1 ¶ Do not rejoice, O Israel, for joy, as the peoples; for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved the salary of a harlot upon every threshing floor.

Не радуйся, Израиль, до восторга, как народы, ибо ты блудодействуешь, удалившись от Бога твоего: любишь блудодейные дары на всех гумнах.

2 T he threshing floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

Гумно и точило не будут питать их, и на виноградный сок обманет их.

3 T hey shall not remain in the land of the LORD; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt and to Assyria where they shall eat unclean food.

Не будут они жить на земле Господней: Ефрем возвратится в Египет, и в Ассирии будут есть нечистое.

4 T hey shall not pour out wine unto the LORD, neither shall he take pleasure in their sacrifices; as the bread of mourners shall they be unto them; all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall not enter into the house of the LORD because of their soul.

Не будут возливать Господу вина, и неугодны Ему будут жертвы их; они будут для них, как хлеб похоронный: все, которые будут есть его, осквернятся, ибо хлеб их--для души их, а в дом Господень он не войдет.

5 W hat will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

Что будете делать в день торжества и в день праздника Господня?

6 F or, behold, they have left because of the destruction; Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: nettles shall possess in inheritance that which is desirable of their silver; thorns shall grow up in their dwellings.

Ибо вот, они уйдут по причине опустошения; Египет соберет их, Мемфис похоронит их; драгоценностями их из серебра завладеет крапива, колючий терн будет в шатрах их.

7 ¶ The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it; the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is a fool, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

Пришли дни посещения, пришли дни воздаяния; да узнает Израиль, что глуп прорицатель, безумен выдающий себя за вдохновенного, по причине множества беззаконий твоих и великой враждебности.

8 T he watchman of Ephraim regarding my God, the prophet, is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, hatred in the house of his God.

Ефрем--страж подле Бога моего; пророк--сеть птицелова на всех путях его; соблазн в доме Бога его.

9 T hey have arrived at the depths, they have corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah; therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sin.

Глубоко упали они, развратились, как во дни Гивы; Он вспомнит нечестие их, накажет их за грехи их.

10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the early fruit of the fig tree in her beginning; but they went in unto Baalpeor and separated themselves unto shame and made themselves as abominable as that which they loved.

Как виноград в пустыне, Я нашел Израиля; как первую ягоду на смоковнице, в первое время ее, увидел Я отцов ваших, --но они пошли к Ваал-Фегору и предались постыдному, и сами стали мерзкими, как те, которых возлюбили.

11 ¶ As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth even from the womb and from the conception.

У Ефремлян, как птица улетит слава: ни рождения, ни беременности, ни зачатия.

12 T hough they bring up their sons, yet I will bereave them, that there shall not be a man left; yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

А хотя бы они и воспитали детей своих, отниму их; ибо горе им, когда удалюсь от них!

13 E phraim, as I saw Tyre, is planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim shall bring forth his sons to the murderer.

Ефрем, как Я видел его до Тира, насажден на прекрасной местности; однако Ефрем выведет детей своих к убийце.

14 G ive them, O LORD, that which thou must give them; give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

Дай им, Господи: что Ты дашь им? дай им утробу нерождающую и сухие сосцы.

15 A ll their wickedness was in Gilgal, for there I took a dislike to them; for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of my house, I will never love them again: all their princes are disloyal.

Все зло их в Галгале: там Я возненавидел их за злые дела их; изгоню их из дома Моего, не буду больше любить их; все князья их--отступники.

16 E phraim was smitten, their root is dried up; they shall bear no more fruit; even though they bring forth, yet I will slay even the desirable fruit of their womb.

Поражен Ефрем; иссох корень их, --не будут приносить они плода, а если и будут рождать, Я умерщвлю вожделенный плод утробы их.

17 M y God will cast them away because they did not hearken unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the Gentiles.

Отвергнет их Бог мой, потому что они не послушались Его, и будут скитальцами между народами.
