1 ¶ Do not rejoice, O Israel, for joy, as the peoples; for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved the salary of a harlot upon every threshing floor.

No te alegres, Israel, con gran júbilo como las naciones, Porque te has prostituido, abandonando a tu Dios; Has amado el salario de ramera sobre todas las eras de trigo.

2 T he threshing floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

Ni la era ni el lagar los alimentarán, Y el vino nuevo les faltará.

3 T hey shall not remain in the land of the LORD; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt and to Assyria where they shall eat unclean food.

No permanecerán en la tierra del Señor, Sino que Efraín volverá a Egipto, Y en Asiria comerán cosas inmundas.

4 T hey shall not pour out wine unto the LORD, neither shall he take pleasure in their sacrifices; as the bread of mourners shall they be unto them; all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall not enter into the house of the LORD because of their soul.

No harán libaciones de vino al Señor, Ni Le serán gratos sus sacrificios. Su pan les será como pan de duelo, Todos los que lo coman se contaminarán, Porque su pan será sólo para ellos, No entrará en la casa del Señor.

5 W hat will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

¿Qué harán el día de la fiesta señalada Y el día de la fiesta del Señor ?

6 F or, behold, they have left because of the destruction; Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: nettles shall possess in inheritance that which is desirable of their silver; thorns shall grow up in their dwellings.

Pues, se irán a causa de la destrucción; Egipto los recogerá, Menfis los sepultará. La ortiga poseerá sus tesoros de plata; Cardos crecerán en sus tiendas.

7 ¶ The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it; the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is a fool, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

Han llegado los días del castigo, Han llegado los días de la retribución; ¡Que lo sepa Israel! Un insensato es el profeta, Un loco el hombre inspirado, A causa de la magnitud de tu culpa, Y por tu mucha hostilidad.

8 T he watchman of Ephraim regarding my God, the prophet, is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, hatred in the house of his God.

Vigía con mi Dios era Efraín, un profeta; Sin embargo el lazo de cazador está en todos sus caminos, Y en la casa de su Dios sólo hay hostilidad.

9 T hey have arrived at the depths, they have corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah; therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sin.

Se han corrompido profundamente Como en los días de Guibeá; El se acordará de su iniquidad, Castigará sus pecados.

10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the early fruit of the fig tree in her beginning; but they went in unto Baalpeor and separated themselves unto shame and made themselves as abominable as that which they loved.

Como uvas en el desierto hallé a Israel; Como las primicias de la higuera en su primera cosecha vi a sus padres. Pero fueron a Baal Peor y se consagraron a la vergüenza, Y se hicieron tan abominables como lo que amaban.

11 ¶ As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth even from the womb and from the conception.

Como un ave volará de Efraín su gloria: No habrá nacimiento, ni embarazo, ni concepción.

12 T hough they bring up their sons, yet I will bereave them, that there shall not be a man left; yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

Aunque críen a sus hijos, Se los quitaré hasta que no quede hombre alguno. Sí, ¡ay de ellos también cuando de ellos Me aparte!

13 E phraim, as I saw Tyre, is planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim shall bring forth his sons to the murderer.

Efraín, según he visto, Está como Tiro, plantado en pradera hermosa; Pero Efraín sacará a sus hijos al verdugo.

14 G ive them, O LORD, that which thou must give them; give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

Dales, oh Señor, ¿qué les darás? Dales matriz que aborte y pechos secos.

15 A ll their wickedness was in Gilgal, for there I took a dislike to them; for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of my house, I will never love them again: all their princes are disloyal.

Toda su maldad está en Gilgal; Allí, pues, los aborrecí. Por la maldad de sus hechos Los expulsaré de Mi casa, No los amaré más; Todos sus príncipes son rebeldes.

16 E phraim was smitten, their root is dried up; they shall bear no more fruit; even though they bring forth, yet I will slay even the desirable fruit of their womb.

Efraín está herido, su raíz está seca; No darán más fruto. Aunque den a luz, Yo mataré el fruto de su vientre.

17 M y God will cast them away because they did not hearken unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the Gentiles.

Mi Dios los desechará Porque no Lo han escuchado, Y andarán errantes entre las naciones.
