1 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 C ommand the sons of Israel and say unto them, When ye have entered into the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan according to its borders),

„Porunceşte-le israeliţilor şi spune-le: «Când veţi intra în Canaan, ţara aceasta, care v-a căzut ca moştenire, ţara Canaanului, va avea următoarele hotare:

3 y ou shall have on the side of the Negev from the wilderness of Zin unto the borders of Edom, and your border towards the Negev shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward.

Partea de sud să se întindă de la pustia Ţin până la hotarul Edomului. Astfel hotarul de sud va începe de la marginea Mării Sărate spre răsărit,

4 A nd this border shall turn from the Negev to the ascent of Akrabbim and pass on to Zin, and the going forth thereof shall be from the Negev to Kadeshbarnea and shall go on to Hazaraddar and pass on to Azmon;

va trece pe la sud de Înălţimea Scorpionului şi va continua spre Ţin până la sud de Kadeş-Barnea. Apoi va trece prin Haţar-Adar spre Aţmon,

5 a nd the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the western sea.

unde se va întoarce până la Râul Egiptului şi se va sfârşi la mare.

6 A nd as for the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border; this shall be your west border.

Hotarul de apus va fi Marea cea Mare. Acesta vă va fi hotarul de apus.

7 A nd this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you Mount Hor.

Pentru hotarul de nord, trageţi o linie de la Marea cea Mare la muntele Hor,

8 F rom Mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath, and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad,

de la muntele Hor la Lebo-Hamat. Apoi hotarul va ajunge la Ţedad,

9 a nd the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan; this shall be your north border.

va continua la Zifron şi va sfârşi la Haţar-Enan. Acesta să vă fie hotarul de nord.

10 A nd ye shall point out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham,

Pentru hotarul de răsărit, trageţi o linie de la Haţar-Enan la Şefam.

11 a nd the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain, and the border shall descend and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward.

Hotarul va coborî de la Şefam la Ribla, la răsărit de Ayin, şi va continua pe marginea de răsărit a mării Chineret.

12 A nd the border shall go down to the Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea; this shall be your land with the borders thereof round about.

Apoi hotarul va coborî de-a lungul Iordanului şi se va sfârşi la Marea Sărată. Aceasta va fi ţara voastră, cu hotarele ei de jur împrejur.»“

13 A nd Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give unto the nine tribes and to the half tribe,

Moise le-a poruncit israeliţilor: „Aceasta este ţara pe care o veţi lua în stăpânire prin tragere la sorţi. Domnul a poruncit să fie dată la nouă seminţii şi jumătate,

14 b ecause the tribe of the sons of Reuben, according to the houses of their fathers, and the tribe of the sons of Gad, according to the houses of their fathers, and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.

căci seminţia urmaşilor lui Ruben, potrivit familiilor lor, seminţia urmaşilor lui Gad, potrivit familiilor lor şi jumătate din seminţia lui Manase şi-au primit moştenirea.

15 T he two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan of Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.

Aceste două seminţii şi jumătate şi-au primit moştenirea la răsărit de Iordan, în faţa Ierihonului, spre răsărit.“ Numele celor care trebuie să împartă ţara

16 ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a mai zis lui Moise:

17 T hese are the names of the men who shall divide the possession of the land for you: Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun.

„Iată numele bărbaţilor care trebuie să vă împartă ţara: preotul Elazar şi Iosua, fiul lui Nun.

18 A nd ye shall take one prince of every tribe to divide the possession of the land.

Să numeşti împreună cu ei câte un bărbat din fiecare seminţie, care să-i ajute la împărţirea ţării.

19 A nd the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.

Iată numele acestor bărbaţi: Caleb, fiul lui Iefune, din seminţia lui Iuda;

20 A nd of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel, the son of Ammihud.

Samuel, fiul lui Amihud, din seminţia lui Simeon;

21 O f the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad, the son of Chislon.

Elidad, fiul lui Chislon, din seminţia lui Beniamin;

22 A nd the of the tribe of the sons of Dan, the prince Bukki, the son of Jogli.

Buchi, fiul lui Iogli, conducător din seminţia lui Dan;

23 O f the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the prince Hanniel, the son of Ephod.

Haniel, fiul lui Efod, conducător din seminţia lui Manase, fiul lui Iosif;

24 A nd of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the prince Kemuel, the son of Shiphtan.

Chemuel, fiul lui Şiftan, conducător din seminţia lui Efraim, fiul lui Iosif;

25 A nd of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, the prince Elizaphan, the son of Parnach.

Eliţafan, fiul lui Parnak, conducător din seminţia lui Zabulon;

26 A nd of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the prince Paltiel, the son of Azzan.

Paltiel, fiul lui Azan, conducător din seminţia lui Isahar;

27 A nd of the tribe of the sons of Asher, the prince Ahihud, the son of Shelomi.

Ahihud, fiul lui Şelomi, conducător din seminţia lui Aşer;

28 A nd of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, the prince Pedahel, the son of Ammihud.

Pedahel, fiul lui Amihud, conducător din seminţia lui Neftali.“

29 T hese are those whom the LORD commanded to cause the sons of Israel to inherit the land of Canaan.

Aceştia sunt bărbaţii cărora Domnul le-a poruncit să le împartă israeliţilor moştenirea în ţara Canaanului.
