1 ¶ The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted themselves and have done abominable iniquity; there is no one that does good.

Nebunul zice în inima lui: „Nu există Dumnezeu!“ S-au pervertit oamenii, săvârşesc fărădelegi îngrozitoare; nu mai există nici unul care să facă binele.

2 G od looked down from heaven upon the sons of Adam to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

Dumnezeu Îşi pleacă privirea din ceruri peste fiii oamenilor, ca să vadă dacă există vreunul care să aibă pricepere, vreunul care să-L caute pe Dumnezeu.

3 E very one of them is gone back; they are altogether become filthy; there is no one that does good, no, not one.

Toţi s-au rătăcit, cu toţii au devenit corupţi! Nu mai există unul care să facă binele, nici unul măcar!

4 H ave the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread; they have not called upon God.

Oare nu se vor învăţa niciodată minte cei ce săvârşesc nelegiuirea, cei ce-mi mănâncă poporul ca pe pâine şi nu-L cheamă pe Dumnezeu?

5 T hey were there in great fear where no fear was; for God has scattered the bones of him that encamps against thee: thou hast put them to shame because God has despised them.

Chiar acolo unde erau i-a apucat groaza, fără să fie vreo pricină de groază. Căci Dumnezeu a împrăştiat oasele celor ce te-au luat cu asalt şi i-ai făcut de ruşine, căci Dumnezeu i-a lepădat.

6 O h that the saving health of Israel were come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Cine va aduce izbăvire pentru Israel din Sion? Când Dumnezeu va aduce înapoi captivii poporului Său, să se înveselească Iacov şi să se bucure Israel!
