1 ¶ Why dost thou boast of evil, O strong man? The mercy of God is day by day.

3 T hou dost love evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

4 T hou dost love all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

5 G od shall likewise cast thee down for ever; he shall cut thee off and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

Saiba que Deus o arruinará para sempre: ele o agarrará e o arrancará da sua tenda; ele o desarraigará da terra dos vivos. Pausa

6 ¶ The righteous also shall see and fear and shall laugh at him, saying:

Os justos verão isso e temerão; rirão dele, dizendo:

7 B ehold, this is the man that did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

“Veja só o homem que rejeitou a Deus como refúgio; confiou em sua grande riqueza e buscou refúgio em sua maldade!”

8 B ut I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the eternal mercy of God for ever.

Mas eu sou como uma oliveira que floresce na casa de Deus; confio no amor de Deus para todo o sempre.

9 I will praise thee for ever because thou hast done it, and I will wait on thy name, for it is good before thy merciful ones.

Para sempre te louvarei pelo que fizeste; na presença dos teus fiéis proclamarei o teu nome, porque tu és bom.
