1 ¶ And this is the blessing, with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

Aceasta este binecuvântarea pe care Moise, omul lui Dumnezeu, a rostit-o pentru Israel, înainte de moartea sa.

2 A nd he said, The LORD came from Sinai and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from Mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of holiness, at his right hand the law of fire for them.

El a vorbit astfel: „ Domnul a venit din Sinai şi a răsărit peste ei din Seir. A strălucit din muntele Paran şi a venit din mijlocul zecilor de mii de sfinţi, din sud, de pe versanţii munţilor Lui.

3 Y ea, he loved the peoples; all his saints are in thy hand; they also united at thy feet; they received thy words.

Da, El Îşi iubeşte poporul, toţi sfinţii sunt în mâna Ta, ei s-au plecat la picioarele Tale şi au primit cuvintele Tale.

4 M oses commanded us law as inheritance unto the congregation of Jacob.

Moise ne-a dat Legea, moştenirea adunării lui Iacov.

5 A nd he was king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people, the tribes of Israel, were gathered together as one.

El era Împărat peste Ieşurun când se adunau conducătorii poporului împreună cu seminţiile lui Israel.

6 ¶ Let Reuben live and not die, and let not his men be few.

Să trăiască Ruben şi să nu moară, iar bărbaţii lui să fie fără număr.

7 A nd this blessing is for Judah, and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people; let his hands be sufficient for him, and be thou a help to him from his enemies.

Despre Iuda a zis: Ascultă, Doamne, glasul lui Iuda şi întoarce-l la poporul lui. Întăreşte-i mâinile şi ajută-l împotriva duşmanilor lui.

8 ¶ And to Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah,

Despre Levi a zis: Tumim şi Urim au fost încredinţate bărbatului pios, pe care l-ai încercat la Masa şi l-ai certat la apele Meribei.

9 w ho said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen them; neither did he acknowledge his brethren nor know his own children; therefore, they shall keep thy word and guard thy covenant.

El a spus despre tatăl său şi despre mama sa «Nu i-am văzut!», pe fraţii lui nu i-a recunoscut, iar de copiii lui n-a dorit să ştie, fiindcă a împlinit Cuvântul Tău şi a păzit legământul Tău.

10 T hey shall teach Jacob thy judgments and Israel thy law; they shall put incense before thy nostrils and a perfect sacrifice upon thine altar.

El învaţă pe Iacov poruncile Tale şi pe Israel Legea Ta. El aşază tămâie înaintea Ta şi jertfe pe altarul Tău.

11 B less, O LORD, his ministry, and take pleasure in the work of his hands; smite through the loins of those that rise up against him and of those that hate him that they may never rise again.

Doamne, binecuvântează tăria lui şi primeşte lucrarea mâinilor lui. Zdrobeşte coapsele celor ce se ridică împotriva lui şi cei ce-l urăsc să nu se mai ridice.

12 ¶ And to Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

Despre Beniamin a zis: Preaiubitul Domnului va locui în siguranţă lângă El, Domnul îl va ocroti în toate zilele şi el se va odihni între umerii Lui.

13 A nd to Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD is his land, for the gifts of the heavens, for the dew, and for the deep that is stretched out beneath,

Despre Iosif a zis: Binecuvântat de Domnul să fie pământul lui, cu roua îmbelşugată a cerului de sus şi cu apele adânci de jos,

14 a nd for the gifts of the fruits of the sun and for the gifts of the influence of the moon,

cu cele mai bune roade ale soarelui şi cu cele mai bune recolte ale fiecărei luni,

15 a nd for the summit of the ancient mountains and for the gifts of the everlasting hills,

cu înălţimile munţilor străvechi şi cu bunătăţile dealurilor veşnice.

16 a nd for the gifts of the earth and fullness thereof, and may the grace of him that dwelt in the bush come upon the head of Joseph and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

Cele mai bune daruri ale pământului, belşugul lui şi bunăvoinţa Celui Ce S-a arătat în rug să vină peste capul lui Iosif, pe creştetul capului său, a celui deosebit de fraţii săi.

17 H is beauty is like the firstborn of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns; with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth; these are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and these are the thousands of Manasseh.

El are frumuseţea întâiului născut al taurului. Coarnele lui sunt coarnele bivolului sălbatic. Cu ele va împunge popoarele până la capătul pământului; ele sunt zecile de mii ale lui Efraim şi miile lui Manase.

18 ¶ And to Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and thou, Issachar, in thy tents.

Despre Zabulon a zis: Bucură-te, Zabulon, de alergările tale şi tu, Isahar, de corturile tale.

19 T hey shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness; therefore they shall suck the abundance of the seas and hidden treasures of the sand.

Ei vor chema popoarele pe munte şi acolo vor oferi jertfe potrivite, căci vor sorbi bogăţia mărilor şi comorile ascunse în nisip.

20 A nd to Gad he said, Blessed is he that caused Gad to be enlarged; he shall dwell as a lion and shall tear the arm with the crown of the head.

Despre Gad a zis: Binecuvântat să fie cel ce lărgeşte hotarele lui Gad! El se odihneşte ca leul şi sfâşie la braţ sau la cap.

21 A nd he saw the best for himself because there the portion of the lawgiver was enclosed; and he came at the head of the people; he shall execute the righteousness of the LORD and his judgments with Israel.

El şi-a ales partea cea mai bună, căci acolo era ascunsă partea legiuitorului. El a venit cu căpeteniile poporului, a împlinit dreptatea Domnului şi judecăţile Lui cu privire la Israel.

22 ¶ And to Dan he said, Dan is a lion’s whelp; he shall leap from Bashan.

Despre Dan a zis: Dan este un pui de leu care a sărit din Başan.

23 A nd to Naphtali he said, Naphtali, filled with grace and full of the blessing of the LORD, shall inherit the west and the Negev.

Despre Neftali a zis: Neftali este sătul de bunăvoinţă şi este plin de binecuvântarea Domnului. El va moşteni în partea de sud, lângă lac.

24 A nd to Asher he said, Asher, more blessed than the sons, shall be acceptable unto his brethren and shall dip his foot in oil.

Despre Aşer a zis: Cel mai binecuvântat dintre fii este Aşer. Să fie plăcut fraţilor lui şi să-şi înmoaie picioarele în untdelemn.

25 T hy locks shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

Zăvoarele porţilor tale să fie de fier şi de bronz, iar puterea ta să ţină cât zilele tale.

26 ¶ There is no other like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rides upon the heavens for thy help, in the clouds with his excellency.

Nimeni nu este ca Dumnezeul lui Ieşurun, care străbate călare cerurile ca să te ajute şi trece pe nori cu măreţie.

27 T he habitation of God is eternal, and underneath the everlasting arms; he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee and shall say, Destroy them.

Dumnezeul cel veşnic este un adăpost, iar sub tine sunt braţele Lui veşnice. El îi va izgoni pe duşmani dinaintea ta şi va zice: «Nimiciţi-i!»

28 T hen Israel, the fountain of Jacob, shall dwell in safety alone in a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

Israel va locui singur la adăpost. Izvorul lui Iacov este în siguranţă în ţara cerealelor şi a mustului, unde cerul lasă să cadă roua.

29 B lessed art thou, O Israel, who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help and the sword of thy excellency? Thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee, and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Fericit eşti tu, Israel! Cine este ca tine, un popor mântuit de Domnul ? El este scutul şi ajutorul tău şi sabia ta glorioasă. Duşmanii tăi te vor linguşi şi tu vei călca peste înălţimile lor.“
