1 ¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor:

2 N ow, thou son of man, wilt thou not judge, wilt thou not judge the city that spills innocent blood and cause her to know all her abominations?

“Tú, hijo de hombre, ¿Vas a juzgar? ¿Vas a juzgar a la ciudad sanguinaria? Hazle saber todas sus abominaciones.

3 T hen thou shalt say, Thus hath the Lord GOD said, City that sheds blood in the midst of thyself, that thy time may come, and that has made idols against thyself to defile thyself!

Dirás: ‘Así dice el Señor Dios: “¡Ciudad que derrama sangre en medio de sí misma para que llegue su hora, y que se hace ídolos para contaminarse!

4 I n thy blood that thou hast shed thou hast sinned and hast defiled thyself with thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near and art come even unto thy years; therefore I have given thee in reproach unto the Gentiles, and in shame unto all the countries.

Por la sangre que has derramado te has hecho culpable, y con los ídolos que has hecho te has contaminado. Has hecho que se acerque tu día y has llegado al término de tus años. Por tanto te he hecho oprobio de las naciones y objeto de burla de todas las tierras.

5 T hose that are near and those that are far from thee shall mock thee, who art infamous and much vexed.

Las que están cerca de ti y las que están lejos se burlarán de ti, ciudad de mala fama, llena de confusión.

6 B ehold, the princes of Israel, each one according to their power, were in thee to shed blood.

Los príncipes de Israel, cada uno según su poder, han estado en ti para derramar sangre.

7 I n thee they have despised father and mother; in the midst of thee they have dealt by oppression with the stranger; in thee they have vexed the fatherless and the widow.

En ti despreciaron al padre y a la madre, en medio de ti trataron con violencia al extranjero, y en ti oprimieron al huérfano y a la viuda.

8 T hou hast despised my holy things and hast profaned my sabbaths.

Has despreciado Mis cosas sagradas y has profanado Mis días de reposo.

9 I n thee are men that carry tales to shed blood; and in thee they eat upon the mountains; in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.

En ti han estado calumniadores para derramar sangre y en ti han comido en los santuarios de los montes. En ti han cometido perversidades.

10 I n thee they have discovered their fathers’ nakedness; in thee they have forced the unclean menstruous woman.

En ti se ha descubierto la desnudez del padre, en ti han humillado a la que estaba impura por su menstruación.

11 A nd one has committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in thee has forced his sister, his father’s daughter.

Uno ha cometido abominación con la mujer de su prójimo, otro ha manchado a su nuera con lascivia, y en ti otro ha humillado a su hermana, la hija de su padre.

12 I n thee they have taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion and hast forgotten me, said the Lord GOD.

En ti se ha recibido soborno para derramar sangre; has tomado interés y usura, y has dañado a tus prójimos, extorsionándolos y de Mí te has olvidado,” declara el Señor Dios.

13 B ehold, therefore I have smitten my hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made and at thy blood which has been in the midst of thee.

“Por eso voy a batir palmas contra las ganancias deshonestas que has adquirido y contra el derramamiento de sangre que hay en medio de ti.

14 C an thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it and will do it.

¿Aguantará tu corazón o serán fuertes tus manos en los días que Yo actúe contra ti? Yo, el Señor, he hablado y lo haré.

15 A nd I will scatter thee among the Gentiles and disperse thee in the countries and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

Yo te dispersaré entre las naciones, te esparciré por las tierras y haré desaparecer de ti tu inmundicia.

16 A nd thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the Gentiles, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

Y por ti misma quedarás profanada a la vista de las naciones; y sabrás que Yo soy el Señor.”’”

17 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor:

18 S on of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross; they are all brass and tin and iron and lead in the midst of the furnace; they are become the dross of silver.

“Hijo de hombre, la casa de Israel se ha convertido en escoria para Mí. Todos ellos son bronce, estaño, hierro y plomo en medio del horno; escoria de plata son.

19 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: ‘Por cuanto todos ustedes se han convertido en basura, por tanto, los voy a reunir en medio de Jerusalén.

20 A s they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace to blow the fire upon it to melt it, so will I gather you in my anger and in my fury, and I will cause you to rest, and melt you.

Como se junta plata, bronce, hierro, plomo y estaño en medio del horno, y se atiza el fuego en él para fundir los, así los juntaré Yo en Mi ira y en Mi furor, los pondré allí y los fundiré.

21 I will gather you and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.

Los reuniré y atizaré sobre ustedes el fuego de Mi furor, y serán fundidos en medio de Jerusalén.

22 A s silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

Como se funde la plata en el horno, así serán fundidos ustedes en medio de la ciudad; y sabrán que Yo, el Señor, he derramado Mi furor sobre ustedes.’”

23 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor:

24 S on of man, say unto her, Thou art not clean land, nor art thou sprinkled with rain in the day of indignation.

“Hijo de hombre, dile a Israel: ‘Tú eres tierra que no ha sido lavada ni mojada con la lluvia el día de la indignación.’

25 T here is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken treasures and honour; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.

Hay conspiración de sus profetas en medio de Jerusalén, como león rugiente que desgarra la presa. Han devorado almas, de las riquezas y cosas preciosas se han apoderado, las viudas se han multiplicado en medio de ella.

26 H er priests have violated my law by force and have profaned my holy things; they have made no difference between the holy and the profane, neither have they showed the difference between the unclean and the clean and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Sus sacerdotes han violado Mi ley y han profanado Mis cosas sagradas; entre lo sagrado y lo profano no han hecho diferencia, y entre lo inmundo y lo limpio no han enseñado a distinguir; han escondido sus ojos de Mis días de reposo, y he sido profanado entre ellos.

27 H er princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to follow their own greed.

Sus príncipes en medio de la ciudad son como lobos que desgarran la presa, derramando sangre y destruyendo vidas para obtener ganancias injustas.

28 A nd her prophets have plastered them over with loose mud, prophesying vanity and divining lies unto them, saying: Thus hath the Lord GOD said, when the LORD has not spoken.

Y sus profetas los han recubierto con cal, viendo visiones falsas y adivinándoles mentiras, diciendo: ‘Así dice el Señor Dios,’ cuando el Señor no ha hablado.

29 T he people of the land have used oppression and exercised robbery and have done violence unto the poor and needy; they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

Las gentes de la tierra han hecho violencia y cometido robo, han oprimido al pobre y al necesitado y han maltratado injustamente al extranjero.

30 A nd I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before me for the land that I should not destroy it, but I found no one.

Busqué entre ellos alguien que levantara un muro y se pusiera en pie en la brecha delante de Mí a favor de la tierra, para que Yo no la destruyera, pero no lo hallé.

31 T herefore have I poured out my indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath; I have recompensed their own way upon their heads, said the Lord GOD.

He derramado, pues, Mi indignación sobre ellos; con el fuego de Mi furor los he consumido; he hecho recaer su conducta sobre sus cabezas,” declara el Señor Dios.
