1 ¶ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life

Lo que existía desde el principio, lo que hemos oído, lo que hemos visto con nuestros propios ojos, lo que hemos contemplado y lo que han tocado nuestras manos, esto escribimos acerca del Verbo de vida.

2 ( for the life is manifested, and we also saw it and bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and appeared unto us);

Y la Vida (Cristo) se manifestó. Nosotros la hemos visto, y damos testimonio y les anunciamos a ustedes la vida eterna que estaba con el Padre y se manifestó a nosotros.

3 t hat which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us; and truly our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Lo que hemos visto y oído les proclamamos también a ustedes, para que también ustedes tengan comunión con nosotros. En verdad nuestra comunión es con el Padre y con Su Hijo Jesucristo.

4 A nd these things write we unto you, that your joy may be fulfilled.

Les escribimos estas cosas para que nuestro gozo sea completo. Dios es Luz

5 ¶ This then is the promise which we have heard of him and declare unto you, That God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Y éste es el mensaje que hemos oído de El y que les anunciamos: Dios es Luz, y en El no hay ninguna tiniebla.

6 I f we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth;

Si decimos que tenemos comunión con El, pero andamos en tinieblas, mentimos y no practicamos la verdad.

7 B ut if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have communion with him in the midst of us, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Pero si andamos en la Luz, como El está en la Luz, tenemos comunión los unos con los otros, y la sangre de Jesús Su Hijo nos limpia de todo pecado.

8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us.

Si decimos que no tenemos pecado, nos engañamos a nosotros mismos y la verdad no está en nosotros.

9 I f we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Si confesamos nuestros pecados, El es fiel y justo para perdonarnos los pecados y para limpiarnos de toda maldad (iniquidad).

10 I f we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Si decimos que no hemos pecado, Lo hacemos a El mentiroso y Su palabra no está en nosotros.
