1 ¶ And cause Aaron, thy brother, to come unto thee with his sons, from among the sons of Israel, that they may be my priests, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.

“Chame seu irmão Arão e separe-o dentre os israelitas, e também os seus filhos Nadabe e Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar, para que me sirvam como sacerdotes.

2 A nd thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron, thy brother, for honour and for beauty.

Para o seu irmão Arão, faça vestes sagradas que lhe confiram dignidade e honra.

3 A nd thou shalt speak unto all that are wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the Spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to sanctify him, that he may be my priest.

Diga a todos os homens capazes, aos quais dei habilidade, que façam vestes para a consagração de Arão, para que me sirva como sacerdote.

4 A nd these are the garments which they shall make: the pectoral, the ephod, the robe, the broidered coat, the mitre, and the girdle. Therefore let them make the holy garments for Aaron, thy brother, and his sons, that they may be my priests.

São estas as vestes que farão: um peitoral, um colete sacerdotal, um manto, uma túnica bordada, um turbante e um cinturão. Para que o sacerdote Arão e seus filhos me sirvam como sacerdotes, eles farão essas vestes sagradas

5 A nd they shall take gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine linen,

e usarão linho fino, fios de ouro e fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho. O Colete Sacerdotal

6 ¶ and they shall make the ephod of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.

“Faça o colete sacerdotal de linho fino trançado, de fios de ouro e de fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho, trabalho artesanal.

7 I t shall have its two shoulderpieces joined at the two edges thereof, and so it shall be joined together.

Terá duas ombreiras atadas às suas duas extremidades para uni-lo bem.

8 A nd the special girdle of the ephod, which shall be over it, shall be of its same workmanship, of the same materials: of gold, blue, purple, scarlet and fine twined linen.

O cinturão e o colete que por ele é preso serão feitos da mesma peça. O cinturão também será de linho fino trançado, de fios de ouro e de fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho.

9 A nd thou shalt take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel:

“Grave em duas pedras de ônix os nomes dos filhos de Israel,

10 S ix of their names on one stone and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.

por ordem de nascimento: seis nomes numa pedra e seis na outra.

11 W ith the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a seal, shalt thou engrave those two stones with the names of the sons of Israel; thou shalt make them to be set in settings of gold.

Grave os nomes dos filhos de Israel nas duas pedras como o lapidador grava um selo. Em seguida prenda-as com filigranas de ouro,

12 A nd thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the sons of Israel, and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

costurando-as nas ombreiras do colete sacerdotal, como pedras memoriais para os filhos de Israel. Assim Arão levará os nomes em seus ombros como memorial diante do Senhor.

13 A nd thou shalt make the settings of gold

Faça filigranas de ouro

14 a nd two small chains of pure gold; of wreathen work shalt thou make them and fasten the wreathen chains to the settings.

e duas correntes de ouro puro, entrelaçadas como uma corda; e prenda as correntes às filigranas. O Peitoral

15 ¶ And in the same manner thou shalt make the pectoral of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it, of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and of fine twined linen.

“Faça um peitoral de decisões, trabalho artesanal. Faça-o como o colete sacerdotal: de linho fino trançado, de fios de ouro e de fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho.

16 I t shall be square and double; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.

Será quadrado, com um palmo de comprimento e um palmo de largura, e dobrado em dois.

17 A nd thou shalt fill it with four rows of stones; The order shall be a ruby, an emerald, and a chrysolite; this shall be the first order.

Em seguida, fixe nele quatro fileiras de pedras preciosas. Na primeira fileira haverá um rubi, um topázio e um berilo;

18 A nd the second order shall be a carbuncle, a sapphire, and a diamond.

na segunda, uma turquesa, uma safira e um diamante;

19 A nd the third order, a topaz, a turquoise, and an amethyst.

na terceira, um jacinto, uma ágata e uma ametista;

20 A nd the fourth row a tarshish (or beryl) and an onyx and a jasper; they shall be set in gold in their inclosings.

na quarta, um crisólito, um ônix e um jaspe.

21 A nd those stones shall be in agreement with the names of the sons of Israel, twelve, in agreement with their names; each one in agreement with his name like the engravings of a seal; they shall be according to the twelve tribes.

Serão doze pedras, uma para cada um dos nomes dos filhos de Israel, cada uma gravada como um selo, com o nome de uma das doze tribos.

22 A nd thou shalt also make upon the pectoral small chains of wreathen work of pure gold.

“Faça para o peitoral correntes de ouro puro trançadas como cordas.

23 A nd thou shalt make upon the pectoral two rings of gold and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the pectoral.

Faça também duas argolas de ouro e prenda-as às duas extremidades do peitoral.

24 A nd thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the pectoral.

Prenda as duas correntes de ouro às argolas nas extremidades do peitoral,

25 A nd the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in the two settings and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod on the front of it.

e as outras extremidades das correntes, às duas filigranas, unindo-as às peças das ombreiras do colete sacerdotal, na parte da frente.

26 T hou shalt also make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the pectoral in the border thereof, which is in the side of the ephod inward.

Faça outras duas argolas de ouro e prenda-as às outras duas extremidades do peitoral, na borda interna, próxima ao colete sacerdotal.

27 L ikewise two other rings of gold thou shalt make and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the front part thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the special girdle of the ephod.

Faça mais duas argolas de ouro e prenda-as na parte inferior das ombreiras, na frente do colete sacerdotal, próximas da costura, logo acima do cinturão do colete sacerdotal.

28 A nd they shall bind the pectoral by its rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the special girdle of the ephod and that the pectoral not be loosed from the ephod.

As argolas do peitoral serão amarradas às argolas do colete com um cordão azul, ligando o peitoral ao cinturão, para que não se separe do colete sacerdotal.

29 A nd Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the pectoral of judgment upon his heart when he goes in unto the sanctuary for a memorial before the LORD continually.

“Toda vez que Arão entrar no Lugar Santo, levará os nomes dos filhos de Israel sobre o seu coração no peitoral de decisões, como memorial permanente perante o Senhor.

30 A nd thou shalt put in the pectoral of judgment Urim and Thummim, that they shall be upon Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the LORD; and Aaron shall always bear the judgment of the sons of Israel upon his heart before the LORD.

Ponha também o Urim e o Tumim no peitoral das decisões, para que estejam sobre o coração de Arão sempre que ele entrar na presença do Senhor. Assim, Arão levará sempre sobre o coração, na presença do Senhor, os meios para tomar decisões em Israel. Outras Vestes Sacerdotais

31 ¶ And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

“Faça o manto do colete sacerdotal inteiramente de fios de tecido azul,

32 A nd it shall have the collar of his head in the midst thereof, which shall have a binding of woven work round about it, as the collar of a habergeon, that it not be rent.

com uma abertura para a cabeça no centro. Ao redor dessa abertura haverá uma dobra tecida, como uma gola, para que não se rasgue.

33 A nd beneath upon the hem of it, thou shalt make pomegranates of blue and of purple and of scarlet round about the hem thereof and bells of gold between them round about.

Faça romãs de fios de tecidos azul, roxo e vermelho em volta da borda do manto, intercaladas com pequenos sinos de ouro.

34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate upon the hem of the robe round about.

Os sinos de ouro e as romãs se alternarão por toda a volta da borda do manto.

35 A nd it shall be upon Aaron to minister, and his sound shall be heard when he goes in unto the sanctuary before the LORD and when he comes out, that he not die.

Arão o vestirá quando ministrar. O som dos sinos será ouvido quando ele entrar no Lugar Santo diante do Senhor e quando sair, para que não morra.

36 T hou shalt also make an open flower of pure gold and engrave upon it the engravings of a seal, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD.

“Faça um diadema de ouro puro e grave nele como se grava um selo: Consagrado ao Senhor.

37 A nd thou shalt put it on with a blue lace that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.

Prenda-o na parte da frente do turbante com uma fita azul.

38 A nd it shall be upon Aaron’s forehead that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the sons of Israel shall sanctify in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead that they may find grace before the LORD.

Estará sobre a testa de Arão; assim ele levará a culpa de qualquer pecado que os israelitas cometerem em relação às coisas sagradas, ao fazerem todas as suas ofertas. Estará sempre sobre a testa de Arão, para que as ofertas sejam aceitas pelo Senhor.

39 A nd thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle of needlework.

“Teça a túnica e o turbante com linho fino. O cinturão será feito por um bordador.

40 ¶ And for Aaron’s sons thou shalt make coats; thou shalt also make girdles for them, and tiaras shalt thou make for them, for honour and for beauty.

Faça também túnicas, cinturões e gorros para os filhos de Arão, para conferir-lhes honra e dignidade.

41 A nd with these thou shalt clothe Aaron, thy brother, and his sons with him and shalt anoint them and fill their hands and sanctify them that they may be my priests.

Depois de vestir seu irmão Arão e os filhos dele, unja-os e consagre-os, para que me sirvam como sacerdotes.

42 A nd thou shalt make them linen underwear to cover their nakedness; they shall reach from the loins even unto the thighs;

“Faça-lhes calções de linho que vão da cintura até a coxa, para cobrirem a sua nudez.

43 A nd they shall be upon Aaron and upon his sons when they enter into the tabernacle of the testimony or when they come near unto the altar to serve in the sanctuary that they not bear iniquity and die: This shall be a perpetual statute unto him and his seed after him.

Arão e seus filhos terão que vesti-los sempre que entrarem na Tenda do Encontro ou quando se aproximarem do altar para ministrar no Lugar Santo, para que não incorram em culpa e morram. “Este é um decreto perpétuo para Arão e para os seus descendentes.
