1 ¶ In those days, as before, there was a great multitude, and they had nothing to eat; Jesus called his disciples unto him and said unto them,

В те дни, когда собралось весьма много народа и нечего было им есть, Иисус, призвав учеников Своих, сказал им:

2 I have mercy on the multitude because they have now been with me three days and have nothing to eat;

жаль Мне народа, что уже три дня находятся при Мне, и нечего им есть.

3 A nd if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way, for some of them came from afar.

Если неевшими отпущу их в домы их, ослабеют в дороге, ибо некоторые из них пришли издалека.

4 A nd his disciples answered him, From where can anyone satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?

Ученики Его отвечали Ему: откуда мог бы кто здесь в пустыне хлебов, чтобы накормить их?

5 A nd he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.

И спросил их: сколько у вас хлебов? Они сказали: семь.

6 A nd he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves and having given thanks, he broke them and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude.

Тогда велел народу возлечь на землю; и, взяв семь хлебов и воздав благодарение, преломил и дал ученикам Своим, чтобы они раздали; и они раздали народу.

7 A nd they also had a few small fishes; and he blessed them and commanded to set them also before them.

Было у них и немного рыбок: благословив, Он велел раздать и их.

8 S o they ate and were filled; and they took up of the broken food that was left seven baskets.

И ели, и насытились; и набрали оставшихся кусков семь корзин.

9 A nd those that had eaten were about four thousand; and he dispatched them.

Евших же было около четырех тысяч. И отпустил их.

10 ¶ And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.

И тотчас войдя в лодку с учениками Своими, прибыл в пределы Далмануфские.

11 A nd the Pharisees came forth and began to argue with him, demanding of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.

Вышли фарисеи, начали с Ним спорить и требовали от Него знамения с неба, искушая Его.

12 A nd crying out in his spirit, he said, Why does this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

И Он, глубоко вздохнув, сказал: для чего род сей требует знамения? Истинно говорю вам, не дастся роду сему знамение.

13 A nd he left them and, entering into the ship again, departed to the other side.

И, оставив их, опять вошел в лодку и отправился на ту сторону.

14 N ow the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.

При сем ученики Его забыли взять хлебов и кроме одного хлеба не имели с собою в лодке.

15 A nd he commanded them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herod.

А Он заповедал им, говоря: смотрите, берегитесь закваски фарисейской и закваски Иродовой.

16 A nd they argued among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.

И, рассуждая между собою, говорили:, что хлебов нет у нас.

17 A nd as Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why argue ye because ye have no bread? Do ye not consider nor understand? is your heart yet blind?

Иисус, уразумев, говорит им: что рассуждаете о том, что нет у вас хлебов? Еще ли не понимаете и не разумеете? Еще ли окаменено у вас сердце?

18 H aving eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

Имея очи, не видите? имея уши, не слышите? и не помните?

19 W hen I broke the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They said unto him, Twelve.

Когда Я пять хлебов преломил для пяти тысяч, сколько полных коробов набрали вы кусков? Говорят Ему: двенадцать.

20 A nd when the seven loaves among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.

А когда семь для четырех тысяч, сколько корзин набрали вы оставшихся кусков. Сказали: семь.

21 A nd he said unto them, How is it that ye do not yet understand?

И сказал им: как же не разумеете?

22 ¶ And he came to Bethsaida, and they bring a blind man unto him and beseech him to touch him.

Приходит в Вифсаиду; и приводят к Нему слепого и просят, чтобы прикоснулся к нему.

23 S o, taking the blind man by the hand, he led him out of the town; and spitting into his eyes and putting his hands upon them, he asked him if he saw anything.

Он, взяв слепого за руку, вывел его вон из селения и, плюнув ему на глаза, возложил на него руки и спросил его: видит ли что?

24 A nd looking, he said, I see men; I see that they walk as trees.

Он, взглянув, сказал: вижу проходящих людей, как деревья.

25 A fter that, he put his hands again upon his eyes and caused him to see; and he was whole and saw everyone, far away and clearly.

Потом опять возложил руки на глаза ему и велел ему взглянуть. И он исцелел и стал видеть все ясно.

26 A nd he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

И послал его домой, сказав: не заходи в селение и не рассказывай никому в селении.

27 ¶ And Jesus and his disciples went out into the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Who do men say that I am?

И пошел Иисус с учениками Своими в селения Кесарии Филипповой. Дорогою Он спрашивал учеников Своих: за кого почитают Меня люди?

28 A nd they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets.

Они отвечали: за Иоанна Крестителя; другие же--за Илию; а иные--за одного из пророков.

29 T hen he said unto them, But who say ye that I am? And Peter answered and said unto him, Thou art the Christ!

Он говорит им: а вы за кого почитаете Меня? Петр сказал Ему в ответ: Ты Христос.

30 A nd he commanded them that they should tell no one of this regarding him.

И запретил им, чтобы никому не говорили о Нем.

31 A nd he began to teach them that it was convenient that the Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected of the elders and of the princes of the priests and of the scribes, and be killed and after three days rise again.

И начал учить их, что Сыну Человеческому много должно пострадать, быть отвержену старейшинами, первосвященниками и книжниками, и быть убиту, и в третий день воскреснуть.

32 A nd he spoke this word clearly. Then Peter took him and began to rebuke him.

И говорил о сем открыто. Но Петр, отозвав Его, начал прекословить Ему.

33 A nd he, turning about and looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, Get thyself from me, Satan, for thou knowest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men.

Он же, обратившись и взглянув на учеников Своих, воспретил Петру, сказав: отойди от Меня, сатана, потому что ты думаешь не о том, что Божие, но что человеческое.

34 A nd calling the multitude unto him with his disciples, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

И, подозвав народ с учениками Своими, сказал им: кто хочет идти за Мною, отвергнись себя, и возьми крест свой, и следуй за Мною.

35 F or whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

Ибо кто хочет душу свою сберечь, тот потеряет ее, а кто потеряет душу свою ради Меня и Евангелия, тот сбережет ее.

36 F or what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

Ибо какая польза человеку, если он приобретет весь мир, а душе своей повредит?

37 O r what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Или какой выкуп даст человек за душу свою?

38 W hosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Ибо кто постыдится Меня и Моих слов в роде сем прелюбодейном и грешном, того постыдится и Сын Человеческий, когда приидет в славе Отца Своего со святыми Ангелами.
