1 ¶ In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,

En el octavo mes del segundo año de Darío, vino la palabra del Señor al profeta Zacarías, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo, diciendo:

2 T he LORD has been sore displeased with your fathers.

“El Señor se enojó mucho contra sus padres.

3 T herefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said; Turn unto me, said the LORD of the hosts, and I will turn unto you, said the LORD of the hosts.

Diles, pues: ‘Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Vuélvanse a Mí,” declara el Señor de los ejércitos, “y Yo me volveré a ustedes,” dice el Señor de los ejércitos.

4 D o not be as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said; Turn now from your evil ways and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, said the LORD.

“No sean como sus padres, a quienes los antiguos profetas proclamaron, diciendo: ‘Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Vuélvanse ahora de sus malos caminos y de sus malas obras.”’” Pero no Me escucharon ni Me hicieron caso,’ declara el Señor.

5 Y our fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

“Sus padres, ¿dónde están? Y los profetas, ¿viven para siempre?

6 B ut my words and my statutes, which I commanded my slaves the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? Therefore they returned from captivity and said, Like as the LORD of the hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways and according to our doings, so has he dealt with us.

¿Acaso no alcanzaron a sus padres Mis palabras y Mis estatutos que Yo ordené a Mis siervos los profetas? Por eso se arrepintieron y dijeron: ‘Como el Señor de los ejércitos se propuso hacer con nosotros conforme a nuestros caminos y conforme a nuestras obras, así ha hecho con nosotros.’”’” Visiones de los Caballos, de los Cuernos y de los Artesanos

7 ¶ Upon the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,

El día veinticuatro del mes undécimo, que es el mes de Sebat, en el segundo año de Darío, vino la palabra del Señor al profeta Zacarías, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo, de esta manera:

8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him there were red horses, speckled, and white.

En una visión nocturna vi un hombre que iba montado en un caballo rojo. El hombre estaba entre los mirtos que había en la quebrada, y detrás de él, caballos rojos, castaños y blancos.

9 T hen said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show thee who these are.

Entonces dije: “¿Quiénes son éstos, señor mío?” Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo me dijo: “Te mostraré quienes son éstos.”

10 A nd the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are those whom the LORD has sent to walk to and fro through the earth.

Y el hombre que estaba entre los mirtos respondió: “Estos son los que el Señor ha enviado a recorrer la tierra.”

11 A nd they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees and said, We have walked to and fro through the land, and, behold, all the earth sits still and is at rest.

Y ellos respondieron al ángel del Señor que estaba entre los mirtos y dijeron: “Hemos recorrido la tierra, y toda la tierra está en paz y tranquila.”

12 T hen the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of the hosts, when wilt thou have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these seventy years?

Entonces el ángel del Señor respondió: “Oh Señor de los ejércitos, ¿hasta cuándo seguirás sin compadecerte de Jerusalén y de las ciudades de Judá, contra las cuales has estado indignado estos setenta años ?”

13 A nd the LORD answered good words unto the angel that talked with me, words of consolation.

Y el Señor respondió al ángel que hablaba conmigo palabras buenas, palabras consoladoras.

14 S o the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of the hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo me dijo: “Proclama, diciendo: ‘Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Estoy celoso en gran manera por Jerusalén y por Sion.

15 A nd I am very sore displeased with the Gentiles that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

Pero Yo estoy muy enojado contra las naciones que están confiadas; porque cuando Yo estaba un poco enojado, ellas contribuyeron al mal.’”

16 T herefore thus hath the LORD said, I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house shall be built in her, saith the LORD of the hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

Por tanto, así dice el Señor: “Me volveré a Jerusalén con compasión. En ella será reedificada Mi casa,’ declara el Señor de los ejércitos, “y el cordel será tendido sobre Jerusalén.”’”

17 C ry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of the hosts, My cities through abundance of good shall yet be widened; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

“Proclama de nuevo: ‘Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Otra vez rebosarán Mis ciudades de bienes, otra vez el Señor consolará a Sion y de nuevo escogerá a Jerusalén.”’”

18 ¶ Then I lifted up my eyes and saw and behold four horns.

Después alcé mis ojos y miré cuatro cuernos.

19 A nd I said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

Y dije al ángel que hablaba conmigo: “¿Qué son éstos?” “Estos son los cuernos que dispersaron a Judá, a Israel y a Jerusalén,” me respondió.

20 A nd the LORD showed me four carpenters.

Entonces el Señor me mostró cuatro artesanos.

21 T hen I said, What do these come to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no one lifted up his head, but these are come to cause them to tremble, to cut down the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

Y dije: “¿Qué vienen a hacer éstos?” Y él respondió: “Aquéllos son los cuernos que dispersaron a Judá, de modo que nadie ha podido levantar la cabeza; pero estos artesanos han venido para aterrorizarlos, para derribar los cuernos de las naciones que alzaron sus cuernos contra la tierra de Judá para dispersarla.”
