1 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor:

2 S on of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy and say unto those that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD:

“Hijo de hombre, profetiza contra los profetas de Israel que profetizan, y dile a los que profetizan por su propia inspiración: ‘Escuchen la palabra del Señor.

3 t hus hath the Lord GOD said: Woe unto the foolish prophets that follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

Así dice el Señor Dios: “¡Ay de los profetas necios que siguen su propio espíritu y no han visto nada!

4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

Como zorras entre ruinas han sido tus profetas, oh Israel.

5 Y e have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

Ustedes no han subido a las brechas, ni han levantado un muro alrededor de la casa de Israel, para que pueda resistir en la batalla en el día del Señor.

6 T hey have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD has not sent them, and they have made others to wait for the word to be confirmed.

Han visto falsedad y adivinación mentirosa los que dicen: ‘El Señor declara,’ cuando el Señor no los ha enviado; no obstante, esperan el cumplimiento de su palabra.

7 H ave ye not seen a vain vision and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD hath said it; albeit I have not spoken?

¿No han visto una visión falsa y han hablado una adivinación mentirosa cuando dicen: ‘El Señor declara,’ y Yo no he hablado ?”’”

8 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies; therefore, behold, I am against you, said the Lord GOD.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: “Por cuanto han hablado falsedad y han visto mentira, por tanto, Yo estoy contra ustedes,” declara el Señor Dios.

9 A nd my hand shall be against the prophets that see vanity and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the book of the house of Israel, neither shall they return to the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

“Y estará Mi mano contra los profetas que ven visiones falsas y hablan adivinaciones mentirosas. No estarán en el consejo de Mi pueblo, no serán inscritos en el libro de la casa de Israel, ni entrarán en la tierra de Israel. Así ustedes sabrán que Yo soy el Señor Dios.

10 ¶ Therefore and because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up the wall, and, behold, others plastered it with loose mud:

Sí, porque han engañado a Mi pueblo, diciendo: ‘¡Paz!’ cuando no hay paz. Y cuando alguien edifica un muro, ellos lo recubren con cal.

11 s ay unto those who plaster it with loose mud, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing rain; and I shall send great hailstones that will cause it to fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

Diles, pues, a los que lo recubren con cal, que el muro caerá; vendrá una lluvia torrencial y ustedes, piedras de granizo, caerán; y se desencadenará un viento huracanado.

12 A nd behold, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the mud with which ye have plastered it?

Cuando el muro haya caído, ¿no les preguntarán: ‘¿Dónde está la cal con que lo recubrieron?’”

13 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: I will cause a stormy wind to rend it in my fury; and there shall come an overflowing rain in my anger and great hailstones in my wrath to consume it.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: “En Mi enojo haré que un viento huracanado se desencadene; también por Mi ira vendrá una lluvia torrencial y granizo para consumir lo con furor.

14 S o I will break down the wall that ye have plastered with loose mud and bring it down to the ground, and its foundation shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Así derribaré el muro que han recubierto con cal, lo echaré a tierra y quedará al descubierto su cimiento. Y cuando caiga, ustedes serán destruidos en medio de él. Así sabrán que Yo soy el Señor.

15 T hus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall and upon those that have plastered it with loose mud and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither those that plastered it;

Desahogaré así Mi furor contra el muro y contra los que lo han recubierto con cal, y les diré: ‘No existe el muro ni existen los que lo recubrieron,

16 t o wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, said the Lord GOD.

ni los profetas de Israel que profetizaban acerca de Jerusalén y que veían para ella visiones de paz cuando no había paz,’ declara el Señor Dios.

17 ¶ Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who prophesy out of their own heart; prophesy thou against them,

“Y tú, hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro contra las hijas de tu pueblo que profetizan por su propia inspiración, profetiza contra ellas

18 A nd say, Thus hath the Lord GOD said; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Must ye hunt the souls of my people to maintain thus your own life?

y di: ‘Así dice el Señor Dios: “¡Ay de las que cosen cintas mágicas para todas las coyunturas de la mano y hacen velos para las cabezas de personas de toda talla con el fin de cazar vidas! ¿Cazarán las vidas de Mi pueblo y preservarán sus vidas?

19 A nd will ye profane me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, slaying the souls that should not die and giving life to the souls that should not live, by your lying to my people that listen to the lie?

Ustedes Me han profanado ante Mi pueblo por puñados de cebada y por pedazos de pan, dando muerte a algunos que no debían morir y dejando con vida a otros que no debían vivir, mintiendo a Mi pueblo que escucha la mentira.”’”

20 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said; Behold, I am against your pillows, with which ye hunt there the loose souls, and I will tear them from your arms and will let the souls go, even the loose souls that ye hunt.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: “Yo estoy contra sus cintas mágicas con las que allí cazan vidas como aves; las arrancaré de sus brazos y dejaré ir las vidas, las vidas que cazan como aves.

21 Y our kerchiefs also I will tear and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall no longer be in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

También rasgaré sus velos y libraré a Mi pueblo de sus manos, y no serán más presa en sus manos. Y ustedes sabrán que Yo soy el Señor.

22 B ecause with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and ye strengthen the hands of the wicked that he should not leave his wicked way, encouraging him:

Porque ustedes han entristecido el corazón del justo con falsedad, cuando Yo no lo he entristecido, y han fortalecido las manos del impío para que no se aparte de su mal camino a fin de preservar su vida.

23 t herefore ye shall not see vanity, nor divine divinations any longer: for I will deliver my people out of your hand; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Por tanto, no verán más visiones falsas ni practicarán más la adivinación, y libraré a Mi pueblo de sus manos. Así ustedes sabrán que Yo soy el Señor.”
