1 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

A palavra do Senhor veio a mim. Disse ele:

2 S on of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy and say unto those that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD:

“Filho do homem, profetize contra os profetas de Israel que estão profetizando agora. Diga àqueles que estão profetizando pela sua própria imaginação: Ouçam a palavra do Senhor!

3 t hus hath the Lord GOD said: Woe unto the foolish prophets that follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Ai dos profetas tolos que seguem o seu próprio espírito e não viram nada!

4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

Seus profetas, ó Israel, são como chacais no meio de ruínas.

5 Y e have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

Vocês não foram consertar as brechas do muro para a nação de Israel, para que ela pudesse resistir firme no combate do dia do Senhor.

6 T hey have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD has not sent them, and they have made others to wait for the word to be confirmed.

Suas visões são falsas e suas adivinhações, mentira. Dizem ‘Palavra do Senhor ’, quando o Senhor não os enviou; contudo, esperam que as suas palavras se cumpram.

7 H ave ye not seen a vain vision and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD hath said it; albeit I have not spoken?

Acaso vocês não tiveram visões falsas e não pronunciaram adivinhações mentirosas quando disseram ‘Palavra do Senhor ’, sendo que eu não falei?

8 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies; therefore, behold, I am against you, said the Lord GOD.

“Portanto assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Por causa de suas palavras falsas e de suas visões mentirosas, estou contra vocês. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.

9 A nd my hand shall be against the prophets that see vanity and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the book of the house of Israel, neither shall they return to the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Minha mão será contra os profetas que têm visões falsas e proferem adivinhações mentirosas. Eles não pertencerão ao conselho de meu povo, não estarão inscritos nos registros da nação de Israel e não entrarão na terra de Israel. Então vocês saberão que eu sou o Soberano, o Senhor.

10 ¶ Therefore and because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up the wall, and, behold, others plastered it with loose mud:

“Porque fazem o meu povo desviar-se dizendo-lhe ‘Paz’ quando não há paz e, quando constroem um muro frágil, passam-lhe cal,

11 s ay unto those who plaster it with loose mud, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing rain; and I shall send great hailstones that will cause it to fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

diga àqueles que lhe passam cal: Esse muro vai cair! Virá chuva torrencial, e derramarei chuva de pedra, e rajarão ventos violentos.

12 A nd behold, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the mud with which ye have plastered it?

Quando o muro desabar, o povo lhes perguntará: ‘Onde está a caiação que vocês fizeram?’

13 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: I will cause a stormy wind to rend it in my fury; and there shall come an overflowing rain in my anger and great hailstones in my wrath to consume it.

“Por isso, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Na minha ira permitirei o estouro de um vento violento, e na minha indignação chuva de pedra e um aguaceiro torrencial cairão com ímpeto destruidor.

14 S o I will break down the wall that ye have plastered with loose mud and bring it down to the ground, and its foundation shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Despedaçarei o muro que vocês caiaram e o arrasarei para que se desnudem os seus alicerces. Quando ele cair, vocês serão destruídos com ele; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

15 T hus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall and upon those that have plastered it with loose mud and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither those that plastered it;

Assim esgotarei minha ira contra o muro e contra aqueles que o caiaram. Direi a vocês: O muro se foi, e também aqueles que o caiaram,

16 t o wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, said the Lord GOD.

os profetas de Israel que profetizaram sobre Jerusalém e tiveram visões de paz para ela quando não havia paz. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.

17 ¶ Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who prophesy out of their own heart; prophesy thou against them,

“Agora, filho do homem, vire o rosto contra as filhas do seu povo que profetizam pela sua própria imaginação. Profetize contra elas

18 A nd say, Thus hath the Lord GOD said; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Must ye hunt the souls of my people to maintain thus your own life?

e diga: Assim diz o Senhor, o Soberano: Ai das mulheres que costuram berloques de feitiço em seus pulsos e fazem véus de vários comprimentos para a cabeça a fim de enlaçarem o povo. Pensam que vão enlaçar a vida do meu povo e preservar a de vocês?

19 A nd will ye profane me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, slaying the souls that should not die and giving life to the souls that should not live, by your lying to my people that listen to the lie?

Vocês me profanaram no meio de meu povo em troca de uns punhados de cevada e de migalhas de pão. Ao mentirem ao meu povo, que ouve mentiras, vocês mataram aqueles que não deviam ter morrido e pouparam aqueles que não deviam viver.

20 T herefore thus hath the Lord GOD said; Behold, I am against your pillows, with which ye hunt there the loose souls, and I will tear them from your arms and will let the souls go, even the loose souls that ye hunt.

“Por isso, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Estou contra os seus berloques de feitiço com os quais vocês prendem o povo como se fossem passarinhos, e os arrancarei dos seus braços; porei em liberdade o povo que vocês prendem como passarinhos.

21 Y our kerchiefs also I will tear and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall no longer be in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Rasgarei os seus véus e libertarei o meu povo das mãos de vocês, e ele não será mais presa do seu poder. Então vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

22 B ecause with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and ye strengthen the hands of the wicked that he should not leave his wicked way, encouraging him:

Vocês, mentindo, desencorajaram o justo contra a minha vontade, e encorajaram os ímpios a não se desviarem dos seus maus caminhos para salvarem a sua vida.

23 t herefore ye shall not see vanity, nor divine divinations any longer: for I will deliver my people out of your hand; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Por isso, vocês não terão mais visões falsas e nunca mais vão praticar adivinhação. Livrarei o meu povo das mãos de vocês. E então vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor ”.
