1 ¶ And I, brothers, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

Eu, fraţilor, nu v-am putut vorbi ca unor oameni duhovniceşti, ci ca unor oameni lumeşti, ca unor copilaşi în Cristos.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with solid food, for until now ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

V-am hrănit cu lapte, nu cu hrană tare, pentru că încă nu o puteaţi mânca. Şi nici chiar acum nu puteţi,

3 F or ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal and walk as men?

pentru că încă sunteţi lumeşti. Într-adevăr, când între voi există invidie, ceartă şi (dezbinări), nu sunteţi voi lumeşti şi nu trăiţi voi în felul celorlalţi oameni?

4 F or while one says, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal?

Atunci când cineva spune: „Eu sunt al lui Pavel!“, iar altul: „Eu sunt al lui Apolos!“, nu sunteţi voi ca ceilalţi oameni?

5 ¶ Who then is Paul? and who is Apollos? but servants by whom ye believed, each one according to that which the Lord gave.

Aşadar, cine este Apolos? Şi cine este Pavel? Slujitori prin care aţi crezut, aşa cum Domnul i-a dat fiecăruia.

6 I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

Eu am sădit, Apolos a udat, dar Dumnezeu a făcut să crească!

7 S o then neither is he that plants anything, neither he that waters, but God that gives the increase.

Aşa că nici cel ce sădeşte, nici cel ce udă nu sunt nimic, ci numai Dumnezeu, Care face să crească!

8 N ow he that plants and he that waters are one although each one shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

Însă cel ce sădeşte şi cel ce udă sunt una şi fiecare îşi va primi răsplata după strădania lui.

9 F or we are labourers together with God; ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

Căci noi suntem conlucrători cu Dumnezeu, iar voi sunteţi ogorul lui Dumnezeu, clădirea lui Dumnezeu.

10 A ccording to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds upon it. But let each one see how the building is built.

Potrivit cu harul lui Dumnezeu care mi-a fost dat, eu, ca un meşter constructor priceput, am pus temelia, şi altul construieşte pe ea. Dar fiecare să aibă grijă cum construieşte pe ea,

11 ¶ For no one can lay another foundation than that laid, which is Jesus the Christ.

pentru că nimeni nu poate pune o altă temelie decât cea care este pusă şi care este Isus Cristos.

12 N ow if anyone builds upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble,

Iar dacă cineva construieşte, pe această temelie, aur, argint, pietre preţioase, lemn, fân, paie,

13 t he work of each one shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire; the work of each one, whatever sort it is, the fire shall put it to test.

lucrarea fiecăruia va fi dezvăluită, pentru că Ziua o va face cunoscută, deoarece va fi descoperită prin foc. Şi focul va dovedi cum este lucrarea fiecăruia.

14 I f the work of anyone abides which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

Dacă lucrarea pe care a construit-o cineva, va rămâne, el va primi o răsplată.

15 I f anyone’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

Dar dacă lucrarea cuiva va fi arsă, el va suferi pierderea; cât despre el, va fi mântuit, dar ca prin foc.

16 ¶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Nu ştiţi că voi sunteţi templul lui Dumnezeu şi că Duhul lui Dumnezeu locuieşte în voi?

17 I f anyone defiles the temple of God, God shall destroy that one; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Dacă cineva distruge templul lui Dumnezeu, îl va distruge şi Dumnezeu pe el, pentru că templul lui Dumnezeu este sfânt; şi acest templu sunteţi voi.

18 ¶ Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you seems to be wise in this age, let them become a fool that they may be wise.

Nici unul dintre voi să nu se înşele! Dacă vreunul dintre voi crede că este înţelept în felul veacului acestuia, să se facă „nebun“ ca să devină înţelept!

19 F or the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness.

Căci înţelepciunea acestei lumi este nebunie înaintea lui Dumnezeu! Fiindcă este scris: „El îi prinde pe cei înţelepţi în viclenia lor.“

20 A nd again, The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Şi, din nou: „Domnul cunoaşte gândurile celor înţelepţi; ştie că sunt zadarnice.“

21 ¶ Therefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours;

Astfel, nimeni să nu se laude cu oameni, pentru că toate lucrurile sunt ale voastre:

22 w hether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come, all are yours;

fie Pavel, fie Apolos, fie Chifa, fie lumea, fie viaţa, fie moartea, fie prezentul, fie viitorul, toate sunt ale voastre,

23 a nd ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.

iar voi sunteţi ai lui Cristos, şi Cristos este al lui Dumnezeu.
