1 ¶ It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:

2 T o show forth thy mercy in the morning and thy faithfulness every night

anunciar de manhã o teu amor leal e de noite a tua fidelidade,

3 u pon an instrument of ten strings and upon the psaltery, upon the harp with a pleasant sound.

ao som da lira de dez cordas e da cítara, e da melodia da harpa.

4 F or thou, O LORD, hast made me glad with thy work; I will delight in the works of thy hands.

Tu me alegras, Senhor, com os teus feitos; as obras das tuas mãos levam-me a cantar de alegria.

5 O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

Como são grandes as tuas obras, Senhor, como são profundos os teus propósitos!

6 A carnal man does not know, neither does a fool understand this:

O insensato não entende, o tolo não vê

7 ¶ The wicked spring forth as the grass, and all the workers of iniquity blossom, so that they shall be destroyed for ever:

que, embora os ímpios brotem como a erva e floresçam todos os malfeitores, eles serão destruídos para sempre.

8 B ut thou, O LORD, art most high for evermore.

Pois tu, Senhor, és exaltado para sempre.

9 F or, behold, thine enemies, O LORD, for behold, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

Mas os teus inimigos, Senhor, os teus inimigos perecerão; serão dispersos todos os malfeitores!

10 B ut my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn; I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

Tu aumentaste a minha força como a do boi selvagem; derramaste sobre mim óleo novo.

11 A nd my eye saw my desire on my enemies, and my ears heard my desire of those that rose up against me, of the wicked.

Os meus olhos contemplaram a derrota dos meus inimigos; os meus ouvidos escutaram a debandada dos meus maldosos agressores.

12 T he righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Os justos florescerão como a palmeira, crescerão como o cedro do Líbano;

13 T hose that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.

plantados na casa do Senhor, florescerão nos átrios do nosso Deus.

14 T hey shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be vigorous and flourishing

Mesmo na velhice darão fruto, permanecerão viçosos e verdejantes,

15 t o show that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

para proclamar que o Senhor é justo. Ele é a minha Rocha; nele não há injustiça.
