1 ¶ My heart is overflowing with a good word; I speak of the things which I have done concerning the king; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Cuvinte pline de farmec îmi clocotesc în inimă. Eu zic: „Îmi dedic versurile regelui!“ Limba mea este pana iscusită a unui scriitor!

2 T hou art fairer than the sons of men, grace is poured into thy lips; therefore God has blessed thee for ever.

Eşti cel mai frumos dintre fiii oamenilor! Harul este revărsat pe buzele tale; de aceea te-a binecuvântat Dumnezeu pe vecie.

3 G ird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most valiant, with thy glory and thy majesty.

Încinge-ţi sabia la coapsă, viteazule, splendoarea şi măreţia ta!

4 A nd in thy majesty be prospered; ride upon the word of truth and of humility and of righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

În măreţia ta, călăreşte biruitor pentru cauza adevărului, a smereniei şi a dreptăţii! Dreapta ta să înfăptuiască isprăvi de temut!

5 T hine arrows, by which the peoples fall under thee, penetrate the heart of the enemies of the king.

Săgeţile tale ascuţite să străpungă inima duşmanilor regelui şi popoarele să cadă sub picioarele tale!

6 ¶ Thy throne, O God, is eternal and for ever, the rod of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Tronul Tău, Dumnezeule, este pentru veci de veci, iar sceptrul împărăţiei Tale este un sceptru al dreptăţii!

7 T hou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Tu ai iubit dreptatea şi ai urât răutatea; de aceea, Dumnezeule, Dumnezeul Tău Te-a uns cu untdelemn de bucurie, mai presus decât pe tovarăşii Tăi.

8 A ll thy garments smell of myrrh and aloes and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made thee glad.

Toate veşmintele tale sunt înmiresmate cu smirnă, aloe şi casia. În palate de fildeş, instrumentele cu corzi te înveselesc.

9 K ings’ daughters were among thy honourable women; the queen stands at thy right hand with a crown of gold from Ophir.

Fiice de regi îţi sunt ţiitoare, regina îţi stă la dreapta, înveşmântată toată numai în aur de Ofir.

10 ¶ Hearken, O daughter, and consider and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;

Ascultă, fiică, priveşte şi pleacă-ţi urechea! Uită-ţi poporul şi casa părintească!

11 s o shall the king greatly desire thy beauty; and bow before him, for he is thy Lord.

Atunci regele va tânji după frumuseţea ta. Pentru că îţi este domn, supune-te lui!

12 A nd the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

Fiica Tirului va veni cu daruri; oameni bogaţi îţi vor căuta bunăvoinţa.

13 T he king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

Fiica regelui este plină de strălucire înăuntrul palatului; veşmântul ei este ţesut cu fir de aur.

14 S he shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework; the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

Cu haine brodate este adusă înaintea regelui; este însoţită de fecioare, care sunt aduse înaintea ta.

15 W ith gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought; they shall enter into the king’s palace.

Sunt aduse cu bucurie şi cu veselie, iar ele intră în palatul regelui.

16 I nstead of thy fathers shall be thy sons, whom thou shalt make princes in all the earth.

Fiii tăi vor lua locul părinţilor tăi; pe ei îi vei pune prinţi în toată ţara.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the people praise thee eternally and for ever.

Îţi voi aminti numele din neam în neam; de aceea te vor lăuda popoarele în veci de veci.
