1 ¶ And he heard the words of the sons of Laban, saying, Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s, he has gotten all this glory.

И услышал слова сынов Лавановых, которые говорили: Иаков завладел всем, что было у отца нашего, и из имения отца нашего составил все богатство сие.

2 A nd Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

И увидел Иаков лице Лавана, и вот, оно не таково к нему, как было вчера и третьего дня.

3 A lso the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

И сказал Господь Иакову: возвратись в землю отцов твоих и на родину твою; и Я буду с тобою.

4 A nd Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his sheep

И послал Иаков, и призвал Рахиль и Лию в поле, к мелкого скота своего,

5 a nd said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me.

и сказал им: я вижу лице отца вашего, что оно ко мне не таково, как было вчера и третьего дня; но Бог отца моего был со мною;

6 A nd ye know that with all my strength I have served your father.

вы сами знаете, что я всеми силами служил отцу вашему,

7 A nd your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.

а отец ваш обманывал меня и раз десять переменял награду мою; но Бог не попустил ему сделать мне зло.

8 I f he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the sheep bore speckled; and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then all the sheep bore ringstraked.

Когда сказал он, что с крапинами будет тебе в награду, то скот весь родил с крапинами. А когда он сказал: пестрые будут тебе в награду, то скот весь и родил пестрых.

9 T hus God has taken away the livestock of your father and given them to me.

И отнял Бог скот у отца вашего и дал мне.

10 A nd it came to pass at the time that the sheep conceived, that I lifted up my eyes and saw in dreams, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the females were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.

Однажды в такое время, когда скот зачинает, я взглянул и увидел во сне, и вот козлы, поднявшиеся на скот, пестрые с крапинами и пятнами.

11 A nd the angel of God spoke unto me in dreams, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

Ангел Божий сказал мне во сне: Иаков! Я сказал: вот я.

12 A nd he said, Lift up now thine eyes and see, all the rams which leap upon the sheep are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled; for I have seen all that Laban has done unto thee.

Он сказал: возведи очи твои и посмотри: все козлы, поднявшиеся на скот, пестрые, с крапинами и с пятнами, ибо Я вижу все, что Лаван делает с тобою;

13 I am the God of Bethel, where thou didst anoint the pillar and where thou didst vow a vow unto me. Now arise, go out from this land and return unto the land of thy nature.

Я Бог в Вефиле, где ты возлил елей на памятник и где ты дал Мне обет; теперь встань, выйди из земли сей и возвратись в землю родины твоей.

14 A nd Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?

Рахиль и Лия сказали ему в ответ: есть ли еще нам доля и наследство в доме отца нашего?

15 A re we not counted of him strangers? For he has sold us and has even devoured all our price.

не за чужих ли он нас почитает? ибо он продал нас и съел даже серебро наше;

16 F or all the riches which God has taken from our father, is ours and our son’s; now then, whatever God has said unto thee, do.

посему все богатство, которое Бог отнял у отца нашего, есть наше и детей наших; итак делай все, что Бог сказал тебе.

17 ¶ Then Jacob rose up and set his sons and his wives upon the camels;

И встал Иаков, и посадил детей своих и жен своих на верблюдов,

18 a nd he carried away all his livestock and all his goods which he had gotten, the livestock of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, to return unto Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

и взял с собою весь скот свой и все богатство свое, которое приобрел, скот собственный его, который он приобрел в Месопотамии, чтобы идти к Исааку, отцу своему, в землю Ханаанскую.

19 A nd Laban had gone to shear his sheep; and Rachel stole the idols of her father.

И как Лаван пошел стричь скот свой, то Рахиль похитила идолов, которые были у отца ее.

20 A nd Jacob stole away the heart of Laban the Aramean, in that he did not tell him that he fled.

Иаков же похитил сердце у Лавана Арамеянина, потому что не известил его, что удаляется.

21 S o he fled with all that he had; and he rose up and passed the river and set his face toward Mount Gilead.

И ушел со всем, что у него было; и, встав, перешел реку и направился к горе Галаад.

22 A nd it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob had fled.

На третий день сказали Лавану, что Иаков ушел.

23 T hen he took his brethren with him and pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in Mount Gilead.

Тогда он взял с собою родственников своих, и гнался за ним семь дней, и догнал его на горе Галаад.

24 A nd God came to Laban the Aramean in dreams by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

И пришел Бог к Лавану Арамеянину ночью во сне и сказал ему: берегись, не говори Иакову ни доброго, ни худого.

25 ¶ Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount; and Laban with his brethren pitched in Mount Gilead.

И догнал Лаван Иакова; Иаков же поставил шатер свой на горе, и Лаван со сродниками своими поставил на горе Галаад.

26 A nd Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away my heart and carried away my daughters as captives taken with the sword?

И сказал Лаван Иакову: что ты сделал? для чего ты обманул меня, и увел дочерей моих, как плененных оружием?

27 W hy didst thou flee away secretly and steal away from me and didst not tell me that I might have sent thee away with mirth and with songs with tambourine and with harp?

зачем ты убежал тайно, и укрылся от меня, и не сказал мне? я отпустил бы тебя с веселием и с песнями, с тимпаном и с гуслями;

28 A nd hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.

ты не позволил мне даже поцеловать внуков моих и дочерей моих; безрассудно ты сделал.

29 I t is in the power of my hand to do you hurt, but the God of your father spoke unto me last night, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

Есть в руке моей сила сделать вам зло; но Бог отца вашего вчера говорил ко мне и сказал: берегись, не говори Иакову ни хорошего, ни худого.

30 A nd now, that thou art leaving, because thy desire is after thy father’s house, yet why hast thou stolen my gods?

Но пусть бы ты ушел, потому что ты нетерпеливо захотел быть в доме отца твоего, --зачем ты украл богов моих?

31 A nd Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid; for I said, Peradventure thou would take by force thy daughters from me.

Иаков отвечал Лавану и сказал: боялся, ибо я думал, не отнял бы ты у меня дочерей своих.

32 W ith whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let them not live; before our brethren discern what is thine with me and take it to thee. For Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them.

у кого найдешь богов твоих, тот не будет жив; при родственниках наших узнавай, что у меня, и возьми себе. Иаков не знал, что Рахиль украла их.

33 A nd Laban went into Jacob’s tent and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents, but he did not find them. Then he went out of Leah’s tent and came to Rachel’s tent.

И ходил Лаван в шатер Иакова, и в шатер Лии, и в шатер двух рабынь, но не нашел. И, выйдя из шатра Лии, вошел в шатер Рахили.

34 N ow Rachel took the images and put them in a camel’s saddle and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent but did not find them.

Рахиль же взяла идолов, и положила их под верблюжье седло и села на них. И обыскал Лаван весь шатер; но не нашел.

35 A nd she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but did not find the images.

Она же сказала отцу своему: да не прогневается господин мой, что я не могу встать пред тобою, ибо у меня обыкновенное женское. И он искал, но не нашел идолов.

36 ¶ Then Jacob was wroth and contended with Laban, and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? What is my sin that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?

Иаков рассердился и вступил в спор с Лаваном. И начал Иаков говорить и сказал Лавану: какая вина моя, какой грех мой, что ты преследуешь меня?

37 W hereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? Set it here before my brethren and thy brethren that they may judge between us both.

ты осмотрел у меня все вещи, что нашел ты из всех вещей твоего дома? покажи здесь пред родственниками моими и пред родственниками твоими; пусть они рассудят между нами обоими.

38 T hese twenty years I have been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not aborted their young, and I have not eaten the rams of thy flock.

Вот, двадцать лет я у тебя; овцы твои и козы твои не выкидывали; овнов стада твоего я не ел;

39 T hat which was torn of beasts I did not bring unto thee; I bore the sin; thou didst require of my hand that which was stolen, whether by day or by night.

растерзанного зверем я не приносил к тебе, это был мой убыток; ты с меня взыскивал, днем ли что пропадало, ночью ли пропадало;

40 B y day the drought consumed me, and by night, the frost; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

я томился днем от жара, а ночью от стужи, и сон мой убегал от глаз моих.

41 T hus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters and six years for thy flock; and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

Таковы мои двадцать лет в доме твоем. Я служил тебе четырнадцать лет за двух дочерей твоих и шесть лет за скот твой, а ты десять раз переменял награду мою.

42 I f the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, were not with me, surely thou would send me away now empty. God has seen my affliction and the work of my hands and rebuked thee last night.

Если бы не был со мною Бог отца моего, Бог Авраама и страх Исаака, ты бы теперь отпустил меня ни с чем. Бог увидел бедствие мое и труд рук моих и вступился вчера.

43 ¶ And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these sons are my sons, and these sheep are my sheep, and all that thou seest is mine; and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their sons unto whom they have given birth?

И отвечал Лаван и сказал Иакову: дочери--мои дочери; дети--мои дети; скот--мой скот, и все, что ты видишь, это мое: могу ли я что сделать теперь с дочерями моими и с детьми их, которые рождены ими?

44 N ow therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou, and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

Теперь заключим союз я и ты, и это будет свидетельством между мною и тобою.

45 T hen Jacob took a stone and set it up for a pillar.

И взял Иаков камень и поставил его памятником.

46 A nd Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones and made a heap; and they ate there upon the heap.

И сказал Иаков родственникам своим: наберите камней. Они взяли камни, и сделали холм, и ели там на холме.

47 A nd Laban called it Jegarsahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.

И назвал его Лаван: Иегар-Сагадуфа; а Иаков назвал его Галаадом.

48 A nd Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

И сказал Лаван: сегодня этот холм между мною и тобою свидетель. Посему и наречено ему имя: Галаад,

49 a nd Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee when we are absent one from another.

Мицпа, оттого, что Лаван сказал: да надзирает Господь надо мною и над тобою, когда мы скроемся друг от друга;

50 I f thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness between me and thee.

если ты будешь худо поступать с дочерями моими, или если возьмешь жен сверх дочерей моих, то, хотя нет человека между нами, но смотри, Бог свидетель между мною и между тобою.

51 A nd Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have raised up between me and thee;

И сказал Лаван Иакову: вот холм сей и вот памятник, который я поставил между мною и тобою;

52 l et this heap be witness and this pillar be witness that I will not pass over this heap against thee and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar against me, for harm.

этот холм свидетель, и этот памятник свидетель, что ни я не перейду к тебе за этот холм, ни ты не перейдешь ко мне за этот холм и за этот памятник, для зла;

53 T he God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their fathers, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

Бог Авраамов и Бог Нахоров да судит между нами, Бог отца их. Иаков поклялся страхом отца своего Исаака.

54 T hen Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount and called his brethren to eat bread; and they ate bread and slept in the mount.

И заколол Иаков жертву на горе и позвал родственников своих есть хлеб; и они ели хлеб и ночевали на горе.

55 A nd early in the morning Laban rose up and kissed his sons and his daughters and blessed them; and Laban departed and returned unto his place.

И встал Лаван рано утром и поцеловал внуков своих и дочерей своих, и благословил их. И пошел и возвратился Лаван в свое место.
