1 ¶ God, having spoken many times and in many ways in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

În trecut, Dumnezeu le-a vorbit strămoşilor noştri prin profeţi de multe ori şi în multe feluri,

2 h as in these last times spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the ages;

însă în aceste zile de pe urmă El ne-a vorbit prin Fiul, pe Care L-a pus moştenitor al tuturor lucrurilor şi prin Care a făcut veacurile.

3 w ho being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his substance and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

El, Care este oglindirea Slavei şi reprezentarea exactă a naturii Lui şi Care susţine toate lucrurile prin Cuvântul puterii Lui, a realizat curăţirea de păcate şi S-a aşezat la dreapta Măreţiei, în înălţimi,

4 ¶ being made so much better than the angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

devenind cu atât mai superior decât îngerii, cu cât Numele pe care l-a moştenit este mai minunat decât al lor.

5 F or unto which of the angels did he say at any time, Thou art my Son, this day I have begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Căci căruia dintre îngeri i-a zis vreodată: „Tu eşti Fiul Meu! Astăzi Te-am născut!“ ? Şi, din nou: „Eu voi fi Tatăl Lui, iar El va fi Fiul Meu.“

6 A nd again, when he brought in the firstbegotten into the world, he said, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Şi, din nou, când Îl aduce în lume pe întâiul născut, spune: „Toţi îngerii lui Dumnezeu să I se închine!“

7 A nd of the angels he said, Who makes his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire.

Iar despre îngeri spune: „Din vânturi El Îşi face îngeri şi din flăcări de foc – slujitori.“

8 B ut unto the Son he said, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a rod of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Însă despre Fiul zice: „Tronul Tău, Dumnezeule, este pentru veci de veci, iar sceptrul Împărăţiei Tale este un sceptru al dreptăţii!

9 T hou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore, God, even thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Tu ai iubit dreptatea şi ai urât răutatea; de aceea, Dumnezeule, Dumnezeul Tău Te-a uns cu untdelemn de bucurie, mai presus decât pe tovarăşii Tăi.“

10 A nd Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

Şi: „Tu, Doamne, ai întemeiat la început pământul, iar cerurile sunt lucrarea mâinilor Tale.

11 t hey shall perish; but thou dost remain; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

Ele vor pieri, dar Tu rămâi. Toate se vor învechi ca o haină.

12 a nd as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the same, and thy years shall never fail.

Le vei înfăşura ca pe un veşmânt şi vor fi schimbate ca pe o haină. Tu însă rămâi Acelaşi şi anii Tăi nu se vor sfârşi.“

13 B ut to which of the angels did he say at any time, Sit on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

Dar căruia dintre îngeri i-a zis vreodată: „Şezi la dreapta Mea până voi face din duşmanii Tăi aşternut al picioarelor Tale!“ ?

14 A re they not all ministering spirits, sent forth in service for the love of those who are the heirs of saving health?

Nu sunt ei toţi duhuri slujitoare, trimise să-i slujească pe cei ce urmează să moştenească mântuirea?
