1 ¶ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Apoi am văzut un cer nou şi un pământ nou, căci primul cer şi primul pământ trecuseră, şi nici marea nu mai era.

2 A nd I, John, saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of the heaven, prepared of God as a bride adorned for her husband.

Şi am văzut Cetatea Sfântă, Noul Ierusalim, coborând din cer, de la Dumnezeu, pregătită ca o mireasă împodobită pentru soţul ei.

3 A nd I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them and be their God.

Am auzit un glas puternic ieşind de la tron şi spunând: „Iată, cortul lui Dumnezeu este cu oamenii! El va veni să locuiască împreună cu ei, iar ei vor fi poporul Lui. Şi Dumnezeu Însuşi va fi cu ei (şi va fi Dumnezeul lor).

4 A nd God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and death shall be no more neither shall there be any more sorrow nor crying nor pain; for the former things are passed away.

El va şterge orice lacrimă din ochii lor şi moartea nu va mai fi; nu va mai fi nici jale, nici strigăt, nici durere, pentru că lucrurile dintâi s-au dus.“

5 A nd he that was seated upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are faithful and true.

Cel Ce şedea pe tron a zis: „Iată, Eu fac toate lucrurile noi!“ A mai zis: „Scrie, pentru că aceste cuvinte sunt demne de încredere şi adevărate!“

6 A nd he said unto me, It is done. I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Apoi mi-a zis: „S-a terminat! Eu sunt Alfa şi Omega, Începutul şi Sfârşitul. Celui ce îi este sete îi voi da să bea fără plată din izvorul apei vieţii.

7 H e that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Cel ce învinge, va moşteni aceste lucruri şi Eu voi fi Dumnezeul Lui, iar el va fi fiul Meu.

8 B ut the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

Cât despre laşi, necredincioşi, scârboşi, ucigaşi, desfrânaţi, vrăjitori, închinători la idoli şi toţi mincinoşii, partea lor este în lacul care arde cu foc şi pucioasă, adică moartea a doua.“ Noul Ierusalim

9 ¶ And there came unto me one of the seven angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues and talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

Unul din cei şapte îngeri, care au avut cele şapte vase pline cu ultimele şapte urgii, a venit şi a vorbit cu mine, spunând: „Vino! Îţi voi arăta mireasa, soţia Mielului!“

10 A nd he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of the heaven from and with God,

M-a dus, în Duhul, pe un munte mare şi înalt şi mi-a arătat Cetatea Sfântă, Ierusalimul, coborând din cer, de la Dumnezeu.

11 h aving the clarity of God; and her light was like unto a most precious stone, even like a jasper stone, shining like crystal.

Ea avea slava lui Dumnezeu, iar strălucirea ei era ca a unei pietre deosebit de preţioasă, ca un jasp, strălucind ca şi cristalul.

12 A nd it had a wall great and high, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel:

Avea un zid mare şi înalt, avea douăsprezece porţi, iar la porţi – doisprezece îngeri. Pe ele erau scrise numele celor douăsprezece seminţii ale fiilor lui Israel.

13 O n the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

Trei porţi erau spre răsărit, trei porţi spre nord, trei porţi spre sud şi trei porţi spre apus.

14 A nd the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Zidul cetăţii avea douăsprezece temelii şi pe ele erau numele celor doisprezece apostoli ai Mielului.

15 A nd he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city and its gates and its wall.

Cel care a vorbit cu mine avea o trestie de aur pentru măsurat, ca să măsoare cetatea, porţile şi zidul ei.

16 A nd the city lies foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth; and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs; and the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

Cetatea era aşezată în formă de pătrat, lungimea ei fiind la fel ca şi lăţimea. A măsurat cetatea cu trestia şi era de douăsprezece mii de stadii. Lungimea, lăţimea şi înălţimea erau la fel.

17 A nd he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

A măsurat şi zidul şi era de o sută patruzeci şi patru de coţi, după unitatea de măsură a omului, căci pe aceasta o folosea îngerul.

18 A nd the material of its wall was jasper; but the city was of pure gold, like unto clean glass.

Zidul era construit din jasp, iar cetatea era din aur curat, asemenea sticlei curate.

19 A nd the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

Temeliile zidului cetăţii erau decorate cu tot felul de pietre preţioase. Prima temelie era de jasp, a doua – de safir, a treia – de calcedonie, a patra – de smarald,

20 t he fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

a cincea – de sardonix, a şasea – de sardiu, a şaptea – de crisolit, a opta – de beril, a noua – de topaz, a zecea – de crisopraz, a unsprezecea – de iacint, a douăsprezecea – de ametist.

21 A nd the twelve gates are twelve pearls; in each one, one; each gate was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as shining glass.

Cele douăsprezece porţi erau douăsprezece mărgăritare; fiecare poartă era dintr-un singur mărgăritar. Strada cetăţii era din aur curat, limpede ca sticla.

22 A nd I saw no temple in her; for the Lord God Almighty is her temple, and the Lamb.

N-am văzut nici un templu în cetate, pentru că Domnul, Dumnezeul cel Atotputernic şi Mielul sunt Templul ei.

23 A nd the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in her, for the clarity of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Cetatea nu are nevoie nici de soare, nici de lună, ca să-i dea lumină, pentru că o luminează slava lui Dumnezeu, iar Mielul este sfeşnicul ei.

24 A nd the Gentiles that have been saved shall walk in the light of her; and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honour into her.

Neamurile vor umbla în lumina ei, iar regii pământului îşi vor aduce gloria în ea.

25 A nd her gates shall never be shut by day; for there shall be no night there.

Porţile ei nu vor fi închise niciodată ziua şi acolo nu va mai fi noapte.

26 A nd they shall bring the glory and the honour of the Gentiles into it.

Gloria şi onoarea neamurilor vor fi aduse în ea.

27 A nd there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean or that works abomination or makes a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Nimic necurat nu va intra în ea şi nimeni care trăieşte în spurcăciune şi minciună, ci doar cei care sunt scrişi în Cartea Vieţii Mielului.
