hen the place which the LORD thy God shall have chosen to put his name there is far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy cows and of thy sheep, which the LORD has given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates according to all thy soul desires.

Se estiver longe de ti o lugar que o Senhor teu Deus escolher para ali pôr o seu nome, então degolarás do teu gado e do teu rebanho, que o Senhor te houver dado, como te ordenei; e poderás comer dentro das tuas portas, conforme todo o teu desejo.

22 E ven as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them; the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.

Como se come a gazela e o veado, assim comerás dessas carnes; o imundo e o limpo igualmente comerão delas.

23 O nly be sure not to eat the blood; for the blood is the soul (or the life), and thou art not to eat the soul with its flesh.

Tão-somente guarda-te de comeres o sangue; pois o sangue é a vida; pelo que não comerás a vida com a carne.

24 T hou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.

Não o comerás; sobre a terra o derramarás como água.

25 T hou shalt not eat it that it may go well with thee and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.

Não o comerás, para que te vá bem a ti, a teus filhos depois de ti, quando fizeres o que é reto aos olhos do Senhor.

26 B ut the things which thou hast consecrated and thy vows, thou shalt take and go unto the place which the LORD shall have chosen,

Somente tomarás as coisas santas que tiveres, e as tuas ofertas votivas, e irás ao lugar que o Senhor escolher;

27 a nd thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD thy God, and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the LORD thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.

oferecerás os teus holocaustos, a carne e o sangue sobre o altar do Senhor teu Deus; e o sangue dos teus sacrifícios se derramará sobre o altar do Senhor teu Deus, porém a carne comerás.

28 K eep and hear all these words which I command thee that it may go well with thee and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.

Ouve e guarda todas estas palavras que eu te ordeno, para que te vá bem a ti, e a teus filhos depois de ti, para sempre, se fizeres o que é bom e reto aos olhos do Senhor teu Deus.

29 W hen the LORD thy God shall have cut off the Gentiles from before thee, in the place where thou goest to inherit of them, and thou dost inherit of them and dost dwell in their land,

Quando o Senhor teu Deus exterminar de diante de ti as nações aonde estás entrando para as possuir, e as desapossares e habitares na sua terra,

30 k eep thyself from being snared by following them, after they are destroyed from before thee; enquire not after their gods, saying, After the manner that these Gentiles served their gods, even so will I do likewise.

guarda-te para que não te enlaces para as seguires, depois que elas forem destruídas diante de ti; e que não perguntes acerca dos seus deuses, dizendo: De que modo serviam estas nações os seus deuses? pois do mesmo modo também farei eu.

31 T hou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God; for every abomination unto the LORD, which he hates, they have done unto their gods; for they have even burnt their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.

Não farás assim para com o Senhor teu Deus; porque tudo o que é abominável ao Senhor, e que ele detesta, fizeram elas para com os seus deuses; pois até seus filhos e suas filhas queimam no fogo aos seus deuses.

32 K eep thyself, and do all that I command you; thou shalt not add to it nor diminish from it.

Tudo o que eu te ordeno, observarás; nada lhe acrescentarás nem diminuirás.
