1 ¶ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life

Ceea ce era de la început, ceea ce am auzit, ceea ce am văzut cu ochii noştri, ceea ce am privit şi ceea ce mâinile noastre au atins cu privire la Cuvântul vieţii

2 ( for the life is manifested, and we also saw it and bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and appeared unto us);

– căci viaţa a fost arătată, iar noi am văzut-o şi depunem mărturie şi vă vestim viaţa veşnică care era cu Tatăl şi care ne-a fost arătată –

3 t hat which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us; and truly our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

deci ceea ce am văzut şi am auzit, aceea vă vestim şi vouă, ca şi voi să aveţi părtăşie cu noi. Şi părtăşia noastră este cu Tatăl şi cu Fiul Său, Isus Cristos.

4 A nd these things write we unto you, that your joy may be fulfilled.

Scriem aceste lucruri pentru ca bucuria noastră să fie deplină. Umblând în lumină

5 ¶ This then is the promise which we have heard of him and declare unto you, That God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Mesajul pe care l-am auzit de la El şi pe care vi-l vestim este că Dumnezeu e lumină şi în El nu este întuneric deloc.

6 I f we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth;

Dacă spunem că avem părtăşie cu El, dar umblăm în întuneric, minţim şi nu trăim adevărul.

7 B ut if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have communion with him in the midst of us, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Dacă însă umblăm în lumină, după cum El este în lumină, avem părtăşie unii cu alţii, iar sângele lui Isus, Fiul Său, ne curăţeşte de orice păcat.

8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us.

Dacă zicem că nu avem păcat, ne înşelăm singuri şi adevărul nu este în noi.

9 I f we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Dacă ne mărturisim păcatele, El este credincios şi drept ca să ne ierte păcatele şi să ne curăţească de orice nedreptate.

10 I f we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Dacă zicem că n-am păcătuit, Îl facem mincinos, şi Cuvântul Lui nu este în noi.
