1 ¶ So these three men ceased to answer Job because he was righteous in his own eyes.

Когда те три мужа перестали отвечать Иову, потому что он был прав в глазах своих,

2 T hen the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was kindled; against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

тогда воспылал гнев Елиуя, сына Варахиилова, Вузитянина из племени Рамова: воспылал гнев его на Иова за то, что он оправдывал себя больше, нежели Бога,

3 A lso against his three friends was his wrath kindled because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

а на трех друзей его воспылал гнев его за то, что они не нашли, что отвечать, а между тем обвиняли Иова.

4 N ow Elihu had waited until Job had spoken because they were all elder than he.

Елиуй ждал, пока Иов говорил, потому что они летами были старше его.

5 B ut when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

Когда же Елиуй увидел, что нет ответа в устах тех трех мужей, тогда воспылал гнев его.

6 ¶ And Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, answered and said, I am younger, and ye are older; therefore, I was afraid, and I feared to declare unto you my opinion.

И отвечал Елиуй, сын Варахиилов, Вузитянин, и сказал: я молод летами, а вы--старцы; поэтому я робел и боялся объявлять вам мое мнение.

7 I said, Days shall speak, and the multitude of years shall declare wisdom.

Я говорил сам себе: пусть говорят дни, и многолетие поучает мудрости.

8 C ertainly there is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.

Но дух в человеке и дыхание Вседержителя дает ему разумение.

9 G reat men are not always wise; neither do the aged understand judgment.

Не многолетние мудры, и не старики разумеют правду.

10 T herefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will declare my knowledge.

Поэтому я говорю: выслушайте меня, объявлю вам мое мнение и я.

11 B ehold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your arguments, while ye searched out what to say.

Вот, я ожидал слов ваших, --вслушивался в суждения ваши, доколе вы придумывали, что сказать.

12 E ven so, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you to reprove Job or to answer his words.

Я пристально смотрел на вас, и вот никто из вас не обличает Иова и не отвечает на слова его.

13 L est ye should say, We have found out wisdom; it is needful that God thrust him down, and not man.

Не скажите: мы нашли мудрость: Бог опровергнет его, а не человек.

14 N ow he has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your reasons.

Если бы он обращал слова свои ко мне, то я не вашими речами отвечал бы ему.

15 ¶ They were amazed, they answered no more; they left off speaking.

Испугались, не отвечают более; перестали говорить.

16 A nd I waited, (for they did not speak, but stopped, and answered no more);

И как я ждал, а они не говорят, остановились и не отвечают более,

17 I said, I will also answer my part, I will also declare my opinion.

то и я отвечу с моей стороны, объявлю мое мнение и я,

18 F or I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me.

ибо я полон речами, и дух во мне теснит меня.

19 B ehold, my belly is as wine which has no vent; it is ready to burst forth like spirits.

Вот, утроба моя, как вино неоткрытое: она готова прорваться, подобно новым мехам.

20 I will speak, that I may be able to breathe; I will open my lips and answer.

Поговорю, и будет легче мне; открою уста мои и отвечу.

21 I will not now be a respecter of persons, neither will I give flattering titles unto man.

На лице человека смотреть не буду и никакому человеку льстить не стану,

22 F or I do not know how to give flattering titles; otherwise my maker would soon take me away.

потому что я не умею льстить: сейчас убей меня, Творец мой.
