1 ¶ Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with the yoke of slavery.

2 B ehold, I, Paul, say unto you that if ye become circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

Miren, yo, Pablo, les digo que si se dejan circuncidar, Cristo de nada les aprovechará.

3 F or I testify again to every man that becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Otra vez testifico a todo hombre que se circuncida, que está obligado a cumplir toda la Ley.

4 Y e are empty of the Christ, whosoever of you that justify yourselves by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

De Cristo se han separado, ustedes que procuran ser justificados por la ley; de la gracia han caído.

5 F or we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Pues nosotros, por medio del Espíritu, esperamos por la fe la esperanza de justicia.

6 F or in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything nor uncircumcision, but faith which works by charity.

Porque en Cristo Jesús ni la circuncisión ni la incircuncisión significan nada, sino la fe que obra por amor.

7 Y e did run well; who hindered you that ye should not trust in the truth?

Ustedes corrían bien, ¿quién les impidió obedecer a la verdad?

8 T his persuasion does not come of him that called you.

Esta persuasión no vino de Aquél que los llama.

9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Un poco de levadura fermenta toda la masa.

10 I have confidence in you through the Lord that ye will not be otherwise minded, but he that troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.

Yo tengo confianza respecto a ustedes en el Señor de que no optarán por otro punto de vista; pero el que los perturba llevará su castigo, quienquiera que sea.

11 A nd I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? Then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Pero yo, hermanos, si todavía predico la circuncisión, ¿por qué soy perseguido aún ? En tal caso, el escándalo de la cruz ha sido quitado.

12 I even desire that those who trouble you would cut themselves off.

¡Ojalá que los que los perturban también se mutilaran! La Libertad y el Amor

13 ¶ For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only do not use liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by charity serve one another.

Porque ustedes, hermanos, a libertad fueron llamados; sólo que no usen la libertad como pretexto para la carne, sino sírvanse por amor los unos a los otros.

14 F or all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Porque toda la Ley en una palabra se cumple en el precepto: “ Amaras a tu projimo como a ti mismo.”

15 B ut if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye are not consumed one of another.

Pero si ustedes se muerden y se devoran unos a otros, tengan cuidado, no sea que se consuman unos a otros. Conflicto entre el Espíritu y la Carne

16 T his I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Digo, pues: anden por el Espíritu, y no cumplirán el deseo de la carne.

17 F or the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Porque el deseo de la carne es contra el Espíritu, y el del Espíritu es contra la carne, pues éstos se oponen el uno al otro, de manera que ustedes no pueden hacer lo que deseen.

18 B ut if ye are led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Pero si son guiados por el Espíritu, no están bajo la Ley.

19 N ow the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Ahora bien, las obras de la carne son evidentes, las cuales son: inmoralidad, impureza, sensualidad,

20 i dolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

idolatría, hechicería, enemistades, pleitos, celos, enojos, rivalidades, disensiones, herejías,

21 e nvyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; which I denounce, as I have also told you in time past that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

envidias, borracheras, orgías y cosas semejantes, contra las cuales les advierto, como ya se lo he dicho antes, que los que practican tales cosas no heredarán el reino de Dios. El Fruto del Espíritu en la Conducta Cristiana

22 B ut the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Pero el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, benignidad, bondad, fidelidad,

23 m eekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

mansedumbre, dominio propio; contra tales cosas no hay ley.

24 F or those that are of the Christ have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts.

Pues los que son de Cristo Jesús han crucificado la carne con sus pasiones y deseos.

25 I f we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Si vivimos por el Espíritu, andemos también por el Espíritu.

26 L et us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

No nos hagamos vanagloriosos, provocándonos unos a otros, envidiándonos unos a otros.
