1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 F or there shall be men who are lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, evil speakers, disobedient to their parents, unthankful, impure,

Porque los hombres serán amadores de sí mismos, avaros, jactanciosos, soberbios, blasfemos, desobedientes a los padres, ingratos, irreverentes,

3 w ithout natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, without temperance, without meekness, without goodness,

sin amor, implacables, calumniadores, desenfrenados, salvajes, aborrecedores de lo bueno,

4 t raitors, rash, puffed up, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God,

traidores, impetuosos, envanecidos, amadores de los placeres en vez de amadores de Dios;

5 h aving the appearance of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

teniendo apariencia de piedad (religión), pero habiendo negado su poder. A los tales evita.

6 F or of this sort are those who creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with various lusts,

Porque entre ellos están los que se meten en las casas y se llevan cautivas a mujercillas cargadas de pecados, llevadas por diversas pasiones,

7 e ver learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

que siempre están aprendiendo, pero nunca pueden llegar al pleno conocimiento de la verdad.

8 A nd in the manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth, men of corrupt understanding, reprobate concerning the faith.

Y así como Janes y Jambres se opusieron a Moisés, de la misma manera éstos también se oponen a la verdad. Son hombres de mente depravada, reprobados en lo que respecta a la fe.

9 B ut they shall not prevail, for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as that of those also was.

Pero no progresarán más, pues su insensatez será manifiesta a todos, como también sucedió con la de aquellos dos. Comisión a Timoteo

Pero tú has seguido mi enseñanza, mi conducta, propósito, fe, paciencia, amor, perseverancia,

11 p ersecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra, persecutions I have endured, and the Lord delivered me out of them all.

mis persecuciones, sufrimientos, como los que me acaecieron en Antioquía, en Iconio y en Listra. ¡Qué persecuciones sufrí! Y de todas ellas me libró el Señor.

12 A nd all that desire to live godly in Christ Jesus shall also suffer persecution.

Y en verdad, todos los que quieren vivir piadosamente en Cristo Jesús, serán perseguidos.

13 B ut evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Pero los hombres malos e impostores irán de mal en peor, engañando y siendo engañados.

14 B ut continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and in that which has been entrusted unto thee, knowing of whom thou hast learned them,

Tú, sin embargo, persiste en las cosas que has aprendido y de las cuales te convenciste, sabiendo de quiénes las has aprendido.

15 a nd that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto saving health by the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 A ll scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

Toda Escritura es inspirada por Dios y útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir, para instruir en justicia,

17 t hat the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

a fin de que el hombre de Dios sea perfecto (apto), equipado para toda buena obra.
