1 ¶ Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy mercy; according unto the multitude of thy compassion eradicate my rebellion.

Ai milă de mine, Dumnezeule, după îndurarea Ta! În bunăvoinţa Ta cea mare, şterge nelegiuirile mele!

2 W ash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

Spală-mă de vina mea şi curăţeşte-mă de păcatul meu!

3 F or I acknowledge my rebellion; and my sin is ever before me.

Căci îmi cunosc nelegiuirile şi păcatul meu stă neîncetat înaintea mea.

4 A gainst thee, against thee only, have I sinned and done this evil in thy sight that thou be declared just in thy word and pure in thy judgment.

Împotriva Ta, numai împotriva Ta am păcătuit şi am făcut ceea ce este rău înaintea Ta, aşa că Tu eşti găsit drept când vorbeşti şi eşti fără pată când judeci.

5 B ehold, the pain of my iniquity has caused me to writhe; my mother conceived me so that sin might be removed from me.

Iată că sunt născut în nelegiuire, în păcat m-a zămislit mama mea.

6 B ehold, thou dost desire truth in the inward parts, and in the secret things thou hast made me to know wisdom.

Tu doreşti ca adevărul să fie în adâncurile fiinţei; fă-mi deci cunoscută înţelepciunea înăuntrul meu.

7 ¶ Remove the sin in me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Curăţeşte-mă cu isop şi voi fi curat, spală-mă şi voi fi mai alb decât zăpada.

8 M ake me to hear joy and gladness that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

Fă-mă să aud veselie şi bucurie, iar oasele pe care Tu le-ai zdrobit se vor veseli.

9 H ide thy face from my sins and eradicate all my iniquities.

Ascunde-Ţi faţa de păcatele mele, şterge toate nelegiuirile mele!

10 C reate in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Zideşte în mine o inimă curată, Dumnezeule, şi pune un duh nou şi statornic înăuntrul meu!

11 C ast me not away from thy presence and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.

Nu mă izgoni din prezenţa Ta şi nu lua de la mine Duhul Tău cel Sfânt!

12 R estore unto me the joy of thy saving health, and thy spirit of liberty shall uphold me.

Dă-mi iarăşi bucuria mântuirii Tale; sprijină-mă cu un duh de bunăvoinţă!

13 T hen I will teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Atunci voi învăţa căile Tale pe cei ce le calcă, şi păcătoşii se vor întoarce la Tine.

14 ¶ Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

Dumnezeule, izbăveşte-mă de vina sângelui vărsat, Dumnezeul mântuirii mele, şi limba mea va cânta dreptatea Ta!

15 O Lord, open my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

Stăpâne, deschide-mi buzele, iar gura mea va vesti lauda Ta!

16 F or thou dost not desire sacrifice or else would I give it; thou dost not delight in burnt offering.

Dacă Ţi-ar fi plăcut jertfele, Ţi-aş fi adus, dar Ţie nu-Ţi plac arderile de tot.

17 T he sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Jertfa plăcută lui Dumnezeu este un duh zdrobit; Dumnezeule, Tu nu dispreţuieşti o inimă frântă şi mâhnită.

18 D o good in thy good pleasure unto Zion; build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

În bunăvoinţa Ta, fă bine Sionului şi construieşte zidurile Ierusalimului!

19 T hen thou shalt be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, the burnt offering, the offering that has been totally consumed by the fire; then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Atunci te vei bucura de jertfe potrivite, arderi de tot întregi; atunci se vor aduce viţei pe altarul Tău.
