1 ¶ The rebellion of the wicked saith to my heart that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

Há no meu íntimo um oráculo a respeito da maldade do ímpio: Aos seus olhos é inútil temer a Deus.

2 F or he flatters himself in his own eyes until his iniquity is found to be hateful.

Ele se acha tão importante, que não percebe nem rejeita o seu pecado.

3 T he words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit; he has left off to be wise and to do good.

As palavras da sua boca são maldosas e traiçoeiras; abandonou o bom senso e não quer fazer o bem.

4 H e devises iniquity upon his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not abhor evil.

Até na sua cama planeja maldade; nada há de bom no caminho a que se entregou, e ele nunca rejeita o mal.

5 ¶ Thy mercy, O LORD, reaches unto the heavens, and thy truth reaches unto the clouds.

O teu amor, Senhor, chega até os céus; a tua fidelidade até as nuvens.

6 T hy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy judgments are a great deep; O LORD, thou dost preserve man and beast.

A tua justiça é firme como as altas montanhas; as tuas decisões insondáveis como o grande mar. Tu, Senhor, preservas tanto os homens quanto os animais.

7 H ow excellent is thy mercy, O God! therefore the sons of Adam cover themselves in the shadow of thy wings.

Como é precioso o teu amor, ó Deus! Os homens encontram refúgio à sombra das tuas asas.

8 T hey shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house, and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

Eles se banqueteiam na fartura da tua casa; tu lhes dás de beber do teu rio de delícias.

9 F or with thee is the fountain of life; in thy light shall we see light.

Pois em ti está a fonte da vida; graças à tua luz, vemos a luz.

10 E xtend thy mercy unto those that know thee and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Estende o teu amor aos que te conhecem, a tua justiça aos que são retos de coração.

11 L et not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

Não permitas que o arrogante me pisoteie, nem que a mão do ímpio me faça recuar.

12 T here are the workers of iniquity fallen; they are cast down and shall not be able to rise.

Lá estão os malfeitores caídos, lançados ao chão, incapazes de levantar-se!
