1 ¶ And he showed me Joshua the high priest, standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

Apoi mi i-a arătat pe marele preot Iosua, stând în faţa îngerului Domnului, şi pe Satan stând la dreapta lui, ca să-l acuze.

2 A nd the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD reprehend thee, O Satan; even the LORD that has chosen Jerusalem reprehend thee; is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Domnul i-a zis lui Satan: « Domnul să te mustre, Satan! Domnul, Cel Care a ales Ierusalimul, să te mustre! Nu este acesta un tăciune smuls din foc?»

3 N ow Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and stood before the angel.

Iosua însă era îmbrăcat în haine murdare şi stătea înaintea îngerului.

4 A nd the angel answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I have caused thee to be clothed with new raiment.

Atunci îngerul le-a spus celor ce stăteau înaintea lui: «Îndepărtaţi hainele murdare de pe el!» Apoi i-a zis lui Iosua: «Priveşte! Am îndepărtat de la tine vina şi te voi îmbrăca în haine de sărbătoare!»

5 A nd I said, Let them set a clean mitre upon his head. So they set a clean mitre upon his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.

Atunci eu am zis: «Să i se pună pe cap o mitră curată!» I-au pus mitra curată pe cap şi l-au îmbrăcat, în timp ce îngerul Domnului stătea acolo.

6 A nd the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying,

Îngerul Domnului i-a făcut lui Iosua următoarea mărturisire:

7 T hus saith the LORD of the hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also govern my house and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee a place among these that are here.

«Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: ‘Dacă vei umbla în căile Mele şi dacă vei păzi cerinţele Mele, atunci vei judeca în Casa Mea, vei supraveghea curţile Mele şi îţi voi da drept printre cei ce stau aici.

8 ¶ Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee, for they are men of wonder. Behold, I bring forth my slave the BRANCH.

Ascultă deci, mare preot Iosua, atât tu, cât şi confraţii tăi, care stau înaintea ta, căci aceşti oameni sunt un semn pentru ceea ce voi face: Îl voi aduce pe Robul Meu, Vlăstarul.

9 F or behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone there are seven eyes; behold, I will engrave his labour, saith the LORD of the hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of the land in one day.

Iată piatra pe care am pus-o înaintea lui Iosua! Acea piatră are şapte ochi. Voi ciopli pe ea o inscripţie, zice Domnul Oştirilor, şi voi îndepărta vina acestei ţări într-o singură zi.

10 I n that day, saith the LORD of the hosts, each one of you shall call his neighbour under his vine and under his fig tree.

În ziua aceea, zice Domnul Oştirilor, fiecare îşi va chema prietenul sub viţa şi sub smochinul său!’»
