1 ¶ Woe to those that go down to Egypt for help; and trust in horses and place their hope in chariots because they are many and in horsemen, because they are valiant, but they did not look unto the Holy One of Israel, neither did they seek the LORD!

Горе тем, которые идут в Египет за помощью, надеются на коней и полагаются на колесницы, потому что их много, и на всадников, потому что они весьма сильны, а на Святаго Израилева не взирают и к Господу не прибегают!

2 Y et he also is wise to guide evil and will not cause his words to lie but will arise against the house of the evildoers and against the help of those that work iniquity.

Но премудр Он; и наведет бедствие, и не отменит слов Своих; восстанет против дома нечестивых и против помощи делающих беззаконие.

3 N ow the Egyptian is a man, and not God, and his horses flesh, and not spirit, so that as the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helps shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they shall all fail together.

И Египтяне--люди, а не Бог; и кони их--плоть, а не дух. И прострет руку Свою Господь, и споткнется защитник, и упадет защищаемый, и все вместе погибнут.

4 F or thus has the LORD spoken unto me, Like the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, even if a multitude of shepherds come forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voices, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of the hosts come down to fight for Mount Zion and for his hill.

Ибо так сказал мне Господь: как лев, как скимен, ревущий над своею добычею, хотя бы множество пастухов кричало на него, от крика их не содрогнется и множеству их не уступит, --так Господь Саваоф сойдет сразиться за гору Сион и за холм его.

5 A s birds flying, so will the LORD of the hosts defend Jerusalem; defending, delivering, passing over, and saving it.

Как птицы--птенцов, так Господь Саваоф покроет Иерусалим, защитит и избавит, пощадит и спасет.

6 ¶ Turn ye unto him against whom ye have deeply revolted, O sons of Israel.

Обратитесь к Тому, от Которого вы столько отпали, сыны Израиля!

7 F or in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you as a sin.

В тот день отбросит каждый человек своих серебряных идолов и золотых своих идолов, которых руки ваши сделали вам на грех.

8 T hen the Assyrian shall fall by the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the presence of the sword, and his young men shall faint.

И Ассур падет не от человеческого меча, и не человеческий меч потребит его, --он избежит от меча, и юноши его будут податью.

9 A nd he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the banner, saith the LORD, unto whom there is fire in Zion, and unto whom there is a furnace in Jerusalem.

И от страха пробежит мимо крепости своей; и князья его будут пугаться знамени, говорит Господь, Которого огонь на Сионе и горнило в Иерусалиме.
