1 ¶ And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard and set a hedge about it and dug a place for the winefat and built a tower and let it out to husbandmen and went far away.

Apoi a început să le vorbească în pilde: – Un om a plantat o vie. A împrejmuit-o cu un gard, a săpat un teasc şi a construit un turn de pază. Apoi a arendat-o unor viticultori şi a plecat într-o călătorie.

2 A nd at the season he sent to the husbandmen a slave that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

La vremea roadelor a trimis un sclav la viticultori ca să ia de la ei partea cuvenită din roadele viei.

3 A nd taking him, they beat him and sent him away empty.

Viticultorii însă l-au apucat, l-au bătut şi l-au trimis înapoi cu mâinile goale.

4 A nd again he sent unto them another slave, and casting stones at him, they wounded him in the head and sent him away shamefully handled.

A trimis din nou la ei un alt sclav, dar şi pe acesta l-au bătut peste cap şi l-au înjosit.

5 A nd again he sent another, and him they killed and many others, beating some and killing some.

A trimis apoi un altul, dar pe acela l-au omorât, şi apoi încă mulţi alţii, dintre care pe unii i-au bătut, iar pe alţii i-au omorât.

6 H aving yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

Singurul pe care-l mai avea era un fiu preaiubit. În cele din urmă, l-a trimis la ei, spunându-şi: „Pe fiul meu îl vor respecta!“

7 B ut those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the place shall be ours.

Dar viticultorii aceia şi-au zis între ei: „Acesta este moştenitorul! Haideţi să-l omorâm, şi moştenirea va fi a noastră!“

8 A nd taking hold of him, they killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.

Şi l-au apucat, l-au omorât şi l-au scos afară din vie.

9 W hat, therefore, shall the lord of the vineyard do? He shall come and destroy those husbandmen and shall give his vineyard unto others.

Aşadar, ce va face stăpânul viei? Va veni şi-i va nimici pe viticultori, iar via o va da altora.

10 A nd have ye not read this scripture: The stone which the builders rejected is placed as the head of the corner;

N-aţi citit acest loc din Scriptură unde scrie: „Piatra pe care au respins-o zidarii a devenit piatra din capul unghiului.

11 T his was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Domnul a făcut acest lucru şi este minunat în ochii noştri!“?

12 A nd they sought to lay hold on him but feared the multitude, for they understood that he had spoken the parable against them, and leaving him, they went away.

Ei au căutat să-L prindă, dar le-a fost frică de popor; căci ei ştiau că împotriva lor spusese Isus pilda. Aşa că L-au lăsat şi au plecat. Tributul datorat Cezarului

13 ¶ And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to catch him in his words.

I-au trimis la El pe câţiva dintre farisei şi dintre irodieni ca să-L prindă în cursă cu vorba.

14 A nd when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art a man of truth who regards no man; for thou dost not look upon the appearance of men, but dost with truth teach the way of God; is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

Ei au venit şi I-au zis: – Învăţătorule, ştim că eşti corect, fără să-Ţi pese de nimeni, căci nu cauţi la faţa omului, ci îi înveţi pe oameni calea lui Dumnezeu în adevăr. Se cuvine să plătim tribut Cezarului sau nu? Să plătim sau să nu plătim?

15 S hall we give or shall we not give? Then he, understanding their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Bring me the coin that I may see it.

El însă, înţelegând ipocrizia lor, le-a zis: – De ce Mă puneţi la încercare? Aduceţi-Mi un denar, să-l văd!

16 A nd they brought it. And he said unto them, Of whom is this image and inscription? And they said unto him, Of Caesar.

Ei I-au adus. Isus i-a întrebat: – Chipul acesta şi inscripţia, ale cui sunt? – Ale Cezarului, I-au răspuns ei.

17 A nd Jesus, answering, said unto them, Render that which is of Caesar unto Caesar, and that which is of God unto God. And they marvelled at this.

Isus le-a zis: – Daţi deci Cezarului ce este al Cezarului, iar lui Dumnezeu ce este al lui Dumnezeu! Ei au rămas uimiţi de El. Despre înviere

18 ¶ Then come unto him the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

Au venit la El saducheii, care zic că nu există înviere, şi L-au întrebat:

19 M aster, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother dies and leaves his wife behind him and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife and raise up seed unto his brother.

– Învăţătorule, Moise ne-a scris că dacă fratele cuiva moare fără să aibă copii şi-i rămâne astfel doar soţia, fratele acestuia trebuie să se căsătorească cu văduva şi să-i ridice un urmaş fratelui său.

20 N ow there were seven brethren, and the first took a wife and dying left no seed.

Erau şapte fraţi. Primul şi-a luat o soţie, dar a murit fără să lase vreun urmaş.

21 A nd the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed; and the third likewise.

Al doilea s-a căsătorit cu văduva, dar şi el a murit fără să lase vreun urmaş. Aşa s-a întâmplat şi cu al treilea.

22 A nd the seven had her and left no seed; last of all the woman died also.

Şi nici unul din cei şapte n-a lăsat vreun urmaş. Femeia a murit ultima dintre toţi.

23 I n the resurrection, therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

La înviere, (când se vor scula,) soţia căruia dintre ei va fi ea? Căci toţi şapte au avut-o de soţie!

24 T hen Jesus, answering, said unto them, Do ye not therefore err because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

Isus le-a răspuns: – Oare nu vă rătăciţi voi tocmai pentru că nu cunoaşteţi nici Scripturile şi nici puterea lui Dumnezeu?

25 F or when they shall rise from the dead, neither shall they marry nor husbands take women nor women, husbands; but are as the angels who are in the heavens.

Căci atunci când se vor scula din morţi, nici nu se vor mai însura, nici nu se vor mai mărita, ci vor fi ca îngerii din ceruri.

26 A nd regarding the dead who are to rise, have ye not read in the book of Moses how in the bush God spoke unto him, saying, I Am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?

Iar cu privire la faptul că cei morţi sunt înviaţi, n-aţi citit în cartea lui Moise, acolo unde scrie despre tufiş, cum i-a vorbit Dumnezeu şi i-a zis: „Eu sunt Dumnezeul lui Avraam, Dumnezeul lui Isaac şi Dumnezeul lui Iacov.“ ?

27 H e is not God of the dead, but God of the living; ye therefore do greatly err.

El nu este un Dumnezeu al celor morţi, ci al celor vii! Sunteţi foarte rătăciţi! Cea mai mare poruncă

28 ¶ And one of the scribes came, having heard their dispute and knowing that he had given a good response unto them, asked him, Which is the principal commandment of all?

Unul dintre cărturari venise şi-i auzise discutând. Când a văzut că Isus le-a răspuns bine, L-a întrebat: – Care este cea dintâi poruncă dintre toate?

29 A nd Jesus responded unto him, The principal of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God, the Lord is one;

Isus i-a răspuns: – Cea dintâi poruncă este: „Ascultă, Israele! Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, este singurul Domn.

30 a nd thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy thought and with all thy strength: this is the principal commandment.

Să-L iubeşti pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, cu toată inima ta, cu tot sufletul tău, cu toată mintea ta şi cu toată puterea ta.“ (Aceasta este cea dintâi poruncă.)

31 A nd the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

Iar a doua este următoarea: „Să-l iubeşti pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuţi.“ Nu există altă poruncă mai mare decât acestea.

32 T hen the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth, that God is one, and there is none other outside of him;

Cărturarul I-a zis: – Bine, Învăţătorule! Este adevărat ceea ce ai spus, şi anume că El este Unul singur, că nu este altul în afară de El

33 a nd to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the soul and with all the strength and to love his neighbour as himself is more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.

şi că a-L iubi pe El cu toată inima, cu toată priceperea şi cu toată puterea şi a-l iubi pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuţi este mult mai mult decât toate arderile de tot şi decât toate jertfele.

34 T hen Jesus, seeing that he responded wisely, said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that dared ask him any question.

Când a văzut Isus că răspunsese cu înţelepciune, i-a zis: – Tu nu eşti departe de Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu. Şi nimeni nu mai îndrăznea să-i pună vreo întrebare. Al cui fiu este Cristos?

35 ¶ And answering, Jesus said, while he taught in the temple, How do the scribes say that the Christ is Son of David?

În timp ce dădea învăţătură în Templu, Isus a întrebat: – Cum de zic cărturarii despre Cristos că este fiul lui David?

36 F or David himself said by the Holy Spirit, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

David însuşi, în Duhul Sfânt, spune: „Domnul I-a zis Domnului meu: «Şezi la dreapta Mea, până-Ţi voi pune duşmanii sub picioare!»“

37 D avid therefore himself calls him Lord, and where then is he his son? And the many people heard him gladly.

David însuşi Îl numeşte „Domn“; deci cum este El fiul lui? Mulţimea cea mare Îl asculta cu plăcere.

38 A nd he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, who love to go in long clothing and love the salutations in the marketplaces

În învăţătura Lui, spunea: „Feriţi-vă de cărturari, cărora le place să umble în robe lungi, să fie salutaţi prin pieţe

39 a nd the first chairs in the synagogues and the first seats at the suppers,

şi să li se dea scaunele de onoare în sinagogi şi locurile de onoare la mese.

40 w hich devour widows’ houses and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater judgment.

Ei devorează casele văduvelor şi fac rugăciuni lungi de ochii lumii. Aceştia vor primi o condamnare mult mai mare.“ Văduva săracă şi dărnicia ei

41 ¶ And with Jesus sitting in front of the ark of the offering, he beheld how the people cast money into the ark and many that were rich cast in much.

S-a aşezat în faţa vistieriei Templului şi se uita cum punea mulţimea bani în vistierie. Mulţi din cei bogaţi puneau mult.

42 A nd as there came a certain poor widow, she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

A venit şi o văduvă săracă şi a pus două lepta, care fac un codrantes.

43 T hen calling his disciples, he said unto them, Verily I say unto you that this poor widow has cast more in than all those who have cast into the treasury,

Isus i-a chemat pe ucenicii Lui şi le-a zis: „Adevărat vă spun că această văduvă săracă a pus mai mult decât toţi cei care au pus în vistierie,

44 f or they all did cast in of their abundance, but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

pentru că toţi au pus din abundenţa lor, dar ea, din sărăcia ei, a pus tot ce avea, tot ce-i mai rămăsese ca să trăiască.“
