1 ¶ LORD, I have called unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

Clamo a ti, Senhor; vem depressa! Escuta a minha voz quando clamo a ti.

2 L et my prayer be set forth before thee as incense, the gift of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Seja a minha oração como incenso diante de ti, e o levantar das minhas mãos, como a oferta da tarde.

3 S et a watch, O LORD, upon my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Coloca, Senhor, uma guarda à minha boca; vigia a porta de meus lábios.

4 I ncline not my heart to any evil thing, to do works with ungodliness with the men that work iniquity, and let me not eat of their dainties.

Não permitas que o meu coração se volte para o mal, nem que eu me envolva em práticas perversas com os malfeitores. Que eu nunca participe dos seus banquetes!

5 ¶ Let the righteous smite me in mercy, and let him reprove me: and let not a flattering evil prince anoint my head, for my prayer shall ever be against his evil.

Fira-me o justo com amor leal e me repreenda, mas não perfume a minha cabeça o óleo do ímpio, pois a minha oração é contra as práticas dos malfeitores.

6 T heir judges shall be thrown down from strong places; they shall hearken unto my words; for they are sweet.

Quando eles caírem nas mãos da Rocha, o juiz deles, ouvirão as minhas palavras com apreço.

7 O ur bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol, as when one cuts and cleaves wood upon the earth.

Como a terra é arada e fendida, assim foram espalhados os seus ossos à entrada da sepultura.

8 T herefore mine eyes look unto thee, O GOD the Lord; in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

Mas os meus olhos estão fixos em ti, ó Soberano Senhor; em ti me refugio; não me entregues à morte.

9 K eep me from the hands of the snare which they have laid for me, and from the snares of the workers of iniquity.

Guarda-me das armadilhas que prepararam contra mim, das ciladas dos que praticam o mal.

10 L et the wicked fall together into their own nets, whilst I pass on ahead forever.

Caiam os ímpios em sua própria rede, enquanto eu escapo ileso.
