1 ¶ Blessed is he that understands regarding the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

Ferice de cel ce îngrijeşte de sărac, căci Domnul îl va scăpa în ziua cea rea.

2 T he LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, and he shall be blessed upon the earth, and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

Domnul îl va păzi, îl va ţine în viaţă, îl va binecuvânta în ţară şi nu-l va lăsa la bunul plac al duşmanilor lui.

3 T he LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing; thou wilt soften all his bed in his sickness.

Domnul îl va întări când va fi pe patul de suferinţă, iar patul în care suferea va fi strâns.

4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

Cât despre mine, eu am zis: „ Doamne, ai milă de mine!“ Vindecă-mă, căci am păcătuit împotriva Ta!

5 ¶ My enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die and his name perish?

Duşmanii mei vorbesc despre mine cu răutate, spunând: „Când va muri şi-i va pieri numele?“

6 A nd if he came to see me, he spoke lies: his heart gathered iniquity to itself, and when he goes out, he tells it.

Chiar dacă vine vreunul să mă vadă, grăieşte făţarnic, în timp ce inima lui adună duşmănie pe care o împrăştie când iese afară.

7 A ll that hate me congregate together and murmur against me; against me do they devise my hurt.

Potrivnicii mei şuşotesc cu toţii împotriva mea şi gândesc ce e mai rău pentru mine.

8 A disease of Belial, they say, cleaves fast unto him, and now that he lies he shall rise up no more.

„O boală necruţătoare l-a atins! Nu se va mai scula din locul în care s-a culcat!“

9 E ven the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

Chiar şi prietenul apropiat în care m-am încrezut, cel ce mănâncă pâinea mea, şi-a ridicat călcâiul împotriva mea!

10 B ut thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me and raise me up that I may requite them.

Tu însă, Doamne, ai milă de mine! Ridică-mă, ca să le dau răsplata cuvenită!

11 I n this I shall know that I have pleased thee, that my enemy does not triumph over me.

Voi şti că-Ţi găseşti plăcerea în mine prin aceea că duşmanul meu nu va triumfa asupra mea.

12 A nd as for me, thou sustained me in my integrity and hast seated me before thy face for ever.

Cât despre mine, Tu mă sprijini în integritatea mea şi mă aşezi în prezenţa Ta pe vecie.

13 B lessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Binecuvântat să fie Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel, din veşnicie în veşnicie. Amin! Amin!
