1 ¶ Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes, our brother,

Павел, волею Божиею призванный Апостол Иисуса Христа, и Сосфен брат,

2 u nto the congregation of God which is at Corinth, to those that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be holy, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

церкви Божией, находящейся в Коринфе, освященным во Христе Иисусе, призванным святым, со всеми призывающими имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа, во всяком месте, у них и у нас:

3 G race be unto you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

благодать вам и мир от Бога Отца нашего и Господа Иисуса Христа.

4 I thank my God always on your behalf for the grace of God which is given you in Christ Jesus,

Непрестанно благодарю Бога моего за вас, ради благодати Божией, дарованной вам во Христе Иисусе,

5 t hat in every thing ye are enriched in him in all word and in all knowledge,

потому что в Нем вы обогатились всем, всяким словом и всяким познанием, --

6 w ith which the testimony of the Christ was confirmed in you,

ибо свидетельство Христово утвердилось в вас, --

7 s o that ye lack nothing in any gift, waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

так что вы не имеете недостатка ни в каком даровании, ожидая явления Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

8 w ho shall also confirm that ye shall remain unimpeachable unto the end, in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Который и утвердит вас до конца, неповинными в день Господа нашего Иисуса Христа.

9 G od is faithful, by whom ye were called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Верен Бог, Которым вы призваны в общение Сына Его Иисуса Христа, Господа нашего.

10 ¶ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfect, joined together in the same understanding and in the same perception.

Умоляю вас, братия, именем Господа нашего Иисуса Христа, чтобы все вы говорили одно, и не было между вами разделений, но чтобы вы соединены были в одном духе и в одних мыслях.

11 F or it has been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by those of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

Ибо от Хлоиных сделалось мне известным о вас, братия мои, что между вами есть споры.

12 I n other words, that each one of you says, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.

Я разумею то, что у вас говорят: 'я Павлов'; 'я Аполлосов'; 'я Кифин'; 'а я Христов'.

13 I s the Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul?

Разве разделился Христос? разве Павел распялся за вас? или во имя Павла вы крестились?

14 ¶ I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius,

Благодарю Бога, что я никого из вас не крестил, кроме Криспа и Гаия,

15 l est any should say that ye were baptized into my name.

дабы не сказал кто, что я крестил в мое имя.

16 A nd I baptized also the household of Stephanas; besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

Крестил я также Стефанов дом; а крестил ли еще кого, не знаю.

17 ¶ For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made void.

Ибо Христос послал меня не крестить, а благовествовать, не в премудрости слова, чтобы не упразднить креста Христова.

18 F or the word of the cross is foolishness to those that perish, but unto us who are saved, it is the power of God.

Ибо слово о кресте для погибающих юродство есть, а для нас, спасаемых, --сила Божия.

19 F or it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Ибо написано: погублю мудрость мудрецов, и разум разумных отвергну.

20 W here is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the philosopher of this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

Где мудрец? где книжник? где совопросник века сего? Не обратил ли Бог мудрость мира сего в безумие?

21 F or in the wisdom of God, since the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe.

Ибо когда мир мудростью не познал Бога в премудрости Божией, то благоугодно было Богу юродством проповеди спасти верующих.

22 F or the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom,

Ибо и Иудеи требуют чудес, и Еллины ищут мудрости;

23 b ut we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock and unto the Gentiles foolishness;

а мы проповедуем Христа распятого, для Иудеев соблазн, а для Еллинов безумие,

24 b ut unto those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

для самих же призванных, Иудеев и Еллинов, Христа, Божию силу и Божию премудрость;

25 F or that which is foolish of God is wiser than men, and that which is weak of God is stronger than men.

потому что немудрое Божие премудрее человеков, и немощное Божие сильнее человеков.

26 F or look upon your vocation, brothers, that ye are not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble,

Посмотрите, братия, кто вы, призванные: не много мудрых по плоти, не много сильных, не много благородных;

27 b ut rather God has chosen that which is the foolishness of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen that which is the weakness of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

но Бог избрал немудрое мира, чтобы посрамить мудрых, и немощное мира избрал Бог, чтобы посрамить сильное;

28 a nd that which is vile of the world and that which is despised God has chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought the things that are,

и незнатное мира и уничиженное и ничего не значащее избрал Бог, чтобы упразднить значащее, --

29 t hat no flesh should glory in his presence.

для того, чтобы никакая плоть не хвалилась пред Богом.

30 B ut of him ye are reborn in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

От Него и вы во Христе Иисусе, Который сделался для нас премудростью от Бога, праведностью и освящением и искуплением,

31 t hat, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.

чтобы, как написано: хвалящийся хвались Господом.
