1 ¶ Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, unto the congregation of the Thessalonians in God our Father and in our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 G race unto you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 W e must thank God always for you, brethren, as is due because your faith grows exceedingly, and the charity of each and every one of you toward each other abounds,

Всегда по справедливости мы должны благодарить Бога за вас, братия, потому что возрастает вера ваша, и умножается любовь каждого друг ко другу между всеми вами,

4 s o that we ourselves glory in you in the congregations of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure and

так что мы сами хвалимся вами в церквах Божиих, терпением вашим и верою во всех гонениях и скорбях, переносимых вами

5 ¶ in testimony of the just judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer,

в доказательство того, что будет праведный суд Божий, чтобы вам удостоиться Царствия Божия, для которого и страдаете.

6 s eeing it is a just thing with God to recompense tribulation to those that trouble you

Ибо праведно пред Богом--оскорбляющим вас воздать скорбью,

7 a nd to give you, who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with the angels of his power,

а вам, оскорбляемым, отрадою вместе с нами, в явление Господа Иисуса с неба, с Ангелами силы Его,

8 w ith flaming fire, to take vengeance on those that do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,

в пламенеющем огне совершающего отмщение не познавшим Бога и не покоряющимся благовествованию Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

9 w ho shall be punished with eternal destruction by the presence of the Lord and by the glory of his power,

которые подвергнутся наказанию, вечной погибели, от лица Господа и от славы могущества Его,

10 w hen he shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired in all those that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

когда Он приидет прославиться во святых Своих и явиться дивным в день оный во всех веровавших, так как вы поверили нашему свидетельству.

11 ¶ Therefore in this manner we pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of his calling and fill each will with goodness and the work of faith with power

Для сего и молимся всегда за вас, чтобы Бог наш соделал вас достойными звания и совершил всякое благоволение благости и дело веры в силе,

12 t hat the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be clarified in you, and ye in him, by the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

да прославится имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа в вас, и вы в Нем, по благодати Бога нашего и Господа Иисуса Христа.
