1 ¶ Then the heads of the fathers of the Levites came near unto Eleazar the priest and unto Joshua, the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel;

2 a nd they spoke unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in with the suburbs thereof for our beasts.

la Şilo, în Canaan, şi le-au vorbit astfel: „ Domnul a poruncit prin Moise să ni se dea cetăţi de locuit şi păşuni pentru animalele noastre.“

3 T hen the sons of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their possessions, according to the word of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.

Atunci israeliţii le-au dat leviţilor, pe teritoriul moştenirii lor, următoarele cetăţi cu păşunile din jur, aşa cum poruncise Domnul.

4 A nd the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites; and the sons of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah and out of the tribe of Simeon and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

O parte a ieşit la sorţi pentru clanurile chehatiţilor; acestor leviţi, care erau urmaşii preotului Aaron, li s-au dat treisprezece cetăţi pe teritoriul seminţiilor lui Iuda, a lui Simeon şi a lui Beniamin.

5 A nd the rest of the sons of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim and out of the tribe of Dan and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

Celorlalţi urmaşi ai lui Chehat li s-au dat zece cetăţi pe teritoriul clanurilor din seminţia lui Efraim, din seminţia lui Dan şi din jumătatea seminţiei lui Manase.

6 A nd the sons of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar and out of the tribe of Asher and out of the tribe of Naphtali and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

Urmaşilor lui Gherşon li s-au dat treisprezece cetăţi pe teritoriul clanurilor din seminţia lui Isahar, din seminţia lui Aşer, din seminţia lui Neftali şi din jumătatea seminţiei lui Manase, care ocupa Başanul.

7 T he sons of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben and out of the tribe of Gad and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

Urmaşilor lui Merari li s-au dat douăsprezece cetăţi pe teritoriul clanurilor din seminţia lui Ruben, din seminţia lui Gad şi din seminţia lui Zabulon.

8 T hus the sons of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD had commanded by the hand of Moses.

Israeliţii au dat astfel leviţilor cetăţile acestea cu păşunile din jur, aşa cum poruncise Domnul prin Moise.

9 ¶ And they gave out of the tribe of the sons of Judah and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon these cities which are here mentioned by name;

Pe teritoriul seminţiei urmaşilor lui Iuda şi al seminţiei urmaşilor lui Simeon au dat următoarele cetăţi menţionate pe nume,

10 a nd the first lot was of the sons of Aaron, of the family of Kohath, of the sons of Levi;

cetăţi care au revenit urmaşilor lui Aaron din clanurile chehatiţilor (urmaşii lui Levi), căci ei au ieşit primii la sorţi:

11 a nd they gave them the city of Arba of the father of Anak, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah, with its suburbs round about.

le-au dat Chiriat-Arba (Hebron) – Arba fusese tatăl lui Anac – cu păşunile din jur, în regiunea muntoasă a lui Iuda;

12 B ut the fields of the city and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

însă câmpia cetăţii şi satele dimprejurul ei i-au fost date ca moştenire, lui Caleb, fiul lui Iefune.

13 T hus they gave to the sons of Aaron the priest Hebron with its suburbs, to be a city of refuge for manslayers and Libnah with its suburbs

Au dat deci Hebronul urmaşilor preotului Aaron, ca cetate de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, cu păşunile din jur, precum şi Libna cu păşunile din jur,

14 a nd Jattir with its suburbs and Eshtemoa with its suburbs

Iatir cu păşunile din jur, Eştemoa cu păşunile din jur,

15 a nd Holon with its suburbs and Debir with its suburbs

Holon cu păşunile din jur, Debir cu păşunile din jur,

16 a nd Ain with its suburbs and Juttah with its suburbs and Bethshemesh with its suburbs: nine cities out of those two tribes.

Ayin cu păşunile din jur, Iuta cu păşunile din jur şi Bet-Şemeş cu păşunile din jur – nouă cetăţi pe teritoriul acestor două seminţii;

17 A nd out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its suburbs, Geba with its suburbs,

pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Beniamin le-au dat: Ghivon cu păşunile din jur, Gheva cu păşunile din jur,

18 A nathoth with its suburbs, and Almon with its suburbs: four cities.

Anatot cu păşunile din jur şi Almon cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi.

19 A ll these cities of the priests, the sons of Aaron, are thirteen cities with their suburbs.

Toate cetăţile preoţilor, urmaşii lui Aaron, cu păşunile din jurul lor erau în număr de treisprezece.

20 B ut the families of the sons of Kohath, Levites, those who remained of the sons of Kohath, received cities by lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.

Celorlalţi leviţi care au mai rămas din clanurile urmaşilor lui Chehat, li s-au dat cetăţi pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Efraim:

21 F or they gave them Shechem with its suburbs in the mountain of Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for manslayers, and Gezer with its suburbs,

le-au dat Şehem, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, cu păşunile din jur, în regiunea muntoasă a lui Efraim, Ghezer cu păşunile din jur,

22 K ibzaim with its suburbs, Bethhoron with its suburbs: four cities.

Chibţayim cu păşunile din jur şi Bet-Horon cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

23 A nd out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with its suburbs, Gibbethon with its suburbs,

pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Dan le-au dat: Elteke cu păşunile din jur, Ghibeton cu păşunile din jur,

24 A ijalon with its suburbs, Gathrimmon with its suburbs: four cities.

25 A nd out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with its suburbs and Gathrimmon with its suburbs: two cities.

pe teritoriul jumătăţii seminţiei lui Manase le-au dat: Taanah cu păşunile din jur şi Ibleam cu păşunile din jur – două cetăţi.

26 A ll the cities were ten with their suburbs for the remaining families of the sons of Kohath.

Toate cetăţile date clanurilor care au rămas din urmaşii lui Chehat, cu păşunile din jur, erau în număr de zece.

27 A nd unto the sons of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, to be a city of refuge for manslayers, and Beeshterah with its suburbs: two cities.

Gherşoniţilor, unul din clanurile leviţilor, le-au fost date, pe teritoriul jumătăţii seminţiei lui Manase, următoarele: Golan, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, care era în Başan, cu păşunile din jur şi Aştarot, cu păşunile din jur – două cetăţi;

28 A nd out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with its suburbs, Dabareh with its suburbs,

pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Isahar le-au dat: Kişion cu păşunile din jur, Dabrat cu păşunile din jur,

29 J armuth with its suburbs, Engannim with its suburbs: four cities.

30 A nd out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with its suburbs, Abdon with its suburbs,

31 H elkath with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs: four cities.

32 A nd out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, to be a city of refuge for manslayers, and Hammothdor with its suburbs and Kartan with its suburbs: three cities.

pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Neftali le-au dat: Kedeş, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, care era în Galileea, cu păşunile din jur, Hamot-Dor cu păşunile din jur şi Kartan cu păşunile din jur – trei cetăţi.

33 A ll the cities of those of Gershon according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

Toate cetăţile clanurilor gherşoniţilor erau în număr de treisprezece, fiecare cetate cu păşunile din jur.

34 A nd unto the families of the sons of Merari, Levites that remained, out of the tribe of Zebulun they gave them, Jokneam with its suburbs and Kartah with its suburbs,

Celorlalţi leviţi care au mai rămas din clanurile urmaşilor lui Merari, le-au fost date următoarele: pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Zabulon le-au dat: Iokneam cu păşunile din jur, Karta cu păşunile din jur,

35 D imnah with its suburbs, Nahalal with its suburbs: four cities.

Dimna cu păşunile din jur şi Nahalal cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

36 A nd out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer and Jahazah,

pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Ruben le-au dat: Beţer cu păşunile din jur, Iahaţ cu păşunile din jur,

37 K edemoth, and Mephaath: four cities.

Chedemot cu păşunile din jur şi Mefaat cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

38 A nd out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, to be a city of refuge for manslayers; and Mahanaim with its suburbs,

pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Gad le-au dat: Ramot, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, care era în Ghilad, cu păşunile din jur, Mahanayim cu păşunile din jur,

39 H eshbon with its suburbs, Jazer with its suburbs; four cities in all.

Heşbon cu păşunile din jur şi Iazer cu păşunile din jur – în total patru cetăţi.

40 S o all the cities for the sons of Merari by their families, who remained of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.

Toate cetăţile date clanurilor urmaşilor lui Merari, adică clanurilor leviţilor care mai rămăseseră, erau în număr de douăsprezece.

41 A ll the cities of the Levites within the possession of the sons of Israel were forty-eight cities with their suburbs.

Toate cetăţile leviţilor care erau pe teritoriul israeliţilor, împreună cu păşunile din jur, erau în număr de patruzeci şi opt.

42 E ach one of these cities were separated with their suburbs round about them; thus were all these cities.

Fiecare din aceste cetăţi îşi avea păşunile ei de jur împrejur; aşa era fiecare dintre aceste cetăţi. Împlinirea promisiunilor

43 ¶ Thus the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he swore to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it and dwelt therein.

Domnul a dat astfel lui Israel toată ţara pe care a jurat părinţilor lor că le-o va da, iar ei au luat-o în stăpânire şi au locuit în ea.

44 A nd the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he had sworn unto their fathers; and none of their enemies could stand before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hands.

Domnul le-a dat odihnă din toate părţile, aşa cum jurase părinţilor lor. Nimeni nu le-a putut sta împotrivă. Domnul i-a dat pe toţi duşmanii în mâna lor.

45 T here failed not a word of all the good things which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all of it came to pass.

Nu a rămas neîmplinit nici unul din lucrurile bune pe care Domnul le-a promis Casei lui Israel. Toate s-au împlinit.
